I too have just purchased an Ank. I've never owned a mixer and i have always hand kneaded. I love making different types of sweet buns, brioche so i dont do a big batch at a time. Usually i do 500g flour with 300g liquid. It has been painful to learn to use this machine. I feel like my mixture takes forever to become a dough. I could have just used my hands. Can anyone help please?
There is definitely a learning curve, as seen in my videos. I typically use quite long knead times with the roller - maybe 15mins for a basic white bread.
The Ank is a mixer designed to do mainly large batches of dough although they say it can do small batches. You’d have been better off with a planetary stand mixer if you’re working with 500grams of flour. You could make double batches and either freeze half the dough and defrost over night or bake, or half bake all and freeze half. You could also email Ank in Sweden, they’re very helpful
Hello, this is interesting, but I can't understand part of your video. Perhaps it is my computer, although I've checked and it plays other videos OK. From the point 0:58, the video is very fast, and the sound is jumbled. Is there something wrong with the video? Thank you.
@@twistybakes5681 OK, thank you. Generally, are you happy with the Ankarsrum? Is there anything about it that you do not like? I'm thinking of getting one, although I don't like the plastic bowl and whisks (with plastic gears). Thanks.
@Any One Good for you! I hope you will like the Ankarsrum. I see consistently high reviews on the sites. Please remember that if you are using the whips and plastic bowl, to have butter or creamed cheese at room temperature (very soft). Otherwise, there is a chance that the whip gears might break apart. Enjoy your mixer, and please let us know how you're getting on with it.
@Any One I'm sure you will love it, too. You seem very excited and eager to get to know the machine. If I get one, I want to also get the meat grinder package. Looks to be very sturdily built. What colour did you choose for your mixer?
@Any One Wow, you got a really deluxe package, especially with the free blender! I hope you will enjoy using your new Ankarsrum mixer, and can't wait to read about what you think of it after you've used it a few times. Have a good weekend.
So is That Ok if we put butter first and then the flour? Cause for all This time, i usually put the bread n salt after flour and become a dough, and kneading again untill reach the Window pane .
I love watching your video thank you

Glad it was helpful! Still with it and you'll be falling in love with it all over again.

Yes, I fast forward through the boring parts to keep the video to a reasonable length!

What is a Bloomer?
I mean, you literally see it at the end of the video? What more explanation do you need?
