John Wall maintained finesse that no one else has at those speeds. Westbrook just uses the momentum to jump 40+ inches over anyone who tries to block his dunk, no finesse needed. Derrick Rose was a perfect blend of both before abandoning his athletic abilities for a more grounded style after his second major injury.

@@369pendulumthey aren’t being tracked, and NBA court is 94 feet (I think). Speed=Distsnce/time. We now the distance, and we can measure the time from baseline to baseline, this in probably how he’s calculating the speed. That’s why it says “average”. If you covered the court in 3 seconds, you’d be going roughly 30ft per second, or about 21 mph. They cover it in about 3.5 on every clip, which is right around 17 mph. It’s probably not super accurate, but it gives an idea.

The fact that Dwade had an average speed of 16 mph on the one at 4 minutes when he spent half of it in basically a jog is crazy. Then he one upped it and did it again except at nearly 18 mph while noticeably decelerating at around the 3. Flash indeed.

The fact that there is no Darren Collison is a shame. One of if not the quickest player to ever go coast to coast on a regular basis. He and Barbosa were impossible to beat on the break in the 2000s, imagine if they had the take foul then, those guys contracts would’ve increased significantly
