one night i was scrolling through my phone, feeling like i’d never figure out why some people just seem so magnetic. then i came across this book, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and something about it caught my attention. reading it was like turning on a light in a dark room. it’s not about pretending to be someone you’re not; it’s about unlocking the energy you already have. trust me, this book is worth every page

I love the new diy/sewing Alisha era! A tip with working with stretchy fabric, its easier to do a little bit at a time and you need to fully stretch out the fabric vs having just lose and in its original state. Hopefully that makes senses. Much love and support Alisha❤

if you do the baby tee upcycling again, like you said give yourself extra fabric to account for seam allowance! and its always easier to cut it down if you think its too big!
also with the yellow dress that you cut down into a shirt, if you wash it the bottom could roll, or the fabric could start to unravel if not hemmed. there are some simple tutorials that you could watch on how to do that, but its basically just folding the bottom over twice like a 1/4 of an inch, ironing and then sewing it down all the way around!
This is so inspiring! I'm glad a RUclipsr is finally thinking about consumerism habits.

Great job! 🙌🏼😄 I love to cook and bake but I get so bummed when something I make doesn’t turn out good and I only see the flaws, but seeing you accept your little mistakes and learn from them makes me want to do the same and let myself know that nothing has to be perfect every time especially when you’re first learning it. Also, I am a total procrastinator and have a bunch of things on my to do list, so seeing you actually go out and learn a new hobby gives me the motivation to check things off my list too. Also technically you aren’t breaking the rules for your challenge and girl you’re going to the Grammys so it’s totally understandable to get a stylist for that. No judgement, just super proud of you and I hope you had fun!

I've been sewing for almost 6 years and love making clothes for my kids! By biggest advice, get clips instead of pins and look into a serger. Sergers are like a sewing machine, but they give you a professional finish look on the seams. I love watching people learn to sew! You did so good for your first time!

I'd honestly love to see you upcycle clothes you wear daily vs special events type clothes. I just mean there's more regulations on those (e.g semi-formal, formal, etc.). Also IT'S THE GRAMMY'S! This is also why I like clothing rental places because you can rent a gorgeous dress and then you just return it.
Also I'm slowly learning to do embroidery (similar to cross stitch but more complicated). I can neatly darn a sock and I did make a drawstring bag when I was in a home ec class in grade 7. It's blue with flowers and a little cartoon dog on it. (They had an automatic embroidery machine.).
Great beginner diys. I highly recommend looking into SEAM ALLOWANCE cause it would’ve still allowed you to use the stretchy shirt as reference. You’d just need to accommodate for the stretch percentages in the reference. Also looking into WHY TO CHOOSE WHAT STITCH/NEEDLE WHEN. It would pull less on the stretch skirt material and allow it to lay flat.
Either way I think you did a good job and now you have two new shirts 😊 can’t wait to see what you wear to the Grammys today!

Great job on the sewing just a tip.. hold the fabric close to the back and front of the sewing foot and hold the material taut while you guide it through
Moving hands back closer to the foot each time , just watch out with front hand that you dont get hit by the arm Going up and down

Loved this video! Stretchy fabrics can be very difficult to sew! If you still have the skirt you could practice light zig-zag stitches and lightning stitches on it to get more comfortable with working with that type of fabric. So excited to see your sewing journey!!
Stretch fabric can be such a pian! Getting the right type of needle is key though. I think ballpoint needles are usually recommended for stretch fabrics. Also, if its any kind of t-shirt jersey knit you need a different needle too. I found that out the hard way 😬! Knits do not behave the same as weaves. I hope that's helpful!
