I remember going to see Then Jerico in Portsmouth and Mark just leaping off the tops of the very tall speakers. Absolutely the most dynamic and commanding frontman I have ever seen and such a powerful voice. I had read an article about the band in a magazine on a train and remember Mark talking about Byron and his love for him and his poetry. I thought it was wonderful that someone else loved Byron as much as me and that he inspired them so much. So I had to go and see the band and Mark. I will never forget it. And like music on the waters Is thy sweet voice to me Loved then, and loved now 🖤
What I love about this performance (apart from the fact your voice is still great) is that you don't just stand there looking bored and going through the motions like a lot of original 80s performers do. This could be a performance from back then!
this track, Sugar Box & This Big Area are definitely 3 of the best, most enduring songs of any decade & have them on my playlist. such a passionate performer. 💯
Saw Mark and guitar man Olly Olly Olly Oi Oi Oi at Pizza Express in Holborn on Sept 11th 2021. Fabulous acoustic gig - made my sister v jealous. She saw TJ at The Royal Court I Liverpool in about 1987.

Saw Then Jerico 3 or 4 times back in the day. First time was very hot summer night at UEA in Norwich. A phenomenal gig I remember as clear as day 30 years later. Great to see and hear these tracks again.
