This is definitely one of their greatest songs and what you're hearing in the background are tons and tons of vocals overdubbed by the band. The Things We Do for Love by 10cc, that should be your next reaction!
...walking in the rain and the snow and there's nowhere to go...
@@daverhoden445 And you're feeling like a part of you is dying.
I absolutely insist on The Things We Do For Love. Still one of my favorites!
10CC one of the best Bands from the 70s
@@thatpatrickguy3446 I would like to hear good morning judge.
Honestly this is one of the most underappreciated bands ever.
The idea for the song came from Eric Stewart saying to his wife that if he kept saying "I Love You" over and over, it wouldn't mean anything even though he did love her. He recalled to The Guardian:
"I met this gorgeous girl called Gloria at Halifax town hall. I was 18. She was 16. Three years later, we got married. A few years after that, Gloria told me: 'You don't say 'I love you' much anymore.' I told her that, if I said it all the time, it would sound glib. But I started wondering how I could say it without using those actual words. So 'I'm not in love' became a rhetorical conversation with myself - and then a song.
I wrote the lyrics in a couple of days. The line, 'I keep your picture up on the wall, it hides a nasty stain' was about the crack in my bedroom wall at my parents' house in Manchester. I'd put a photograph of Gloria over it. When I took the song to the band, they said: 'I'm not in love'? What the f--k is that? You can't say that!' But Graham Gouldman, our bass-player and chord-master, agreed to work on it with me. We both liked The Girl From Ipanema, so we gave it a similar bossa nova style. Then Kevin Godley, our drummer, said it was crap.
The guy in this song sounds like he's trying to convince himself he's not in love anymore, but he's not fooling us. That conflict stems from the title and helped make the song so poignant.
In a Songfacts interview with Graham Gouldman, he explained: "I had the opening chords to it and it grew from there. Eric and I had always avoided a love song, but I was always convinced we could do a great one, and once again Eric came up with the title of that song, and it was the perfect title of an anti-love song. But of course, is it an anti-love song? Is it I'm not in love, or is it I am in love?"
The whispered vocals of "Be quiet, big boys don't cry" came from the secretary of Strawberry Studios (the studio the band operated), Kathy Redfern. They were looking for a certain sound when Redfern entered the studio to quietly tell Eric Stewart he had a phone call. When they heard her voice, they knew it was right for the song.
(Songfacts.com)
Yes, I've heard this back story, incredible how it happened. I love the little nuances like the secretary's voice inserted and how they over dubbed the background voices multiple times to form the rhythm. Fascinating.
I didn't realize the line she was whispering was "Be quiet, big boys don't cry" -- My hears heard "Be quiet, requesting quiet" -- Weird!
@@EvenCheekier That's what I originally thought the lyrics were back in the day 🤣. I learned different several year ago though. How funny!
@@EvenCheekier mine too I always heard requesting quiet! But after all these years I guess I’ve always been wrong!
I have always loved this song but never cared enough to delve into the story behind it. Thank you for the information Randy.
This is the shorter, cropped version of the song.
The longer, full (album) version of this song is even more sonically amazing & impressive.
I was going to say, this seems shorter than I remember.
There’s a horrible cut about 1 minute from the end of this version.
The 6min version we all know is better than this
shorter one
Yes, this version missed the Bridge completely... Too bad these guys got this lame AM radio version...
10cc are a brilliant British Band formed in the 70’s, they had many hits!

He was trying to deny it, but he was absolutely in love. Great song. Masterful. You should definitely do their "The Things We Do for Love". Absolute classic. You will adore it, I promise.
It's deeper than just denying. As a child he was told that big boys don't cry, so he learned to suppress his feelings, as so many men do.
Definitely second "The Things We Do For Love".
Exactly! He is completely in love and trying to deny those feelings. Oh I love "The Things We Do For Love"! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Things we do for love is very 70s pop as others say, its a classic. Brings back a sh-ton of memories.
This song has been one of my all time favorites, I have always been open to most everything out there .. glad you two enjoyed it 💙
The 70's really were unsurpassable when it comes to musical vibes
totally agree! So many are classics today
Flyboy, You’re right but it was the VARIETY! Every week, another classic tune on the radio completely different and/or better than the last
Absolutely. I'm too tired of people glorifying the bloody 80s but it was the 70s that was the golden age.
@@carlossaraiva8213 I would disagree, I think the sixties were the best, future styles(?) were developed then...of course I was a teen in the 60's, so I have a bias....60's AND 70's were the time to listen to new music
@@rubroken i'm not gping to dispute the notion that there was a lot, and i mean a lot of great music made in the 60s. The Beatles and Bob Dylan alone proves that. You will not ever see me saying otherwise. I think the 70s was the destilation and the maturity of what was great in the 60s. Also, electronic music came came of its own in the 70s and i love electronic music. And Pink Floyd.
If y'all wanna have even more respect for this tune you need to search RUclips for how they produced the backing vocals. I've been a musician for about 55 years and when I saw how they mixed the vocal tracks I was blown away. Too hard to explain it here. Essentially they each recorded single vocal notes and then played them back individually through the mix console and sat at the desk and "played" the notes by raising and lowering the channel faders. You have to see it! J and Amber, we really do love you two! Peace and love to all my friends here. God bless.
Agree it's a have-to-see "making of" video. A masterpiece of musicianship and production
Three of them sang one note 16 times. That's a total of 48 voices for one note. Then they go on to the next note, same thing, and so forth. So 48 voices times 12 notes in a chromatic scale and you get a total of 576 voices if I'm remembering the process correctly. Not sure, but that documentary is awesome!
@@magneto7930 Yep. I watched it several times. Knowing the tech back in the day the simple fact that they went to this extreme is unbelievable. Thank you for the comment, my friend. Stay groovy.
Its a great making of video.
It's amazing, when you know how this was done it completely elevates ones respect for this song tenfold.
10cc are massively underrated, and in their own quiet way, hugely experimental. They were a bit of a supergroup, musicians and songwriters that were suggested by Neil Sedaka to form a group and were very successful throughout the 70's, they were so versatile, they didn't really have a signature sound but were master songwriters.
"The Things We Do for Love" is another gem from them.
This was a huge hit in 1975 ,, You Gatta love them 70s
Definitely that one!
When that guitar solo hits
Definitely!
My favorite.
Two members of 10cc continued as Godley & Creme. You might like "Cry" by them along with all the great 10cc songs already mentioned in here.
Also 'An Englishman In New York' (the full album version) and 'A Little Piece Of Heaven'.
The video for "Cry" was so groundbreaking, Michael Jackson copied the face-morphing special effect on his video "Black or White".
I LOVE that song "cry"!!!! (original video is a must!) ❤️
@@user-or1ye3iz6d Agreed, if they react to Godley & Creme's Cry, they MUST do it to the music video, to get the full effect!
“Cry” has been in my playlist since it first came out. And now I must go and listen to it.
The voice whispering, "Be quiet...big boys don't cry", was the studio secretary Kathy Redfern. The band had decided they liked the line but couldn't figure out how to work it in...and whose vocal to use. It just wasn't sounding 'right' with a male vocal.
At that point the door to the control room opened and Kathy looked in and whispered 'Eric, sorry to bother you. There's a telephone call for you.' Lol jumped up and said 'That's the voice, her voice is perfect!'
She had to be dragged into the studio ("frog-marched" in her words) by convincing her she wasn't even going to be singing...not even really talking....just whispering. So they recorded her voice track of the line, "Be quiet...big boys don't cry" and it ended up as the most recognizable part of "I'm Not In Love", arguably 10cc's biggest worldwide hit and the song that made them a household name in the U.S., peaking at #2 on Billboard Hot 100.
And Kathy Redfern got a gold record out of it.
Great story! Thanks.
The summer of 1974, I was 14 when this song came out. Just a magic summer never forgotten.
Same here.🌟🎶🌟🎶🌟🎶
Me too amen
When I first started listening to the radio on low volume while going to sleep, at 9 yrs old, I heard this song nearly every night that year. Your song selection tonight is flooding me with so many wonderful memories! Thank you Jay and Amber. ❤
#BeQuietBigBoysDontCry
My buddy told me an amusing story once. I hope I'm remembering it correctly, LOL!
He and his father are driving in his dad's truck, and had just been having an argument. It was silent, so while his dad was driving, he turned the car radio on, and this 10cc song was playing. It was right up to the point where the female voice came on and said, "Be quiet", and his father instantly thought it was him telling his dad to be quiet! Right away, he says, "Don't tell me to be quiet!"
We both bring that up when the song comes on!
I was a little older, 13 or 14 and this was absolutely my favorite song for quite a while. I was just at that age when I started having heavy duty crushes and thought I was falling in love. The song made me cry - especially that "big boys don't cry" line. I felt the singer must've felt so deeply for his love that he had to pretend he didn't to protect himself. This was the first deep song of my tender years, lol!
The way that 10CC recorded this song is fascinating. Each pitched voice is its own track; the mixing engineer essentially "played" the mix board. There was a documentary made about it; the name unfortunately escapes me.
It’s worth watching how this masterpiece was recorded.
Here is the link on youtube. It's fascinating, I've probably watched a million times! ruclips.net/video/3oxe4mlsQos/видео.html
Yes! Glad you mentioned this. I did, too! This song is more important for its production value. Groundbreaking. They laid down vocal tracks over and over and then overlayed/dubbed them-in a time without the digital tech we have today. ❤️✌️
It's up on RUclips somewhere.
They took what Paul McCartney did on "Tomorrow Never Knows" and made it beautiful.
"I'm mandy fly me", "art for arts sake" and "the dean and i" are brilliant songs from 10cc
ᴛ᷈͟͟ʜ᷈͟͟ᴀ᷈͟͟ɴ᷈͟͟ᴋ᷈͟͟ꜱ᷈͟͟~͟~͟
add blackmail to that ;)
There are not enough words to describe how much 10cc influenced music, especially in production etc.
And obviously iam proud to say another Manchester band.
My head is swimming with memories
This to me was a magical song ❣️
#10cc
2nd year in college. I remember it well.
Absolutely
exactly - it's like it came pre-packaged with Instant Nostalgia!
Jay & Amber, you'll love their "The Things We Do For Love" and "Dreadlock Holiday"!! They used dozens of taped backing vocals.
A very interesting recording and production story behind this song. see it here - ruclips.net/video/3oxe4mlsQos/видео.html
I second "Dreadlock Holiday" bit of a forgotten classic, not as smooth or atmospheric as "Not in Love" but quirky beat and catchy chorus sticks in your ear.
Spot on for next. Love both songs that you suggested!!
Has anyone mentioned Rubber Bullets yet..
Absolutely a must listen to this link that @surlechapeau shared. They used multiple tracks and did an amazing job! Just great song! Enjoy!
"I don't like Reggae... I love it!"
Brilliant, underrated band consisting of 4 great songwriters. As well as this one, I particularly loved "I'm Mandy, Fly Me", "Life is a Minestrone" and "One Night In Paris".
I can't help but love this song...is so airy and haunting.
I've always loved this song. Thank you for reacting to it... I've always thought that the guy in the song is trying to convince HIMSELF that he's not in love yet the actions he describes says that he is...What always got me the most is that angelic choir of "Ahhhhh" in the background. I also love the song by Billy Joel called "Just The Way You Are" because it has a similar background choir sound.
Agreed, definite conflict between the heart and vulnerability.
Pretty sure Joel's producer got permission to use the vocal track of this song.
Agree
I was 15 years old when this song was released in '75 and it was a monster hit as it was all over the radio. It was so unique and well-written it took the world by storm.

I was 10 too. Even at that age this song touched me. Of course I didn’t really understand the meaning of it but many years later I got it. ❤
We had 'an evening' with our class in a garage of a classmate's house. 1976. Primary school.
I was the deejay, 11 years old, and in love with a girl in that same class.
Not being a native speaker but just buying and borrowing 7-inches and playing them on these occasions. Playing The Beatles from the apple-label, but also The Trammps and everything that was in the top whatever of these days, like this one. Funny, to ask the girl you like to slow-dance on a song called "I'm not in love", but thankfully she accepted the invitation. Best 6 minutes of my life up to then...
I still love this song. It's such an oddly melancholy song to have become a hit song. That strange atmospheric breakdown in the middle is just haunting.
I bought the first of my thousands of records in 1960 in England and I promise you that 10CC are THE most underrated Group that Britain has produced.
Like The Beatles, almost every song is COMPLETELY different from the next one.
That was the short 4-minute version. The 7-minute version is mindblowing and it was The Secretary of The Band who was persuaded to say "Big Boys Don't Cry".
You would not believe from 1975 what patience they had ro replicate that sound on a loop.
XTC are in there, too!
I ADORE this song. Such a lush sound and such gorgeous lyrics. Trying to convince yourself that you're not in love but you know that you are.
Lush is a great word to describe it.
That feeling you get when you come to Rob Squad Reactions, anticipating what three songs it will be today, and you see one that you absolutely fell in love with all those years ago. And you scream, yes! FINALLY!! That was me a few minutes ago! This song warps you right back to the 70's, a time and place I'll love forever. ❤️
I love that feeling with these two and their reaction balance be spot on...just enough conversation for me. I love watching them react to songs I know and introducing me to new songs!
The group actually recorded the backing vocals in an interesting way. They collectively all sang/harmonized a note and recorded it. Then again and again and again... doing a full scale. Then had each play on a tape loop into a mixing board. Then labeled those channels as "notes. And "played" the mixing board faders like a keyboard to "play" the backing vocals. I posted it below, but here it is again. The link to the "Making of" video for this song. ruclips.net/video/3oxe4mlsQos/видео.html

Excellent choice! 10CC were a very innovative band. Two members of 10CC, Godley and Creme went on to release "Cry" which was another groundbreaker- particularly the video that accompanied the song. Greetings from Scotland! 🏴
Cry is a must play for you guys
I LOVE 10CC! Their sound takes me back to my childhood, they were huge in the 70s. Unfortunately this wasn't the full version, there was a cut part way through the bridge. They had some huge hits like this track & "Dreadlock Holiday", "Art for Art's Sake", "I'm Mandy Fly Me" & "The Things We Do For Love". They also had quirky tracks like "One Night in Paris" which had three parts.
I'm Mandy Fly Me , thanks for reminding me , loved that song
Rubber Bullets too :)
@@bobbyboko6317 I'm Mandy Fly Me is a must.
When the “skip” happened in the song, I said out loud “What the hell.”
On another subject, this song and TTWDFL are their commercial songs, the Squad may be surprised - good or bad - when they hear the band’s more typical sound.
Their best album in my opinion was
How Dare You!
He's totally in love and afraid to admit it. Such a cool song.
Espically the whispering in back ground, big boys don't cry, he's in love 😁
This song was huge during my freshman year in high school, and my impression was that he was trying to convince himself that he wasn't in love, and not having much success. Great song, great memories.
I never get sick of this song...this version is a bit shorter, but you get the gist!
It was missing the secretary from the recording studio saying "big boys don't cry"
Two of the greatest ever multi layered tracks of all time were both released within months of each other back in 1975. Still today both “I’m not in love’” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” sound so fresh, original and groundbreaking.
He knows he loves her but he doesn't want to give into it -- he's just being stubborn. That's always been my take. Such a vibe and a beautiful song. Thanks for this reaction! 💙✌
My favourite 10cc song. It's so beautifully written and great orchestral presentation makes it an absolute banger. The vocals and harmonies are amazing. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
So glad you've found 10cc. If you like Supertramp you'll like this band. Many more hits to react to " I'm Mandy Fly Me" "The Things We Do For Love" "Dreadlock Holiday" "Rubber Bullets" or the album tracks "Feel the Benefit" and "Don't Hang Up". 70s Art Rock at it's finest. Much love from England 🏴

I was a teenager when this came out, & in love with it. The girl singing was just a friend of theirs, not a singer, but beautiful too. It took them months to prepare the backing vocals. At the time it was sensational to listen to. 💝💝
I think she was the receptionist at the recording studio.
Two of the members of the band Godley and Creme, basically invented the look of MTV in the 80s. They did some music, but their real impact was as music video directors. So many of the classic 80s music videos on MTV were directed by them.
"Cry" is a great example.
I've always understood the song as being that he is DESPERATELY in love, so much so that he can't even kid himself. The "big boys don't cry" bit was whispered by the studio secretary, who happened to be there. EDIT: This is the version without the whispers! That's such an awesome part! EDIT AGAIN! It is there, dunno what I was hearing! The band are almost like two bands: Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart were behind the more commercial songs Iike this one, whereas Godley and Creme were more artsy. Godley and Creme have a great song post-10cc with an amazing video, especially for the time, called "Cry".
You may want to listen to this video again, the whispered "Be quiet, big boys don't cry" starts at about 3:53 into the video.

this song is an engineering masterpiece... you can't help but be drawn into it's hypnotizing sound... a true classic that stands the test of time...
So dreamy, ethereal, and moody. I loved this song as a young boy, and I still love it. It's like a time capsule, it takes me to a place far away...
Absolutely
It even sounds nautical ⚓ at times.
It was written by Eric Stewart for his wife. It was tongue-in-cheek because she had told him that he never wrote love songs for her.
Eric Stewart, the lead singer, wrote this love song for his wife. She has said it’s the most beautiful gift she’s ever received in her life.
10CC is really a progressive rock band who defy being pigeonholed into a specific genre. All of their music is great, but some of my all-time favorites … and which I’d like to see you react to … are Feel the Benefit from the Deceptive Bends album, From Rochdale to Ocho Rios from the Bloody Tourists album, and Lazy Ways from the How Dare You album. Let me know if you need links.
You earned yourselves a sub. I just brought this song to my wife's attention. We're both 70's kids and these were the songs we would hear on the radio that are priceless. She almost cried. There's another dude that does the breakdown of this tune. He goes into all the detail, and the mixing was done many times over to make it sound as if there were 600 (?) or so singing the back round stuff. Like I said, you guys earned this one. Big boys don't cry was done by their secretary as they were recording. She walked in to let one of the guys know they had a call, and she whispered in a soft tone and when she walked out of the studio, they all looked at each other and one of the guys bolted after her, insisting that she sing those lines.
This song is magical. It's a classic.
I’m not crying, you’re crying… He’s not in love, you’re in love… He IS in love. ❤🔥🤙
I was 18 years old when this track was released in 1975. I thought it was the best record I had ever heard. It's now 2024,I'm 67 years old and I haven't changed my mind. It's magnificent and always will be,to me. All the best from 🇬🇧
He's 100% in love. The music says it, the words say it, in everything he says (except for when he says, "I'm not in love."). He's just trying to fight it. But he loves her, and he can't fight it...
This is the single version. A longer version at times were played on higher quality FM radio stations. Highly underrated band!!! Great reaction!!
Man, those gorgeous haunting sounds always take me right to sophomore year of high school. One the best best pop songs of the 70s.
October.....yes! What's October? Yr bday? Lol......
This is a brilliant song. The production on the background voices is amazing.
Their album How Dare You is epic, virtuosic, bonkers and totally brilliant. Even the opening track is purely instrumental. Each track is a WOW!!!!
One of the smoothest, greatest pop tunes of the 70s.

You guys were great and my search is over.
Love that you mentioned it was a “trip.”
10CC created the “2001” of pop music.
Thanks so much.
Their music is very clever and straddles Rock and Pop!

Lead singer and co-writer of this song Eric Stewart came up with the idea for the tune after his wife, to whom he had been married for eight years at that point, asked him why he did not say "I love you" more often to her. Stewart said, "I had this crazy idea in my mind that repeating those words would somehow degrade the meaning, so I told her, 'Well, if I say every day "I love you, darling, I love you, blah, blah, blah", it's not gonna mean anything eventually'. That statement led me to try to figure out another way of saying it, and the result was that I chose to say 'I'm not in love with you, while subtly giving all the reasons throughout the song why I could never let go of this relationship." (Wikipedia)
The recording of this song is unbelievably innovative. For the backing vocals, they recorded long single notes of each of the singers and put them on long tape loops on the many tracks. For the final mix, they turned the volume faders up and down on the notes they wanted at the specific time. They effectively played the mixing board as a musical instrument. Another interesting factoid is that the "Big Boys Don't Cry" part was spoken by the receptionist at the recording studio. They went out into the lobby and asked her if she wouldn't mind doing it.

My sister thought the words were "Requesting quiet", and, of course, once we found out, we made so much fun of her. (When we want her to stop talking, we'll go "requesting quiet; requesting quiet."
@@amacampbell 🤣 I can actually hear that now.
Billy Joel used a similar tape loop technique to record Just the Way You Are.
Loved this song when it was released in the mid-70s and still love it to this day. This band was revolutionary in how they recorded and produced this album, all way before any of the technology existed. Fil of Wings of Pegasus does a really good analysis and explanation of how they did it. Truly remarkable.
10cc is a brilliant Art Rock band that will bring you all kinds of different vibes and layers. They are one of those bands that their albums should be heard in their entirety. Their song list of what you should hear runs deep. I'm leaving out many songs I think should be heard but here are a few: "The Wall Street Shuffle", "Silly Love", "I'm Mandy Fly Me", "Art for Art's Sake", "Good Morning Judge", "The Things We Do for Love", "People in Love", "Dreadlock Holiday", "Reds in My Bed", and It's well worth the extra time to listen to "Feel The Benefit".
Some other great songs by 10CC are "The Things We Do For Love" and "Rubber Bullets".
Even before I watch this video I will have to tell you this is one of the most underappreciated bands of all time.
Fantastic band with a interesting history and most people know nothing at all about them.
I saw them do this live in England when it was released…now that ages me 😆 It’s still my all time favourite. And that layered sound was all done ‘pre - digital’ of course. Still sends a shiver down my back.
“Be quiet, big boys don’t cry.”
She was the receptionist at the recording studio; walked in for something else and they asked her to say the words. Better than one of the guys saying it, as was their intention.
Great to see it still works across the generations.
Oh, and I still have it on vinyl single as well as the album - many, many good memories being a 17 year old who was ‘growing up’.
Love your channel.
Such a Wonderful Iconic Song!

if you like this song, the version you listened to is a shorter radio edit, there is a longer version, which I think this song deserves as it is so trance like. other great songs from them are "the things we do for love" and "dreadlock holiday".
True, disappointed that they didn't get to hear the full version. I don't know why good parts are cut out like that.
I still have the vinyl LP that I bought 30+ years ago, It has the longer version & I like it much better than this version. I hate how the radio stations butcher songs & make them shorter.
@@timoteo950 top 40 (AM radio) is less likely to play it, if it's 6-7 minutes long. Their (the top 40 radio programmer) has to get as many songs played every hour, as they can. If they want to get a song more exposure, they need to cut it down to the standard 3-4 minutes that most pop hits run.
Yeah, the cut is so jarring.
@@jjjnettie Yes, I was singing along then felt as if I tripped and fell down a flight of stairs. Interrupted the flow, to say the least.
Every member of this band is as talented as the next, Off-beat, melodic & funny at times.. this was a very spacey band with musical excellence , experimental at the time.. with backgrounds as songwriters of songs from the 60's and beyond.. and a couple of them were instrumental in the beginning of videos . So many great songs .. a british wonderment.. need more!! nice reaction as always
Kevin Godley and Lol Creme were the video makers and wrote some great songs: Cry, and An Englishman in New York.
One of Lol Creme's other interests - "Art of Noise" - was one of my favorites
You are right. Rarely has so much talent been packed into a quartet. All four were multi-instrumentalists. All four were singers. All four were (good) songwriters. They were inventive and often very witty. Many of their songs were, in one way or another, explorations of clichés - musical, lyrical or Hollywood/TV.
So many quality great pop songs for the Rob Squad to choose from. I'd skip the early falsetto-led ones (Donna or Johnny Angel, for example) and get into The Dean And I, Rubber Bullets (a kind of Jailhouse Rock re-examined), the super-tongue-in-cheek Worst Band In The World, Wall Street Shuffle (sort of a companion piece to Pink Floyd's Money). My favourite single is probably I'm Mandy, Fly Me.
Perhaps more interesting, though I guess more challenging for Jay and Amber, would be to take in one of their more complex album tracks. Somewhere In Hollywood, perhaps (from Sheet Music). Or the mini-suite One Night In Paris (from The Original Soundtrack). In either case, versions that show the lyrics would be smart.
Every member of the group sang Ahhh on every note in the scale, they added it to the synth and played the voices as music. Stunning! And he loves her SO much!
You need to play the album version! You got 75 cents for your dollar with this hauntingly beautiful classic.
The radio edit splice is obvious to true 10cc fans.
FACT
Brought tears to my eyes took me back to a time of innocence & the bloom of youth when i believed in something. Music speaks where words fail.
One of the greatest original bands ever. Art For Art's Sake, Rubber Bullets, Life Is A Minestrone, Good Morning Judge, Wall Street Shuffle, I'm Mandy Fly Me, The Things We Do For Love....many great songs.

This song explores confused young love in a dreamy way! One of 10cc's best!!!
I like what Amber said "music is everything". That is a great Rob Squad Family slogan.
Oh yes. One of the greatest songs by one of the greatest bands of the 70s. They are all amazingly talented. As to their name, 10cc, you will have to look it up! It's naughty!
Part of the reason I love Guardians of the Galaxy so much is that they gave so much respect to awesome 70's songs like this. What a wonderful time to be young and full of hope with background music like this! 😉
The atmosphere of this song is amazing!
They sounded live exactly like recording. Great song🔥🔥🔥
Oh yeah, he's in love, and denial. "The Things We Do For Love" is another one by them that I enjoy.
You hit the nail on the head...it is a beautiful song. Can't really get more 70's than this.
BTW he says he's not in love...but I remain unconvinced.
This is one of my all time favourites. 10cc were one of the too groups of the 70s. Ive always been a fan.Godley and Creme were members who wrote many hits of the 70s. They recorded in a studio in Stockport UK ( not far from me). They asked the secretary to step in and record 'Big boys dont cry'. The rest is history. Thank you so much for reviewing this classic.
I always viewed this song as more "self talk" than an actual conversation to his lady.
They were a very unique band. "The Things We Do For Love" and "Dreadlock Holiday" are also really good!
Its strange how absolutely beautiful this song really is (the lyrics didnt fit the sound but came together for perfection) One of my Ultimate favs from back in the day. Yesss, an experience...Thank u so much for the memories, Peace...Had to do a second listen to this legendary classic.
Their 2nd biggest hit was "The Things We Do for Love". But my personal favorite from them was the song "Blackmail". It just has such a cool groove to it.
Lots of great songs from this band, first two albums full of witty tunes. My favourite track from them is Blackmail too! 👍
Blackmail is bonkers fab and how Eric bends that guitar is mesmerising !
@@eyesofisabelofficial Again for me as with a lot of bands, it's their album tracks l love the most.
Always loved Blackmail, it stands out as something special, no intro to the song, they just dive straight in with a super strong melody from the word go.
The first two albums l think had the true 10cc feel, I think from The Original Soundtrack they were almost trying too hard to produce lengthy songs that for me lacked some of the 'charm' of their shorter snappier songs.
This was evident l think with other bands from the same time, Eagles and Steely Dan come to mind, again with those two, it's their first few albums that l like the most.
"I'm Mandy Fly Me" is another great one from 10CC
An absolutely amazing band. This song is from 1975. They still tour today with a couple of changes to the line up but absolutely amazing live. "I'm Mandy fly me" is a mesmerising song but they have an amazing back catalogue. Deadlock Holiday is superb too. Thank you for your great reaction. Warmest Wishes from the UK.
Saw them live in the late 70s great group , I love Im Mandy Fly Me , played through good speakers hat can handle the bass
@@catman2629 I saw them in late 75 or early 76. My only complaint (and I know it's an unreasonable one) is that they were so note-perfect, they might almost have been miming. They were such pros that they were damned if they were going to let slide the standards they set in the studio.
Oh he’s in love alright I’m not in love yeah right he’s got it bad 😂😂
in case you haven't figured it out, it it's a very sad song... she'd left him, and he's thinking of her but doesn't want her to think he's broken over her
This song is a work of art. Check out the extended version of this song. You guys are so cool.
I absolutely have always loved this song since it came out in 1975! It has such a haunting, yet ethereal feel to it...simply beautiful ❤️
One of my favorite songs of the summer of '75. They've reacted to this one before; I think they have just done so many reactions, they forgot. When the girl whispers: "Be quiet, big boys don't cry," I think it's her way of saying: get over it, you love me already, and I know it.
They were huge in the 70’s in the Uk…..you wouldn’t turn on the radio without hearing them.
Masterpiece of a song.
Oh y'all playing some great songs tonight !
As I get older (67)and play my vinyl including this album, 'The Original Soundtrack' and 'How Dare You", I'm reminded that there's less of my life ahead of me than is behind me and songs such as 'I'm not in Love' are a part of the soundtrack of our lives.

One of my favorites from this band. This was a huge radio hit! Great reaction!
Wow! I ain't heard this in a long time. ✌❤🎶
10 years later Godley and Creme, two members of 10cc, did a song called "Cry", it has elements of this song in it, especially in the long version.
With a groundbreaking music video.
10cc - The Things We Do For Love - is one of my favorite songs of the era.
This is one of the songs from the 70's that I consider iconic. I love this song in so many ways, but mostly because it reminds me of my life during my transition from child to teenager.
well said.... ahead of its time & set the tone for electronic soundscape music wh/ many bands would sculpt w/ over the next 10 years. difference is, 10cc staked the flag & did it w/ more emotional feeling then just about any artist for the next 10 years later.
