- Our first Lake District campsite in our campervan - Castlerigg Hall in Keswick. One we've been to in the past so had high expectations and they were absolutely met. We were blessed with some amazing weather - wish we had time to have stayed a few days, will definitely go back!
Also took a walk into Keswick from Castlerigg Hall caravan site and took a walk to the lake, through Fitz Park, past the Theatre by the Lake and then along to Friar's Crag.
We also had a lovely cuppa and cake at Castlerigg Gallery.
A fantastic site, had a great time and highly recommended.

Thank you for such an Informative video. We used to camp at the CCC site in Keswick annually with the extended family many years ago. I’d love to visit again.. The Castlerigg Hall campsite looks great, will try to book sometime.

Thanks for the Video, i am booked for June as i am hiking the Cumbria way and the site looked the best for camping. glad i did book this one as it looks like a cracking place and excellent news that i can cook a breakfast before i set off the next day

Looking forward to the Lake District series. Not an area we know very well. So it will be nice to see it in more detail. Loved the view! Very nice site. Reading and relaxing area was awesome. Somewhere to go to chill with a good book! Loved the restaurant. You get extra points when you cater for vegans 🤣😂. Our sort of site. What a lovely walk through the woods. We want to visit there!! We would certainly enjoy exploring. Great that you can walk to the town from the site. Shame it was too early for a cheeky pub stop David! The lake was stunning. Roxy loved her paddle. It’s a beautiful area, all be it can get a bit busy in the peak months. There’s something special about the view from the site as it’s reasonably elevated but seems to get some shelter too and being able to walk into the town is great - as you say though a little early for a cheeky drink 🍺 however I like the early morning strolls - also it would have looked nicer in Keswick centre if the market was set up rather than just setting up! The Heights hotel next door is where they do the vegan and vegetarian food - if you’re going to book up and fancy going there, worth checking the evenings they do food as they weren’t open all week for food (from memory I think it was Thursday > Sunday) but they did seem to be open for drinks on other evenings, might change in the height of the season. Hope you like the next 3 vlogs, the 3rd one was the most contentious between Rachel and I 😀 Pleased it was useful, definitely recommend a trip to the Lake District - all the best, David, Rachel & Roxy 🐾👍

Hi brilliant informative video, keep up the good work especially on camp sites. Ps top tip, don’t do a Bob Earnshaw so keep out of the toilets
Thank you - really appreciate the comment and encouragement. With regard to filming in the toilets, an interesting one. Rachel and I had a bit of a debate on it. I (David) tend to avoid any filming in toilets but will cover the outside and how many there are and what sort of facilities. Rachel thinks it’s useful so you know what to expect. I think it’s the one which is not so nice which would be most off-putting. On this site they were very clean and in great condition. Thanks again, All the best, David (Rachel & Roxy) 🐾

Hi David and Rachel, your very welcome,it’s really nice to see some informative information on different sites because some RUclipss don’t really give much of a accurate description, so it’s fair to say your doing brilliant. We’ve been Caravanning and motor homing for over 40 years and still love going away in the van. As for my comment about Bob Earnshaw and the toilets, Bob and Jenny nearly always use Club sites so basically the toilet blocks are identical as your probably aware. Anyway me and my wife are looking forward to your next site videos as we also love going to the lakes

Looks like a beautiful site, loved the views. Would the path you walked down be suitable for bikes?
The views were spectacular, obviously helped with the sun making an appearance!
Yes the path is mainly suitable for bikes, there are a couple of gates to open and a little wooden bridge that has a few steps that you would need to carry your bike over but should be ok. Alternatively there is the road into town, not as pretty but practical 💕

Quality of Footages looks so impressive

Can I ask about mobile signals for calls, data and least TV coverage please?
Hi Mark, when we were there we got good mobile signal on EE (I think there is a mast nearby all be it not sure which operators it’s for). TV was also fine for us - just needed to retune for the area as we had come from the North East so needed to retune for the local TV. Hope that helps, all the best, David & Rachel 👍

This is a great site with nice views and facilities …. BUT the website is ( or was ) set up so you could not stay for just 2 nights. They want you to stay for three. This I think is not at all customer friendly. Most people will only want to stay say Friday / Saturday…. But no they want you to stay Sunday also. So much so you cannot book two nights…….. until this changes we will unfortunatly not be going back

We’ve found with some sites if you call them a couple of days before and they have some space they will do fewer nights (not sure if this does as not tried) - imagine if folks vote with their feet it will sharp change though. Enjoyed your video but i found the bubble with you commentating rather annoying, in my opinion needless and probably takes you a bit of time to do.

Thanks James, appreciate the feedback - thank you - I’ve not done that for some time now, as you say it takes some time to do and works in some scenarios but not in lots of others.
