So, the thing with Agatha is that certain trainers, most notably gym leaders, rivals, and the Elite Four, have programming that lets them potentially use an item instead of their chosen pokemon attack. They get a sort of limited number. Each item or items have a number of uses programmed in, which refreshes when a new pokemon comes out. For most item users that effectively gives them the programmed in number of items times their number of pokemon. Agatha gets to be an exception, because she can also switch out her pokemon. So she has a theoretically infinite number of whichever potion it is, but practically doesn't since she doesn't have many programmed in per switch.
With the final fight. If Oaks Tauros had went for another move than rage it may have been different, since Rage locks you into using that move only which is already weak and with its speed and high attack it would have taken out alakazam easily
Wanted to mention the real reason the blastoise starter generally does the worst has nothing to do with the blastoise but the fact it does not have gyrados in fact move wise blastoise is by far the best with both hydra pump and blizzard for coverage but its stuck with exeggutor and arcanine with there stone evolution movesets that are awful while gyrados has hydra pump and hyper beam to attack with.
"move wise blastoise is by far the best" that's pretty debatable since status moves are absolutely cracked, especially in gen 1 where iirc sleep lasts significantly longer than in other gens.
In the Rival-Sabrina fight in the tournament, the Rival was all but guaranteed to win on a long-enough timeline as long as its move selection and luck were not trash. Every Psychic (especially unbound by PP-limitations) could reduce the Special of Sabrina's Alakazam, so eventually it was always going to outpace Recover.
8:32 Okay um... Am I just insane and looking too much into things or is the song that plays here the song in Tales of Berseria. I think Velvet's theme/Chance Meeting With Myself? (Not going to lie though I didn't actually know the name of the song I literally just looked up "Tales of Berseria sad song" lol) I've only played Berseria like three times (compared to most other Tales games I've played where I've played them at least 5 usually 10-15+ times) and even then I've only actually beat the game once...and yet I just have this song so deeply ingrained into my head that I was able to identify it within the first two notes.... I guess that just goes to show how often the song plays (or maybe how memorable the scenes in which it plays are?)...
17:21 no bruno is actually a heck of a lot stronger he should be near the absolute bottom of the list since everything is equal footing and he isn't 30 odd levels above half the game 28:32 no it's the absolute complete and udder worst alakazam won venasuar did nothing

There is also the fact that it's not unrealistic that Cloyster loses to Hitmonchan as Cloyster doesn't have the best special, and given that Slowbro will just spam Amnesia against the fighting types, it's about as worth talking about as Bruno's 2 Onix.

Juggler #2 the real MVP of the whole tournament
Definitely enjoyed this, one of the coolest things I've seen. Glad you reacted to it!
"It turns out Bruno is barely in the top 50, ouch." Yeah, we don't talk about Bruno. ;D
>:(
Bruno no no noooo
🤔
I see what you did there.
We don't talk about Brunoooooo

@@Pihsrosnec going off the rivals moves for some reason they gave blastoise an ice move to .
@@williambrinkmeier1772 oh OK, fair enough
It's not just that. Champion exeggutor actually only has 3 moves.
Mad props to the creator of the original video. This comparison definitely took a lot of time and patience.
15:27 cooltrainerF #6 lost the very first battle in the game(first rival battle) but won the second-to-last battle of the game(lance)
If there’s one thing I learned from this it’s that everyone who picked squirtle is a madlad

I am so tilted that juggler#2 did not win this.
Guess Blue was able to beat his gramps with enough training after all
I started with Squirtle so that means I defeated the strongest trainer in kanto. Yay
No venusaur beats blastoise
You would’ve had to have picked Bulbasaur to have beat the strongest trainer.
@@plushytv5295 If you pick Bulbasaur, you face the Rival with a Charizard. Picking Squirtle means you face the Rival with a Venusaur
@@FroststormFrenzy I just realized he wasn’t talking about the highest elo score (Charizard Champion) but the tournament winner (Venasuar Champion)
@@plushytv5295 yep
yes. i can confirm, that "ranking of kings" is a great anime!
understatement. It's absolutely PHENOMENAL
This has me wanting to do a Run with Squirtle to see if I can make a team that just counters the Venasaur team
juggler #2, was robbed
this ones gonna be a good one i can feel it NODDERS
I Always Thought Bug Trainers Were Smart
Did you end up reacting live to the Crystal one? I know you commented in it but would’ve loved to see a reaction
Pat defending Venusaur makes me happy. 😊
He did Crystal
Is it bad I want to watch Pat's whole 53 minute stream reaction?

You should be on stream then :>
I know that you could not make it
then go to the streams playlist on his main channel and watch the full stream there
Please also do his Gen 2 video because it is a lot of fun
Was there in the stream when you reacted to it. (was kinda sad to see you skip the part where you pretended to be smart by reading the captions.)
ya i remember that maths and coding stuff so cool
was that the Bug Fables rank up music as your outro?
They should do this but with fire red and leaf green.
If it was win loss then it would be champion with charizard

Me does a nuzlocke and enters e4 with only venomoth
The rival who is scientifically the best trainer in kanto

Hi, CW_Lord.
Awesome
6.9k views nice
cool
I like its first two stages but Venusaur is the most disgusting looking starter of all the generations XD
I'd rather see a Quilladin or a Drizzile

venasuar is by far the worst gen 1 starter.
its still top 7 but I'm just saying
In terms of popularity sure, But in gameplay? Picking Bulbasaur is literally the easy mode of the game.
