S.Korea and Poland.. this is not just a some business it's a brotherhood. I am south Korean and I love poland so much. we are sharing the same histroy and mentality.
Poland also has all the drones that Ukraine has. Poland also has drones that can destroy tanks and can be fired from vehicles. I wouldn't be surprised if Poland shared technologies with Ukraine.
@@Aleks96 it is you who have zero idea about subject. I am deep interested in military technology including (Polish one) since 35 years. Put your winged hussars into your Poland stronk ass and push them with your fingers as deep as you like. Ukraine designed and produced intercontinental ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads and designed, developed and produced long range jet cargo airplanes including the biggest one in the world. WTF you think that Poland have bigger know how than ukraine? you are delussional idiot.
I am very glad hear this happen. Both our countries benefit from trading best (in the world) equipment they have to offer. Deals like that are what cements alliances making them last for decades.
Well this is kind of done as gesture towards Poland due to massive purchases Poland does in Korea. That and WB, maker of these drones, cooperated with Hanwha a lot in these contracts, adapting Polish FCS to Korean systems as per Polish requirements. Contract is only for 200 for now - 200 is like nothing. A single system is one control station and 15 warheads + 10 drones costs around ~2,5 mln USD. So entire deal is for 20 systems likely. Drones themselves are much cheaper, the price tag comes mostly from control stations and recon variants of warhead in set. Drones can be re-charged and re used if not used in kamikaze attacks. I guess Korea is testing how these will work before any larger orders. But if they decide it's suitable then larger quantities would likely have to be made in Korea through some kind of Join venture between Hanwha and WB. And that would be great, since then the talk would be about joint development of drones. And the thing is if Hanwha wants they can buy out WB outright... since it makes drones as well. Generally WB are more of software guys normally, making drones on the side. They have a quite unique integration between drones and Artillery FCS that can autonomously relay corrections for artillery fire. In most advanced drones this is done via external protocols to battery command that then needs to separately relay corrections to guns, in primitive drones it needs to be relayed via radio verbally and operator has to eyeball the correction - from WB the drone does the calculation and relays it directly to FCS and is available imminently by the gun which fired it. Heck they even make FCS terminals that allow legacy mortars to get the same benefit. So basically they are excellent programmers, but their hardware generally doesn't stand out much. Hanwha is mainly Hardware manufacturer, their hardware is superb but doesn't really stand out in regards to software (it isn't bad). So they would both have a lot of synergy.
I'm shocked Korea can't develop these on their own. Almost feels like nod to Poland. Realistically, Korea should be looking at the Flakpanzer Gepard type and try to manufacture automated ones for defensive purposes.
This is still a pocket change deal in comparison to what Poland buys from Korea. Also these drones are not for countering enemy drones. These are light attack drones designed to destroy lightly armored vechicles, command posts ect
@@shuttze Yeah, we are saying the same thing. It's seems that Korea is just doing Poland a favor by supporting their domestic industries after Poland bought a ton of equipment. Like I said, I'm more concerned about the defenses rather than offense. The Gepard has been proven to be very cost effective in stopping drones.
I think they will develop their own drones with enough time, I guess Koreans still want to have a relatively quickly delivered, decent drone offensive capacity for cheap price to boost readiness and as a deterrent. Polish drones while most likely not the best solution on the market - are battle tested. So aside of what you said about boosting trade relations, there are also few other logical reasons.
Ok, let's see, women who can take care of a house, know how to cook and believe in traditional family values. Well in that case, I'm willing to accept a dozen. 😄
Poland produces some of the best drones in the world and Polish communication systems are used by the entire NATO (including the USA). Poland has also bought a lot from South Korea so why shouldn't South Korea buy something from Poland? This is called cooperation between allied countries.

Sell us Lewandowski and Witcher 4 in return, Poland! xD
Better have them and not need it, Than need it and don't have them.
I believe the most advance and effective drones for military right now are from Ukraine
but in case you don't know, Ukraine actually needs them, so they won't sell any to anyone (duh)
