I have speed bees for my 686 plus have used them many dozens of times they work as good 3 years later as they did new they are 7 shot loaders, no spring has fallen off or no other problems!
Hi! My name is Matt and I work for SpeedBeez! Thanks for the product review! Our loaders were designed for range days, not conceal carry. We just like going out the range and having a good time. One thing that really makes our products fun are the loading blocks! They make loading and reloading so much quicker! We'd love to send you one, free of charge, just for taking the time to review our product! Send me a message and we'll get in contact if you like. Thanks!
can vouch for the Speedbeez loading block, very convinient for shooting range. Where i live the shooting range cost is quite high, i don't want to waste half my time reloading bullets into the speedloader/revolver. Loading block really helps with that, i can prepare the bullets in the loading block at home and minimize reloading time in range.
I use the speedbeez belt pouch w/loaders for EDC my S&W model 69. I never have a problem. I open carry most of the time & the speedbeez rigs do well with that too. I didn't think they were made for just the range. You guys make fanatic products that work well & look good too. I mean, that L-Frame wheel gun speed rig I have looks really bad ass while working really well.
I just got the loading block for my J frame, it makes it so fun at the range, just wish I had one for my GP100 Match Champion as well, really allows for quick loading at the range, and top quality product, very happy that I spent the money.
I think another thing to consider is carry in town or carry in the woods. The SL variant is better for town carry during fair weather. For bear defense or defense against dangerous animals I would want a simpler design without any springs or plastic so they don't crack in cold weather. Also being able to break free frost or ice. I always carry the 5 star loader for bear defense I would trust my life to it.
I've tried the HKS, Safariland Comp III, and Speed Beez speed loaders, and the Speed Beez (when used with its own loading block) is BY FAR the fastest and easiest on my hands. No hard shoves and twists, just click the rounds in, and gently slap them into the cylinder. Yes they're pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. The Speed Beez speed loaders are very well built and don't have that "plastic toy" feel to them.
***** I hear ya. The loaders are bulky for sure but for me they are faster than a strip. But recently I have been carrying an 8-shot speed strip and practicing with it. It does much better in my pocket for sure! And yeah the 5-star is a maraca! LOL Thanks as always my friend!
I bought a Speed Beez with the carrying case and it didn't fit my new 327 because the original wooden grips on the 327 are too thick. I'll have to get thinner grips for it to work. Looking for another loader because I like the grips!
I really like the speed beez speed loader, this is the first time ever hearing about them.I may have to pick a few up for 22lr revolver I'm looking at.I wish I knew of more 8 shot speed loaders.Great video.
caddilacjim I think they started out with the 22lr loaders. I learned about them through someone at the range who has them for his 22lr revolver actually. I know, wish someone else would come out with an 8 shot loader. Thanks!
Just decided to "give one of these a shot" for our trusty K-frame used for HD, so thanks for the video. Since we don't carry the S&W, it should be fine for range and the gun safe.
I tried one of these with a Model 60-15. It would not reliably release rounds, and the retaining spring scratched the hell out of the S&W mark. Just my one data point, but this product is squarely in the "advise others to avoid" category, in my book.
After looking at their website and how the rounds are not locked into place. My thoughts are the speedbeez are Ment for range use only. I think you are supposed to purchase a bunch of their locking trays that arrange and hold the rounds in place and 1 loader and use it when you are at the range. Just my 2 cents.
I just got the HKS loaders for my GP 100 and 686 they work great o ***** i did find a holster for these two revolvers Bianci Black Widow with a thumb break awesome choice for OWB
Seven of those 5 Star loaders? I'd hate to think how many of those you'd have if you actually liked them, LOL. Seriously thanks for the Speed Beez review vid.
+BigBobster86 well I just wish there was another company that made 8-shot loaders but since they are the only ones I gotta deal with it... thanks for watching!
Well done. I don’t have an 8 shot so I use an HKS 7 round. I am okay with it but don’t love it either. Maybe I’ll get some Safariland because they don’t jiggle.
I bought a set with the loading blocks for my lcr in 22 and a set for my lcr 357. I bought them on a whim becouse a don't like the 5 star for some of the same reasons you stated but also becouse they turn the wrong way than the hks which I'm used to using forever. The speed beez in 22 are awsome! The ones for the 357 not so much. The lcr 22 is hard to find a loader for. This one is different than the bigger centerfire speedbeez loaders and works better. I carried the 22 loader in my pocket now for 2 weeks in summer shorts and only once did I loose a round. It was only 1 round and the loader still works just minus one round. No big deal. They are small and light and easy to carry. Much easier than a 5 shot 38 hks. With the hks when you lose a round you lose all of them becouse the Handle turned in your pocket. I therfore carry hks loaders in a belt carrier. The speed bees in 38/357 were too bulky in the pocket and I couldn't get my belt pouch to work with it so I will stick with hks for the 357 but they both are great for the range. I shot way too much ammo last weekend becouse it was so fast and easy to shoot.... from the research I did the speedbeez are a direct ripoff of the old Dade loader. I recommend them for the 22 versions not the center fire ones. Unless they are only for range work then they are great. Just get the loading blocks also
Speed Density Everything old is new again. Yes, it is basically a Dade with a larger handle. The Maxfire is essentially a variant of the old Kubik Loader of the 1970s, which was inspired by a design from the 1930s. While we are reviving old speedloader designs, how about the old Bye Loader? The old Kel-Lite Loader was neat, sort of like a Bianchi Speed Strip crossed with a conventional speedloader. You inserted all of the rounds in the cylinder at once and then peeled off the loader. FWIW: The SL Variant patent has expired. www.google.com/patents/US5953845?cl=en
***** Yep to what Daniel says, I still have about 5 of those old dades left from the late 70's early 80's era when I was airport security at L.A.X for continental airlines ( carried a charter arms bulldog 44 special), man I just got to ask where the heck are you hanging out, and what are you doing that someone wonders about the noise coming from your pockets---my answer to them would either be --none of your stinking business --or wouldn't you like to know-- of course if your playing just a little too much pocket pool-- and it's making those kind of noises--- then just maybe that would or should raise some curiosity lol---just teasing my friend lol--personally I gave up on all speed loaders a long time ago, now I prefer to carry a combination of either my model 60 pro series (always carried right hip iwb) then add either my model 360pd or any one of my 7 different snubby jframe 38's either ankle/iwb left hip/or even pocket carried, (YES I do love the jframes), then carry one 8shot speed strip, I prefer this type of arrangement as it gives the option of a back up weapon in the event of a failure (believe it or not if you carry even revolvers long enough you will have a failure at some point, it's happened to me at least twice now, once on a model 19 the hammer spring snapped right at the hammer, and just recently on my beloved little 60 pro, I was doing some shooting drills and shot one cylinder full--did the speed reload thing-- went to close the cylinder and it wouldn't close-- and low and behold discovered that the firing pin had broke just after the return spring, and the little end of it was not returning as it should-- it was an aftermarket pin, by a company that shall remain nameless, because they took care of the issue and were very sorry about it happening, but it did cause me to not trust that one again, but my best suggestion to anyone that would ask me about the speed loader thing, would be skip it carry the strips and a back up weapon if your going to any area that just might warrant it, after all it's darn quick to just grab another gun, and in the case of carrying 2--5shot 357's for a total of 10 very quick rounds of pretty nasty fire power that's pretty hard to beat (even if the back up is just 38 special that's still plenty), and in your case with the 8 shooter that's 13 cylinders of nasty. take care my friend.
I'm going to get one of these for my LCR (present carry gun). My rationale is that I'm not finding any Variant loaders on the market, the LCR SB model isn't too wide (I believe the diameter is a tad less than the HKS loader, and I'm also going to get Jox speed loader pouch to carry it, so I won't be too worried about individual rounds falling out. I'm also probably going to get one of these for a S&W 686P (which I'll be buying before the end of the year). They actually don't seem to be that much bulkier than the HKS loaders.
I have 3 Speed Breez loaders for my LCRs. They work great for brass casings. However, I bought Speer 135 grain Hollow Points nickel casings for 38 Special and shells WOULD NOT RELEASE. I had been carrying the nickel casings for a while before I discovered the problem. Now I carry brass casings in them and they work great.
Speed Beez are great for the range, especially with the trays. I don't think they're made for carry. I like the speed strips for carry. If you have a 617 10 shot speed beez are awesome at the range!
Bobby Mac are going to make there own version of the sl variant. I don't know when it will ever be made but they will be back. I have a couple of them and a couple dade speedloaders they aren't made anymore but work well.
Thunder ranch inc. com makes a 8 shot speedloader it is $60 + $5 shipping if you didn't know about it you might want to check it out. I don't know anything about them though.
There's a company in Germany (sports shooter)selling the SL Varient right now. Seen it on two different forums. Some look like there in stock and some have a long wait time. I'm just a little paranoid about using a CC on a foreign site but people have said no problems.
fire1777 I have been told SL use to make an 8-shot loader! But I can't find it anywhere. And yeah using your CC on a foreign site might prove difficult. I've heard from many that have tried to order from Nil Grips (Germany) and most of the times their CC is declined. You have to call your CC to let them know its a real charge. Also someone told me there are other fees associated and conversation rates!??! Sounds more trouble than its worth.
They Make A Belt Pouch For The Speed Beez... What Is A Speed Loader Designed For ??? To Reload Ur Weapon In The Safest & Fastest Way Possible & The Speed Beez Is About The BEST Way To Do It... I Also Like The J-Clip To, Just Put 5 or 6 In & Peel Away....
Here's the problem I am having with SL Variant. You can't find them here. Unfortunately, they are notoriously difficult to find. The S.L. Variant is manufactured in Germany. Though they are imported to the U.S., importation happens infrequently and in small numbers. Speed Beez on the other hand are easily found. (amazon, etc)
Finding them is even harder now. They closed up shop. Will never be made again. Extremely hard to find now. I am a FFL dealer and have a distributor connection in Denmark who bought one of the last batches of them ever made. He can get me the N Frame 44 magnum ones and the J Frame .38 special/.357 magnum ones. Costs me about 130 dollars a piece but so worth it. I have one for every revolver I own. They are the holy grail of speedloaders. I can ship you one for 150 if you really want one. Can use PayPal. 😊
I'm wondering ... do you really feel like the Variant is something you'd be comfortable carrying? I'm not disagreeing with your review, because you obviously know what you're talking about, but ... I think I'd like to get a 50-round Speed Beez loading block to take my LCR to the range, but I don't think either of these spring-loaded thingies is something I'd want to stick in my purse :)
@@Josh47147 I was more referring to dependability in stressful situations. I think it'd be nice at the range, but the springs make it seem a bit more fiddly than a regular one. I have one of the 5 Star speed loaders and it's a super simple design that I trust more, but it's not nearly as cool as this one. 🙂
Raquel Foster the sl variant is extremely reliable and won’t drop rd’s at all. They closed up shop and can’t hardly find them anymore. I have a gun dealer friend in Denmark who got one of the last batches they ever made of them. I can get the .38 special /.357 magnum 5shot j frame ones and the N frame 44 magnum ones if you want one. They run about 150. Which you can’t find one used for that. And this is brand new.
I have an SL variant, it is good, especially in the loading category, but the jet loader by buffer technology is slightly better in deployment. Although superior than HKS, the SL variant holds the rounds at a point where when you are loading in a hurry the rounds can bind a little bit, which can slow down the ability to load. When fully loaded take two rounds and pinch them together and you will see what I mean. When you compare this to the jet loader, you will see a big difference. The Jet loader holds the rounds much deeper and you can't pinch the rounds as much adding in your ability to load well under pressure. I would recommend getting one to try it out and I would enjoy seeing your opinion on them. Here is the URL www.buffertech.com/JetLoader-J-Frame-Revolver-Speed-Loader-P40.aspx
Moses Jones do they make one for the 8-shot? I have seen the Jet Loaders before from guys at the range but they used them for competition. Thanks for the link.
Moses Jones they are too flimsy in a way? I don't like putting them in a pocket as one of the moons I had loaded up bent and when I tried to reload it didn't work right so from then on I didn't want to use them for carry.
Skip to 2:30 and stop at 3:00 and then skip to 3:50 and stop at 4:50 skip to 6:02 and stop at 6:48 and then skip to 8:05 and end at 9:50 then skip to 11:50 for the actual commentary on the Speed Beez. There is no problem with comparing and talking about other products, but this should have been titled differently as being such or seriously edited...felt like I was watching a "Nutnfancy" level of video. All I know of Speed Beez is that they are the only Speed loaders for Ruger 22lr revolvers in either 8 or ten shot variants and is meant for just making reloads while plinking faster. As for duty carry and concealed carry I still use HKS as they are the most available and reliable...still on the fence about safari land comps.
Safariland makes a better speedloader than the SpeedBeez. Costs 3 times less, rounds are more secure, and it's even easier to get the cartridges from the loader into the cylinder.
uhm the speed beez..couldnt that post accidentily set off the round?? im sorry but safariland comp 2 speed loaders win for CCW even over the SL variant because its not as bulky, nowhere near as pricey, and the concept is simple as with all three mentioned. put the rounds in. push it. move on with living AND the safariland comp 2 speed loaders also have metal clips that i use inside the pocket for carry. you can not do that and remain inconspicuous with any other speed loader with the same concept
six gun survivor do they make one for the 8-shot? I actually met an armored car guard at the mall who carried a S&W 66 4" re-issued Combat and on his duty belt he had 3 Safariland Comp IIIs which looked huge but he said work very well.
If you're going to talk about a product and show it on camera (and also talk with your hands) please don't hold it in your hands. the loaders never stop moving for us to take a look at..... otherwise good information.
usmc2511 yeah the 327 is cut for moons but the few times I have carried the moons in the pocket it just seems to bend too easily. I have experienced one time where I bent the moon and it would not load into the cylinder right. So...
Umm ....if were just talking about stuff we really want , and then comparing it to something NOBODY CAN GET....I really want this 4K TV I saw thats the size of a wall , However it can NEVER EVER compare to owning a UNICORN !!!

Thanks for the review on the SL Variant
Is this about the SL Variant or the Speed Beez.
I was beginning to wonder that myself.

you need to take apart the S.L. and get measurements on parts so we can 3d print some
Just get a safariland comp 3 with the spring loaded action.
Just decided to "give one of these a shot" for our trusty K-frame used for HD, so thanks for the video. Since we don't carry the S&W, it should be fine for range and the gun safe.

dsgrayco yeah a guy at the club uses the SpeedBeez for hs 22lr hence how I learned about these things. Thanks for your thoughts!
I'm glad you are in love with the SL Varient. But bashing the speed beez for not being the SL Varient isn't a great way to review the Speed Beez.
Speed Beez reinvented the wheel !!! That thing works just like the old Dade Screw Machine loader. Have you ever used them?

There are carry pouches available, kydex by speedbeez for the speed beez, or leather by galco.
***** I don't think they do, sorry. How do the moon clips work for you with the 8 shot?
Yeoman Archer wholeheartedly agree, this is not a review and he spends more time talking about a product I am not looking into...
I absolutely love the Safariland Comp 2. Much easier than an HKS and far less potential for having a pocket of loose rounds like with an HKS
The advantage of the Speed Beez is they make one for my 629 Stealth Hunter where as Safari Land does not.
And the speed beez does make little holsters too
Your not supposed to put the speedbeez speed loader in your pocket, they make a kydex carry pouch.
Oh my god get to the point will ya!
Product is excellent. Price is not competitive.
Safariland loader works like the Variant.
Soon as I tried stripper clips I got rid of my speed loaders.
Greatly appreciate your honesty review.
Is that a rattlesnake in your pocket or are you just happy to see me :P
how about just one item at a time --
Safariland makes a better speedloader than the SpeedBeez. Costs 3 times less, rounds are more secure, and it's even easier to get the cartridges from the loader into the cylinder.
If you're looking for an eight shot loader the best IMHO are from 5 Star Firearms...
uhm the speed beez..couldnt that post accidentily set off the round??
im sorry but safariland comp 2 speed loaders win for CCW even over the SL variant because its not as bulky, nowhere near as pricey, and the concept is simple as with all three mentioned. put the rounds in. push it. move on with living AND the safariland comp 2 speed loaders also have metal clips that i use inside the pocket for carry. you can not do that and remain inconspicuous with any other speed loader with the same concept
six gun survivor looking at it, i guess it cant because the post isnt lined up with the primer. but still. comp2 wins
six gun survivor I agree. The Safariland loaders are thee best thing going in speedloaders IMHO.
six gun survivor do they make one for the 8-shot? I actually met an armored car guard at the mall who carried a S&W 66 4" re-issued Combat and on his duty belt he had 3 Safariland Comp IIIs which looked huge but he said work very well.
***** i dont think they do, these are reasons im more of a traditionalist, if its 5 shots or less or 7 shots or more i dont go with it
If you're going to talk about a product and show it on camera (and also talk with your hands) please don't hold it in your hands. the loaders never stop moving for us to take a look at..... otherwise good information.
Is your 327 compatible with moon clips?
laddjm it is but the moons seem to bend in the pocket for me. Also the 8-shot moon doesn't seem to drop in as easy as say the 45acp. Any thoughts?
Infamous means famous for being bad.
Don't pull/tugg on the rounds and wa la they don't come out!
Anything is bulky with 8 rounds matching a bulky 8 round cylinder.
FWIW, I've been moving to moon clips, It's not real expensive to have the cylinder of your carry gun machined to accept them.
usmc2511 yeah the 327 is cut for moons but the few times I have carried the moons in the pocket it just seems to bend too easily.
Hola me podrias ayudar para conseguir ese mismo speed louders pero para un magnun 357 tauros 7 tiros modelo 627 soi de purto rico
Doe's any 1 other than speed beezs make a speed loader 4 a kimber K6S
Mark Burkhardt safariland and hks both have them.

LMAOO you can’t buy them! I’m out of here. 🦵🏼🦵🏼🦵🏼
Please stop selling something that is not available to be purchased!
I am a FFL dealer and have a distributor connection in Denmark who bought one of the last batches of them ever made. ( they closed up shop) He can get me a few of the N Frame 44 magnum ones and the J Frame .38 special/.357 magnum ones. Costs me about 130 dollars a piece but so worth it.
