    Recently, in a shocking move, G2 has decided to bench JKS in favor of their former IGL nexa to take his role. But is this move's only purpose to find another anchor, or perhaps the start of a much larger roster shift to remove Hooxi? Today we'll be discussing the implication of the nexa move for G2 and what it could potentially mean for G2's future.

    Saw Thorin's video with Nexa and the answer to whether he will IGL or not is pretty much no. He said that he doesn't have the attitude to tell people off and if he'll ever return to the role it won't be anywhere in the near future. I believe that if HooXi gets cut the move for G2 would be to get another IGL like Siuhy or someone else.

    • @WaTzu
      @WaTzu  8 месяцев назад +7

      I would love to, but if I were to do that, I would want to compare their styles during their tenures on G2, and G2 tends to be a bit more egalitarian in their calling than most other teams because of their talents so IGLing styles seem to be a bit more muted than say, boombl4 vs zeus on NAVI

      @@WaTzu oh absolutely, but I think there's still room for analysis there. Especially on the back of Nexa's interview with Thorin. It's an interesting mix of momentum calling from Hooxi, with man management and ego-control, compared to a more traditional space-taking IGL mindset with Nexa.

    I think G2 will replace Hooxi with a real anchor with nexa coming back as an IGL. like I don't think Nexa will be able to replace JKS as an anchor. JKS is actually a very good anchor that fill on other "dirty works" role. And that's I think what makes JKS really important to G2. So I think they will get another player that will fill that role that no one to do. like being alone on a position and defending it without calling help. well, for me, unless you get player like Magisk, Maden or Sushj it will not make any sense.

    2. G2 know HooXi is bad so they are benching jks so nexa can get a feel for the team before they bench HooXi and bring back jks so the igl can get a good understanding of the team’s culture and play

    So I follow G2 quite a bit with JKS at least. Hunter calls most ct side games. Hooxi calls t side. Hunter and swani prep ct, hooxi t. nexa has said for a very long time that he doesnt want to / like IGL'ing. He didnt want to call on OG but he sort of had to because he was able to fit that role. He definitely wants to stop IGL'ing.
    Also one thing you failed to mention. You are comparing jks on a 67% win rate G2 vs nexa on a 33% win rate OG. Losing very frequently and ofte by big margins seriously hurts your stats. Its more naunced than just looking at a floored hltv 2.0 rating.
