Great little tips... I personally would of just got a few more of the guy adjusters and put one on each inner tent corner guy. Saying that the bungee idea is super simple and no doubt reliable.
These are great tips and really useful, much appreciated, so glad i found your channel 👍👌
Thanks Phil!
The thing I’ve never understood about those slip knots on the corners of the bathtub - is yes you can adjust to make loop bigger but the loop will just slip back to its original length anyway. How did your additional bungee work out?
Useful video 😊
The detailed explanation is very good. Where do you buy the tent?
Martinnnnn with another BANGIN video
Also, you have some nice camera equipment in the background there and a lovely photo on the desktop... do you do landscape photography and have there fore been branching into hiking? I'll keep comenting on all your videos :)
Haha yes well spotted! you can find me on www.MartinCastein.com and search Martin Castein on RUclips for my photography channel.
Its beautiful
It is!
lanshan 2 pro is budget nice tent
I thought using a pole set at 125cm to space the first 2 groundsheet pegs was key. So therefore it shouldn't matter if bungie is used🤷🏼♂️
The bungee pulls the floor of the tent tight. The lines that pull out the floor of the tent are adjustable so you can pull them tighter but its clumsy as a system and bungee makes more sense.
👍good tips/mods. The thing I'd love to know is at what angle to peg the floor (and subsequently the flysheet) at in relation to the corners. I've watched many RUclips videos to see how others have done it but there doesn't seem to be any consistency. Surely this angle is critical to tension the tent without any major creases/ripples in the fabric?
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
Hi Paul that’s a good question and I like detail like that, I put mine at about 30 degrees, I think 45 is too much, I should probably do a pitching video actually
@@HikingWithMartin I've wondered about this too. Please do a pitching video, you're ideas seem really useful, cheers.
@@herntonlevels ok pitching video this week coming up
@@HikingWithMartin Now that would be a 'must see' video. 👍
I try to peg it so that the pegs are 'in line' with the seams on the tent. That way you don't stress the seams when tightening the cords.
Hi Martin,
I’m wondering if you can help?
I’ve had my 2 pro out for a 2 nighter and was dead pleased with it. One thing I was wanting to get right was the height of the bathtub.
My bathtub seemed to be ‘flatter’ to the ground instead of upright. I’ve tried changing pole height up and down but seems pretty similar. Any ideas?
Cheers
Jake
id check the tension on the bathtub guy lines in the corners, pulling the corners out should make the walls go up more. try that first.
@@HikingWithMartin
Cheers. Sounds a plan. I’ll test the theory this weekend.
Much appreciated mate ATB
I’ll have to watch the first part again but I can swear that the tying straps for the bathroom floor corners are elastic stretch ties to begin with.
That’s the non pro version, no idea why they changed that.
Mine is the Lanshan 2Pro. Im going to set it up this afternoon, I’ll double check…
@@JRoss707 interesting, it’s single skin yes, no inner tent?
@@HikingWithMartin correct, single walled tent , 3F UL branded from AliExpress
@@JRoss707 ok thats interesting i wonder if they changed this at some point. i might message and ask them.
Thanks for posting all three videos on the lanshan. I just bought it and will definitely "steal" the Bungiecord one and the door-one(but as you suggested I will use hook or something to be able to open both doors). However I was curious to know why you are so adamant that the seam sealing has to be spesific for tents? I've seen a lot of other instructions stating that it's okay to use clear and pure silicone instead (obviously mixed with white spirits)?
Hi there thanks! With the seam sealant the manufacturers themselves make them for different purposes and you need to have one that sticks properly to silnylon, im not convinced the regular household stuff is the same especially given the state of some peoples final results. i have no hard evidence but would rather recommend the correct stuff than advocate something i dont know for sure is correct. The tent stuff is made specifically for tents so i can recommend that with confidence.
@@HikingWithMartin Okay, thanks for the reply:) currently sold out of the tent-spesific ones here in Norway so I was just wondering. I think I'll wait for it to be back in stock instead of using the regular one just to make sure. Thanks again for the good content ✌🏼
@@musikk7521 i would wait as well just to be sure
great video brother. !
Like the idea behind your video. You know what is required to improve the tent.
However, you lost me totally by not erecting the tent showing the original layout, then showing the modification you propose and how it works to improve the tent.
Explain your modification to the audience, then demonstrate it so it becomes clear as to what you want to aceive
noted, thats my inexperience making videos.
@@HikingWithMartin No problem mate. Every day is a school day!!
