    Hello from Brazil. Thanks for the video. I have an enclosure with red footed tortoises ( here they are called Jabuti Piranga) that I adopted from people who could not care for then anymore. Using plants that gives food to then is such a great ideia.

      Thanks Thomas! It was terrible working conditions while building it 😅 90 degrees, extremely humid and lots of mosquitos. Anything to make my torts happier!

    Where on the Space Coast are you? I’m in Melbourne and I’m trying to build an enclosure like yours 🤩

    Any recommendations against predators? I have a lot of cats and mongoose in my neighborhood. Thanks for the great video!

      The best thing you can do is install an electric fence, I’d probably lay the wire close together and do a couple lines per wall. I also use motion sensor floodlights and cameras.

    What's the minimum size or how many months for hatchlings until they are safe to be placed outdoor?

    • @spacecoasttortoise
      @spacecoasttortoise  9 месяцев назад

      I wait until you need two hands to pick the up. Then they are typically too large for any animal to carry them away.

      @@spacecoasttortoise Hello thanks for the response. I live in the tropics and I can say it's predator-free. My concern is if they can be tolerant with the weather outside.

      @@marlonjohn8332 they can take low 50’s at that size overnight as long as they can warm up in the morning. I have a heated house I keep in every enclosure as well.

    I love it. However, it doesn’t look predator proof
