@@ReefDudes what’s so cool is you get a couple fancy ones ultra ones and then they reproduce themselves so it’s kind of fun to see what kind of offspring s they come up with.
My tank heater probe fell out which cause my tank to heat up to 90 degrees before catching it. It caused one of my rockflower to fertilize the tank.... luckily, i only lost a couple pieces of corals
I am in the process of setting up a rock flower/ricoreda/mangrove biotope to mimic the Florida Keys/Carribean where they are found. I am going to have some peterson shrimp and porcelian crabs. I am very excited and have begun to start to my collection. I hope this video doesn't make them the next hot reef critter, lol.
sadly also hard to find where i live, especially such nice colored ones. how do you clean the sand bed with so many on them on the sand? remove them shortly for siphoning?
I found some selling local for 25 bucks a piece and no shipping YAY! I was going to pick up 3 or 4! Do they always huddle together or can they separate into different sections of the tank? I would love to have baby nems and wondering if it would be easy to vacuum them up by accident? I tend to move things around when I vacuum so I can do a good job and really get the tank clean! How are you able to vacuum sand bed with so many? I would love to have the bottom covered like that but no way to really keep nitrates down since I dont have fuge ect..How do you keep urs down in a small tank and probably not able to vacuum real well?
To obtain a tank like his? Easily years in the making. Years of mistakes, experimenting, learning and lots of money. But the journey is so worth it and very rewarding. Within a year of researching and learning from experience, you can have a beautiful reef tank. Quality matters, never go the cheap route. I learned from that mistake.
I’m a bit confused. You talked about how they are anemones but then classify them as soft corrals on several occasions. Anemones are one animal, and are far different than corals. Cheers
Hi mate, I've just broken up a rock with 2 flowers on it as the was being over run with gsp 🤦♂️ I've placed them on a 3mm sand bed. Will they be ok on that or should I put little pieces of rock under them ?? Thanks
I have come home to a rock flower trying to swallow my clown fish. I don't think a perfectly healthy fish would spontaneously die directly over the spot where the anemone happened to catch it. So bizarre.
Flower anemone. Not Rock. That's anemones like aiptasia. And they are not soft corals. :) Might as well get it correct when making a spotlight for education. :)
Wow… the visuals especially at 2:35 were simply awe inspiring. I cannot wait to get a few when my tank is cycled.
Thanks for this information. This is the first time I've ever seen rock flowers and they are now on my must have list.
Absolutely gorgeous Dev. The whole tank, not just the rock nems. 👏👌🏴🐠
Thanks DR! :)
I love these guys so much! My goal is to have an entire collection across the bottom of my tank
Lfs has these guys and have had my eye for a while. Got one a couple weeks ago!
Wow !!! I wish I lived in the US there really hard to find in the U.K.
always lovely to watch!!
Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! They are a bit trickier to find in Canada too
And when you do find them they're crazy expensive, why does everything aquarium related have to be so expensive here
I love all corals. I am a coral freak mania, but out of all the corals on the whole planet rock flower enemies are my favorite.
They are pretty awesome!

beautiful tank! I recently fell in love with rock flower anemones, Only have 2 at the moment but looking to get more of different colors

Awesome vid Dev! Ive recently got one in my 60G. Didn’t realise you add multiples without issues. I will be 100% getting some more now 😀
You will be stocked up in no time :P

Cool I have a few ultras great anemones!
Nice!!!

I just asked the same question! LOL
Amazing video. Very nice and informative
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for the great information
Happy to help
Ya buddy 🤙, good vid as always Dev 👌
Thanks 👍Thanks!:D

Wicked deal! Yes be careful not to suck up babies. They tend to start under the skirt of the mom.
Great video and very informative. One question though, can you mixed them with bulb tip anemone in the same system?
Yes you can :)
@@ReefDudes awesome.👍
If you have too many of them and want to remove the extras, how do you remove them from the rock/sand?
Thank you been thinking about getting one. 😃
You should! They add some nice color to the tank and are super easy
Wow, you have some really nice ones in there! We rarely see them in the UK, I have a couple but nowhere near as nice as some of yours 😍
Agreed. I never see them in any lfs
Great info, Cheers 👍
We just got a diamond goby , he was out for about two days, you can tell he’s been cleaning, but now we can’t find him anywhere, do they hide a lot
Great video. thanks
For someone just getting into the hobby what is a realistic expectation to have a tank this stunning. Im sure this is years in the making.
They are very hardy and easy to keep. A rock flower tank would be low maintenance, easy and beautiful!

With regards to flow, you mentioned you kept them in super low to super high flow, did they move less when you put them in low flow?
How do you clean the sand bed?
Can you keep these with puffers?
Beautiful

Plus how long would it take for them to plant there foot and get back to original size please
Thanks
They will plant their foot on the glass. Generally so in a few hours as long as the flow isn’t blowing them around
How many did you buy, and how many sprouted in your tank? Also, what is the yellow sps encrusted on the left?
I have bought many over the years so hard to say. at what point in the video? Pretty sure you mean the rainbow monti :)
Yes that's probably what it is. I'll have to find somewhere to buy one. Thank you.
One clean tank
Thank you!
How do you make sure they are good to go in your tank once you purchase them? Do you dip them? If so, in what?
I did dip mine in iodine but prob not required
Never dip an anemone. You’ll kill it
Hey Davin, how’s your rock flower anemones?
Split up across different tanks now but doing good!
What do u feed your Mandan
pods and mysis
I had 5 and they had babies I had hundreds different colors very easy.
Heck yes!!!!!!!!!!!! gotta love that!
You said they are soft corals, so are they anemones or are they corals?
Do sexy shrimp eat the babies when the anemones spawn?????
Normally I wouldn’t think so … however if they were underfed and hungry most creatures will be more opportunistic
I need lots 😂❤
I have come home to a rock flower trying to swallow my clown fish. I don't think a perfectly healthy fish would spontaneously die directly over the spot where the anemone happened to catch it. So bizarre.
Very bizarre. I would think it had another issue that took it out over a rock flower catching it
We’re is a good place to buy good cheap rfas. All the ones around me cost around 60-75 dollars.
Just have to keep an eye out. Pretty cheap in Florida abs get more expensive as you go out
Ebay
60-65$ jeez that’s crazy. I just picked up two for $10.
@@leeboswell8483 in uk its hard to find any coral below that price
This rfa can kill some corals?
What happens if they sting a person?
I have not noticed any sting from it.. so going to go with nothing.. but im sure some may be more sensitive
I thought they are inverts and not coral?
Yes to all! They kind of fall under both classifications.
Thanks for the informative video. They are not soft corals though. They are anemones.
These things could survive a nuclear winter, I swear.
🤔🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rock On
Should of said something I would of sent you a video of mine spawning
Should have! I know I have clips somewhere but couldn’t find them last night when I was editing
They can be cheap, but your electric bill won't be! WANT LESS!
Flower anemone. Not Rock. That's anemones like aiptasia. And they are not soft corals. :) Might as well get it correct when making a spotlight for education. :)
They are an invert and a coral with respect to being photosynthetic as well.
@@ReefDudes So photosynthetic jellyfish are also coral? And photosynthetic nudibranchs (yes they exist) and photosynthetic sponges?
@@TattooedDancer91 They are an anemone they are their own category
@@ReefDudes Exactly, and therefore not coral.
Rock flower anemone!
