What are some of the well known companies that produce chalices? Are there certain brands that are preferred over others?

Why are so many chalices fake gold? Jesus could not afford gold his cup was most likely clay ?

Rules for mass, general instruction of the Roman Missal state that chalices must be made from precious metal or at the very least, gilded in the inside. They cannot rust or be made from breakable material. I’d imagine that ceramic or anything potential rusty may be porus and that wouldn’t be appropriate for holding the precious blood. Having served mass for many years, our church still uses chalices from the 1800s. Hardy, beautiful, hygenic, respectful, easy to clean, last indefinitely if cared for. Makes total sense.
