- Join us: Peter (my dad), Anna (my aunt), and myself on a fun holiday to Hamilton Island, Australia!
It's my second trip but my aunts first so dad and I show her a good time on the island. We stayed in a house on the western side of the island which came with a golf buggy. On Hamilton Island there are no cars so everyone drives golf buggies around which is quite a weird sight! We hung around the pool, beach, went to Hamilton Islands championship gold course for lunch, went to the reef to snorkel and of course Whitehaven Beach. Great video! I'm headed there from the US in Mid-March and have been super worried that it will be raining the whole time. Glad to see you had some nice sun! Also heard it's stinger season there...hopefully I'll make it out alive 🤣
You’ll love it! It technically is rainy season but if it does rain you’ll find it might just storm in the afternoon but be sunny for the rest of the day. I’ve been there a few times around March and it’s barely rained. If you go to any reefs or away from Hamilton island you’ll have to wear stinger suits but it’s generally fine swimming at the beach by late March.

Looks amazing! I am going in October, cannot wait! What time did you find the sun set there? I am from Melbourne so always sets late in the spring/summer!
So we were there in March and the sun set around 6/6:30. There’s no daylight savings in Queensland and the days in summer are much shorter than in the south
I absolutely love how you filmed this vlog. You show the scenery and activities you’re doing instead of talking for 30 minutes and calling it a “vlog”. Really sold Hamilton Island to me. I’m considering going. You deserve more views than the stupid influencers 💛

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I used a mixture between my canon r6 with a shotgun mic which I “vlogged with” and then my iPhone 13 pro for some b roll and my GoPro hero 9 for all the water activities.
I really wanted to capture the island itself and also show my family and I have a good time and being silly and still try and make it fairly entertaining. I appreciate your feedback. 😊

May I ask where you stayed and where you’ve decided to stay next time?
We stayed at Shorlines 24 which is a 2 bedroom house on the western side of the island. It was really good but next time we want to stay on the eastern side which is more ‘resort style’ and where the nice beach is (Catseye Beach). We are staying in the frangipani apartments in a 3 bedroom apartment. I noticed some are renovated and some are quite dated so I made sure to book the newly renovated one. 😊

We stayed in a holiday rental house called shorelines. It’s on the west side of the island
