Safety Squat Bar Strap

The Spud Inc. Safety Squat Bar Strap is the perfect strap to keep in your gym bag if you don't want to fork out the cash for a safety squat bar or your gym doesn't have one. The Safety Squat Bar Strap is simple to use and just attaches to any straight bar. Don't worry, the Safety Squat Bar Strap does not make squatting any easier than using a normal safety squat bar. I like the concept of a safety squat bar because it leaves your hands free to grab the sides of the squat rack for a little extra stability and assistance, if needed. I'm 78 years old. I notice that these straps don't give you that hands free ability. Now if they only made a safety squat bar for standard 1" plates...

I was just about to buy a SSB when I stumbled across this video. Bought your strap instead - looking forward to using it and getting back to actual squatting!
I had tried using regular moving straps, but they slid too much and I couldn't keep the bar tight. Hoping your velcro fixes that problem.

@@FrankZen The good news: I've been able to add squats back to my workout routine (shoulder pain prevented me from doing them previously). It took some time to figure out how to best adjust the straps and apply the right pressure to keep the bar positioned properly on my back (I like the low back squat position) and I'm not sure I have it 100% correct yet, but it feels good.
The regular moving straps didn't feel like they "locked" onto the bar. With this device the straps are attached to the piece that is wedged between my back and the bar. Not sure if I"m making sense, but it feels more "secure" than the plain moving straps did.
Overall worth the purchase.

Looks like there’s enough slack to get your arms out of the straps if needed. Just got my strap in the mail. Testing this week.
