Dosha having attack that's him going out of his way to grab one of the small herd monsters just so he can throw it at you is so outta pocket but I love it. Dude is a menace
Given the track record of numbered titles since like 4 I honest to goodness went in expecting this man to be a trip happy jokester since he’s an early game monster. I was NOT expecting patterns nearly on par with demo Magna from this guy plus he’s supremely active even though he’s a bit slow. Very happy to see this brand of gameplay from you; this Beta dropped at the worst possible time for me so I had to sloppily speed play everything over one long session so I couldn’t experiment much with offset, which you demonstrated nicely here. Hammer felt super nice from what I played. Hope we have some solo friendly options at launch to make it more run friendly; feel confident speaking for everyone when I say we look forward to seeing you cook 🙏 (Apologies for dropping essays in your comments LMAO)
I don't mind the bibles especially coming from you on the contrary :b I appreciate the kind comments, I'm eagerly waiting for the game to come out and make a guide and lots of videos.
I was also pleasantly surprised by Dosha. It's not overwhelmingly difficult or anything but you really gotta respect it when it gets enraged or you'll go from full health to red VERY fast. That ground slam/ rip up move he does is brutal.
Completely agree about Doshaguma. You really gotta fight this thing yourself to understand how complex it is, the trailers just can't do it justice. I was surprised at the overall quality of monsters in the beta, I like them all.
Gosh i missed Lynn's Hammer runs!! This really hit the spot 😌👌! I got the most chance to fight Dosha but not enough to form a well-rounded opinion of the monster! Really interested in hearing your take so I came here & read the description 😊 Great quality bonking as always, Lynn! Congrats on Sub 7 🥳
Really happy to see this kinda new way to play hammer. Not just charging all the time but doing combos mixed with golfswing offsets and the new powerful smash charge move! Shame didn't try hammer more but got a good taste so there is something to wait for!
Always had a soft spot for hammer as a gunlancer and the display of skill here was great. (Also your character looks very nice. It took me so long to get my character to point i deemed acceptable.)
I really like that this hammer relies less on walking and charging and use more of its moveset. I hope big bang will be improved cause it'd be sad for it to be almost useless two game in a row. Also do you think the chain into spinning attack will be useful in the future ? At last nice run !!
Don't see much use for spinning bludgeon right now, it's even worse to aim than ever before and just takes too long to perform for mediocre damage despite the slightly stronger golfswing at the end
Honestly I think Doshaguma is one of my favorite monsters to fight in the beta. His moves are fun to learn and work around while still keeping good momentum. He’s also just a great monster in general with a simple yet effective design. I also like it when he gets super pissed and his muscles swell and he does that big ass roar with the wounds opening up. Greta monster overall and I hope people come to appreciate him more (despite him being all over the promotional material kinda like Anjanath for world which is also a top tier monster for me)
To point out the Rey Dau discrepancy. I feel like this game is finally bringing back significant matchup variety like the old days in 2nd Gen. For example, I think Rey is a really hard fight with slow weapons like Lance and Greatsword but really easy with faster weapons like SnS and Hammer. On the other hand Doshaguma is really hard with a weapon like that relies on Offset Attacks like Hammer but kind of a pushover with Lance because of the Clash and guarding through everything.
yeah when doshaguma claps me up I take my frustration out on Rey Dau 😤 Agreed that Dosha is very unique and his fight is designed well. Rey Dau isn’t a bad fight by any means, but a flying wyvern is a flying wyvern. Good tidings for other new monsters! Nice run!
devil jho has got to show up in this game with how they have that small monster throw tech in LOL also this is a lot of work for a like a azurous level monster
something feels off with the lv2 charge upswing...it doesn't seem to pack a nice punch like it used to i feel like it came out like an uppercut back in World/IB to fish out those flinch/staggers : /
Great run! The minions of his are super annoying to have to stink away at the start of the fight tho. Do you have any tips or explanation for the offset attack and how to avoid taking damage during it? I keep successfully timing it but it doesn't matter apparently
Right now it just seems random to me, I thought it would be based on your timing, like perfectly timed offsets protecting you from damage but even in this run you can see that is not the case. So for now, I'm not sure
@dynamo_lynn i hope they change that cause it seems to defeat the purpose to get punished for successfully timing a parry. I lost a decent run because I died doing offset, so it doesn't even leave you with 1 hp
I got an AMD Ryzen 7 5800x, an RTX 3080, 32 RAM and 10 VRAM. The beta ran and looked the best for me with AMD FSR3 and Native quality, despite there being still a lot of ghosting
Doshaguma's tail can be severed (a big chunk gets cut off) however, it doesn't fall on the ground and it cannot be carved, so it's more like a tail break.
He definitely is harder than Rey Dau. Rey has slow and telegraphed attacks and after big attacks does nothing so you can just wail on him. Doshuguma has faster attacks that hit like a truck and is also much harder to hit. I think Doshugumas attacks also track the hunter just like in Rise.
Great run! I love the new hammer, but have some small critisims. I think charge 3 feels bad. Low damage for a long windup. I would have like the rise charge 3 from strength hammer to return. Second I think that its really cool to combo spinning bludgeon after a lot of moves, but honestly there is no reason to (Asside from that its cool). Maybe they should speed up the spinning bludgeon or increase the damage. Lastly I think the sliding attack feels off. I like that it is less oppressive, but I can never land it. That being said, I love it nevertheless and will be maining it again!
Sliding is terrible You need twice the distance to active it so no instant charge from world and you move as such fast speed that it hard to even aim your self it like playing on a field of ice Plus damage being terrible and it ruins the set up for mighty
@ yeah I found it is better to slide, then jump during the slide and hit the monster from there. Depending on the charge you can then combo the golfswing that follows (after the arial attack) into mighty charge
Uppon closer inspection based on the Motion Values extracted from the game, it seems like Big Bang actually has the exact same MVs as in Monster Hunter World. So it's not that it's bad per se, it's that it is now outperformed by a new combo (Golfswing combo into Mighty 2) which is the exact same situation as in Sunbreak, where the level 3 Charge on Strength Hammer and the Courage combos were stronger than Big Bang.
Playing hammer in wilds feels off It's like they took the GS TCS spam meta from world and applied it to hammer It feels like there's only one way to play it now mighty spam
Idk... You see me use pretty much the entire moveset here, every move is useful beside maybe spinning bludgeon (it has never been so idk why they keep around) so I like it so far
Dosha having attack that's him going out of his way to grab one of the small herd monsters just so he can throw it at you is so outta pocket but I love it. Dude is a menace
Doshaguma has so much testosterone that his acne bursts when he gets pissed
Oh so that's what that is

Best Hammer gameplay I’ve seen! Great work!!! I’m so hyped for this game to come out!

I thought I was crazy at first when Doshaguma felt way harder than Rey Dau, but I'm glad to see it isn't just me who thinks so!
They made a "tutorial" monster with a super-enrage state. Let that sink in. Great run.
I don't think Dosha is a tutorial monster. He's probably more like Anjanath, the first real wall in the game.
I really like that this hammer relies less on walking and charging and use more of its moveset.

Making hammer less around charging seems like bad idea
The charge mechanic is basically gutted from what is was in world

ive seen people do 4x big bang into mighty charge during KOs, it kinda utilizes perfect duration of the KO. wdyt of it?
