Thank you for watching this video about how to travel light for weeks with only a carry-on luggage xx
Used to be an overpacker, but I’ve “seen the error of my ways” 😂
Recently I’ve even packed for my ten year-old and myself for two weeks in Tokyo, using a carry-on luggage plus a backpack. It was autumn too!
What changed was:
1. Giving myself a half-day upon arrival to buy anything unanticipated (though so far, I’ve never needed to)
2. Packing cubes + rolling clothes, packing a capsule wardrobe.
3. Prioritising staying at a hotel with washing machines available.
This allows me to pack only 4-5 days’ worth of clothes, and do laundry BEFORE going home, so there’s less laundry to do when back from holidays, a total win!
Honestly, it is so liberating to pack less. Hard to go back.
Those are fantastic tips! Thank you for sharing xx
I really enjoyed all your tips and would love to see how you pack your items in a separate video and the skincare that you would bring as well.
Thank you! Xx
Sometimes I like to buy some stuff on trips, but I still want to use a carry-on and make the most of it. A neat trick is to bring a vacuum bag (with a small pump) and gradually to put dirty clothes in a vacuum bag; it makes spaces for anything you want to bring back (and you can even have two bags to separate laundry lol)
Fabulous tip! Thank you fro sharing xx
This is what I do too and it works SO well.
You always look beautiful. Hope you enjoyed your trip with your family ❤
Thank you so much!!xx
I am a light packer. I have watched a lot of travel tip videos and other travel hack videos and my last trip I only over packed by one item because I never wore the shirt I brought. It is nice to pack light because there is more room for the stuff that your daughter brings home in your bag for friends. Thanks for the tips and travel scenes too.
❤️
Love the song at the end of your video!
-The only downside to just a carry-on that we recently had is if you're in a higher 'zone' on the plane, depending on how they board, you could end up having to check your carry-on anyway... We had to do this coming back from our trip, we were one of the last zones to board so the overhead space was gone, I was LIVID! Especially when we got to our second plane after our layover, there was a ton of empty space. When we plan for future trips, we will make sure we're no further back than row 10.
-I'm doing the post-trip checklist & yes, even in a carry-on I still took a few extra things I could have skipped & some things I wore twice so I could have taken less. I do have a pair of 'footbeds' that are very similar to the Birkenstocks & other than my white sneakers for the plane there & back, I wore those sandals for the entire trip.
-We usually find a store when we get where we're going to buy our full-size shampoo/conditioner/body wash, then with both of us using them, by the end of the week they're nearly if not completely empty, this time I took the silicone travel pack & took my own, they leaked... At least they were in their own zipper bag so they didn't get all over everything but no, next trip we'll go back to buying our stuff when we get where we're going.
-I bought & took a really small travel jewelry thing with a few extra pairs of earrings & bracelets, other than moving it from the carry-on to my purse, I opened it one time throughout the entire week, next time it's staying home.
These are really good tips! Thank you for sharing xx
It's really rare to come across a mother that doesn't overpack. My mum's (over)packing is based on the 101 emergencies her family members are likely to run into. 😅
Haha I have a small emergency medication bag and that's about it xx
You are truly so lovely and elegant. Thanks for another great video!
Thank you so much!xx
My husband and I are taking our first trip to England at the end of September. We will both use our own carry-on luggage. What is the brand of luggage that you use? Most of our stay will be in London, so I imagine that we will be doing some shopping. Any areas that you can suggest? However, the main purpose for our trip is to embrace the history of England, especially the Beatles!!! Thanks for sharing these tips.
i love when people travel with their lux bags. however I cannot. I am so on the go and don't want to worry about them and to be honest there are times I go to sketchy locations. lululemon fanny pack has been a live changer. i also, only travel with a carry on.
Thank you so much for sharing xx
It’s genuinely never occurred to me to pack into a carry one then transfer to the checked bag to avoid overpacking. Thats genius!
Thank you for this video. I want to explore packing into a smaller luggage first before trf into a big luggage. Priority for me is to pack my twin girls stuffs (both 4YO). Now my stuffs becomes the least priority 😂. My trip to China in April, I packed lesser clothing and good thing our service aprt comes with a washer / dryer. Do you agree when traveling to cooler climate for holiday we don’t need to pack so much clothing? For me, even to a cold countries , I still ensure everyday wear diff outfit (that’s me in the past) hahaha
Will be traveling to Hokkaido during Summer. Wish to pack light ❤😅.
It is one of the most difficult things to do, for me, packing for travel. I always have the best of intentions for packing light. I have yet to achieve it.
I used to be the same too! Packing light is something I only started doing about 4 years ago xx
Great video, thanks. I Love your sunglasses, I know you have mentioned them in the past but would you mind telling me the brand and model, Please.
They're from the HER collection xx
Thanks for sharing! Do your mind sharing the swimsuits you wore? Where are they from? Thanks again
Me… the overpacker. Thank you for all the great tips.
Thank you for being here xx
Great tips ❤😊
Thank you xx
@@ColourfulNoir your welcome
Thanks for sharing!. Love your GM glasses. What model you get? Looks good on you! Thinking to get one for my self as well. As I have low bridge and small nose😅
They are from the HER collection xx
excellent video!
Thank you very much!xx
I’ve experienced packing too light and having to actually borrow clothing from friends and also overpacking to the point that it’s heavy and tiresome for no good reason. So I’m just very cautious to ensure that everything I bring is enough and I’m not lacking. I pack enough to fit into a cabin bag only (or my husband and I share 1 medium suitcase if checking in). I’ve learnt that unless it’s an event, no point packing heels and unless I’m planning to hike, no point packing hiking boots. 1 pair of Comfy stylish trainers and 1 pair of loafers/mules/Mary janes for summer is good enough (or a knee high boots & a ankle(or hiking) boot if it’s winter).
Maldives? Great advice as always.
What’s really liberating is when your kid(s) can also travel only with carry on luggage!
Some links don’t work 😢
Some pieces might have sold out xx
