@Habibibti yes, I believe we started in 07 and the release was 08. I just saw one copy on ebay, Amazon, and wildeyes production, which is the company I shot for. Owned by the cousin of Mark Bowden, the writer of the documentary, also author of Blackhawk down.
Nice reaction, my uncle served in the Philippine Navy 1979 - 2013 as a member of NAVSOG. It's always nice talking and asking about his time in the Navy. He's been my role model for my preferred career along with my other relative who is former Scout Ranger (now serving as a member of the Light Reaction Regiment). Coming from a family that's predominantly military, I'll join the AFP when I finish my college education and make them proud
Man, it sounds like you had some great people to look up to. Those are going to be some big shoes to feel. I wish everyone had joined and served for at least three (3) years. It builds character. Which service do you plan on going into? Thanks for watching 🤙

Philippines and USA annually stage exercises called “balikatan “ or shoulder to shoulder, these guys are trained just in case there’s a massive crisis in Asia and the United States have to be involved, that these special forces can conduct combined arms with the American military, which means the two armies doctrine aren’t far from one another..
almost all special forces training and basic military training is patterned after the US military... our generals are even schooled in west point. The United States has a great influence in the development of special forces in the philippine armed forces.
Yeah, I knew that the US did have an influence...I just wasn't aware of how much. The more I watch, the more training and tactics I recognize. Thanks for watching! 🤙
• So far this is the newest one i've seen. The mention of "Isnilon Hapilon", that guy is the Maute-ISIS leader that was killed back in 2017 along with the other foreign one when they siege Marawi City. • I reckon you've heard or read about the Light Reaction Regiment (LRR), the one you probably were talking about in the end of the video. Actually LRR is a unit under SOCOM (The Army) so they are not related to NAVSOG but I've seen them train together as they are Filipinos' most recognized unit, dubbed as the "Delta Force" of the Philippines. I'll be honest, they are not as well equipped as American Delta Force but they are given the same level of task or risk according to sir Francis Villanueva. • I have a negative politically inclined matter to bring up regards the LRR, several weeks ago, we have this "Degamo slay" trending in the local news.. Where a politician was assassinated in his own compound by highly trained and well armed intruders. Suspects are identified later on and found out some are AWOL members of the LRR. The government locked down the city where it happened and deployed active members of the LRR along with battalions of Army, and PNP-SAF troops, stationed in the city to hunt the suspects, it was that intense because they know how capable these men are. Raid after raid and they recovered even RPGs from these guys.
Hey @weien1597 I hope all is well. I just posted a video that was shot in Marawi City back in 2017. The video did reference Maute-ISIS leader, but it was removed during the editing. I have read about the Light Reaction Regiment (LRR) but it’s been sometime. The hard thing about some of these elite unit’s is actually finding solid video or documentaries about their training (understandable.) I am not familiar with “Degamo Slay” but I’ll check it out. As always, it's good to hear from you and we’ll see you on the next one!
the only major difference of US and Philippine SEALs is the weather temperature, Philippines has scorching weather, imagine training with that for months😅
To my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong. They recently changed their name from NAVSOG to NAVSOCOM operators. And they are divided into 5 units. The SEAL unit, diving unit, EOD unit, combat support unit and boat unit.
nope. The LRR is the tier 1 Counter Terror Unit of the Army SOCOM, while the Scout Ranger is in the bottom rung. Both units are trained now for urban and jungle, but the difference lie on their specialization.

Great question @jpsaints5821! I'm gonna answer it even though I'm a bit biased. The seals and green berets both have very different missions and skill sets. The Navy Seals (minus team 6) are used for a lot of direct action and HVT hits. I'm sure they're very skilled in parachuting, diving, and room clearing, which is needed! The green berets (I'm biased) are a jack of all trades and an ace at none. They all learn to speak another language, extensive training in adapting to your surroundings, and the ability to train foreign Militas. In my opinion, they are underestimated.
@@jointbasepodcast very accurate description. I concur with your statement I’ve meet some baret that was seals haha. He said it’s harder to get in baret then going to seals”
All elite military units in the Philippines are the love child from the US Armed Forces like the Philippines FSRR is to 75RR. The LRR is to Delta, the SF is same with SF. Also the Marines have MARSOG to the US MARSOC.
