this looks like a training video or a video for recruitment! still enjoy watching these different videos that explain what they do (haven't hit halfway point yet in the video, so maybe there will be something crazy or different later on) edit: i really enjoyed the conclusion where the individual is the priority

That’s right! Our Marsog have pixilated faces. They developed that during training 😂

It would be very difficult to find a video about the selection process. Even I, who is in the Philippine Marines Reserve, have no idea how their selection is done.
There was a time that I was going home from HQ wherein I shared a cab ride with a MARSOG, he told me his story of how they infiltrated the river in Marawi (He just recently came home during that time in 2017), which they had a difficult time to do and had to swim at night. MARSOG guys ARE the chillest dudes I have ever met..

Yeah, they need to keep something private. I get it. Thanks for sharing your story. Most special ops, guys, are super good dudes. I did a short video of Marawi. Check it out here - ruclips.net/video/81YF9ir_c2w/видео.html
Thanks for serving bro, take care.

Thank you for recognizing the PMC.
Even us in the Philippine Marine Reserve you go through Navy BCMC first. After graduating you can apply and be evaluated for MROT (Marine Reservist Orientstion Training) for another evolution.

With all due respect to all special forces tranings in other countries including the USA, Philippines’ special forces traning is comparable if not better than other countries. Honestly and unfortunately however, if we lack modern equipment and technology

    • @jointbasepodcast
      @jointbasepodcast  Год назад +3

The Philippines military is no joke. A lot of the training is directly mirrored off the US. I did a reaction over the Philippines Airborne School. Very impressive! They lacked the modern equipment, but they made up for it in creative thinking. Thanks for your feedback and for watching! 🤙

I'm guessing this is documented the same year as the Scout Rangers video (2012), or maybe I'm really just not familiar with the operations that he mentioned. (i'm fairly certain this isn't documented from 2016 onwards)
Peq-4, yeah even today some still use old peqs in our AFP in general. You'll even see the very old PVS-23 still being used here. If you'll see newer peq models, most likely they bought it from their own salary, as far as i can tell only the NAVSOG gets standard issued new laser systems and dual tube nvgs, also maybe our LRR from the Army SOCOM.
Mono tube NVGs are standard issued to everyone these days. I'd say we're luckier than Russians.
I can't help but compare how well equipped the Marines (regular units) today than our Army regular forces,
while QRF battalions from both Army and Marines understandably get newer equipments equally or sometimes better than what the SOFs have
you'll be surprised about the disparity of equipments.
About the cqb training in that video, I'm pretty sure it was just for good camera show/footage, probably scripted.
I would recommend you get some insight from the Balikatan 2023, 12,000 americans, 5,000 Filipinos, 111 Aussies, and Japanese self defense force as observers are all in this years joint exercise.
I'm pretty sure AFP will show our latest equipments there and the impression you'll get about the infantry is the generic soldier you'll see here off cam.

      @jointbasepodcast  Год назад +1

Hey man, good to hear from you again. You always provide great feedback. That’s probably a pretty decent time frame on the video. Very well put together.
Yeah, I never had issues with my PEQ-4s. However, that was like 15 years ago. When I first came in, I was debating between the Army and the Marine Corps. Honestly, the Army just gets top-of-the-line gear. It’s insane! Of course, that just makes the Marines better at adapting and overcoming.
I am just as shocked as you man. We have National Guard guys that don’t even know how to use their gear. The budget and equipment should be handled differently. The gear should go to the guys who need it and can benefit from it.
You’re probably right on CQB. It just makes a good B roll. I am torn between different CQB methods all the time as I have been training both military and civilian (SWAT School) for so long.
I’ll check it out @weien1597. See you at the next one!

@@jointbasepodcast i can't find any updated documentation or even just the selection of MARSOG uploaded here in youtube, I can compile videos from personal accounts who upload their experiences in tiktok but I'm not going to do that.
However, I will put up some links here from a well known enthusiast in our military community, the channel is more popular on Facebook as we Filipinos always use it.
It is not really the kind videos you may acquire lots of info, but I'm sharing it just to give you insight what equipments our military currently field.

      MARSOG in Balikatan 2022
*note: MARSOG get issued mostly American company made body armor,
while our QRF Marines like Marine Battalion Landing Teams (MBLT-6, MBLT-3, and MBLT-1) gets issued equipments Israeli made body armor which I will link here a post in fb:

Philippine Army Light Reaction Regiment (LRR) 3:50 - 4:57
Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG) 4:58 - 5:38
*note: only this year I've seen more SOCOM members gets issued with TeamWendy's Exfil ballistic helmets
*note:Regular forces in the army is now receiving as standardization replacement for the old PASGTs, helmets with a mount for nvg and a body armor, from India
      ___
I'm no expert in CQB but i want to express my opinion about it. I feel like the military or law enforcement should train more with actual OPFOR, it's so hectic but practical compare to just shooting static target in the rooms who don't really react. Airsoft or simmunition (prefer airsoft, just cheaper)

Not so many are given a chance to be part of MARSOG,PSR,PSF,NAVSOG, And Other Army Special Unit is because of the Criterias needed. Not all are given that Mentality and Physicality. TRAININGS ARE NOT what you actually saw in videos BUT just a small part of the whole training.and Real Hell goes OFF-Cam.
That's why around 100K are active but around 1.2M are Ready-Reserve.but these Reserve are well-built for AFP.

Hey @newbieme3626, thanks for commenting and watching. I agree that once the cameras turned on, they turned it down a bit.
I tell a lot of people that most of the special ops guys are built differently. They can run, shoot, speak multiple languages, and are still sharp as a tac.
See you on the next one.
