I'ma gonna just half to go with the BMW I4 M50 sedan. IDK...I could just be deranged just as well. However, I do like how the "source" their materials for the EV front.

maybe time for you to forget about your preferences and take more care for those who buy and pay. Leather is available and is part of the life cycle even in germany where people make their living from using leather . I drive an EV and I want the choice to get a good leather interior. I do not care about vegan salad eater as long as I can get what I what to eat.
Simple as that.
I do not want plastic leather and I even pay a lot for selfmade vegan leather accessories like a genuine leather case for my phone. It does not wear out like all the plastic ones, quite the opposite: the older it gets the better it looks .

I like the ID.7 the best here.
For me, i Will chose the Nio ET5 Touring...
"Interior of both of the cars are exciting..." For my taste they play in a completely different league! Tesla interior is a plain desert. Nr. 1 thing, that keeps me out of considering that car.

Here in the US, I can appreciate that other body styles have taken substantial market share from the sedan, but I've always been a sedan guy and I'm looking for my first EV. This video is just what I need and unique on RUclips! I was pretty set on the Ioniq 6 but that ID7 is beautiful.
ID7 (Variant) looks like a good package, hopefully the ID.4 will be upgraded, too. Nio with leased battery looks like the safest bet. Good to see how far Merc and BMW have gone, nice cars.
There may be likes and dislikes in the design part of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 but in many ways I'm going to Hyundai

Thorough and informative as always! Very happy with the driving and range of our Ioniq 6 AWD. Get the 18" wheels as they make a substantial difference in range. For a mix of small city/highway driving we are getting around mid 13's kWh/100km. For highway driving with mountains but no autobahn we get mid 14's. There is a new Polestar 2 RWD and it looks promising with some pretty amazing range numbers in early testing. As far as Tesla goes . . . nice car but just can't get over that smell. The Volksy looks interesting and again await more real world testing.

According to a Google search, the ID7 will start at $50,000 in the US. I drive a 2010 Audi A6 now and although it would be great to move into the new A6 EV (starting at $80,0000) when it is released, the ID7 would get me much of the way there for $30,000 less!
Describing the ID7 interior as being "lighter and less complicated" that the EQE is the perfect description. Maybe it's because I currently drive an Audi, but I feel like I could just jump into the ID7 and go, whereas the EQE (although stunning) would take some getting used to.

Et5 no doubt. Its the best looking,got german build quality( because german build quality is the best), can fast charge anywhere+ swap battery( which keeps the value of the car higher for a longer period of time). 0-100 km/t in NOT 4 seconds as advertised, but 3,59 seconds:)))😊😊😊😊 7,1 surround sound and nomi. Nomi voice commands are nuts, don’t even need to touch or look at the screen while driving.

Taycan and etron gt are true sportscars and offer even better handling, comfort however is surely not better
Taycan is not good, if you buy EVs, go for Tesla or Chinese brands.

I’ll nvr understand this EV sedan madness. This type of car model was only almost extinct. Just because Tesla reintroduced sedans all brands need to have them. At least Nio is brave enough to introduce a wagon. Do like your reviews tho, but the market needs to make some changes and start to bring out more practical cars. ( maybe i am just getting old )
The Tesla would always have the edge because of the superchargers and driving range …

Tbh I would pick the bmw i4, it’s the perfect balance btw comfort, sport, luxury and looks.
Try sitting in the back seats of one. It is terrible for comfort.
The efficiency is pretty great too. I'm getting about 3.8-3.9mi/kwh now with warmer temps. That's about 305-315mi at 70mph with 19 inch wheels.
@@jimj2683 it’s actually pretty decent. I’m 5.8 and I was pretty comfortable…. Ok, not as comfortable as my 5 series but still.
The only problem is that it's incredibly ugly. Looks like a BMW parody like most of their new models. Ridiculous.

The Merc is the best choice amongst this class. The EQE's luxury & comfort is the best hands down. Acceleration & handling are great for a large sedan with 300+ miles of EPA rates range. Thanks for the informative & entertaining video, Thomas!

Drum breaks on a VW flagship sedan in 2023/24 really bothers me. Just makes me wonder what other components they decided to cheapen.
Why? If it does its job even better then a disc break?
@@bavariancarenthusiast2722 Better is a matter of perception but the tech is cheap due to being old/out dated. Such blatant cost cuts on a vehicle of that caliber are unacceptable. There's a reason no other manufacturer (outside of VAG) is using them...
@@pjandrews13 Well that's not the point I am making - it made sense to me for 2 reasons, one is - due to recuperation breaks are much less used / need much less stopping power, so they get rusty and in case work worse. If you have drum breaks in the back they keep always "clean" self serviced and just work. No breaking test show that they are worse but long term they work better.
@@bavariancarenthusiast2722 your points are valid, however drums and their problems will become apparent with the open differential and torque vectoring as well as braking from high speeds. Drums are okay on an ID.3, not an ID.7. I'm buying an ID.7 for a premium experience. I'm okay with paying for more expensive brakes.

All test vehicles feel like a downgrade, but cost 20% more.
I am looking forward to my first e-car, but what is offered here is simply ridiculous. I hope the German manufacturers live to see the next generation, but experience shows (see Nokia, Blackberry, Sony etc) that today's world does not forgive a decade of failure.
Dramatic for the once leading car nation. What is particularly irritating is what Mercedes is delivering and that these weaknesses have been adopted for the still functioning internal combustion engines.

The BEV market is becoming very competitive but my money has already been allocated to the 2025/2026 Neue Klasse. BMW 3-Series. BMW BEVs and their take on autonomous driving. BMW has been most consistent in terms of brand virtues.

@@autogefuehl you are right on this one. Drivers going from downtown LA to San Francisco with FSD with no interventions. Try that with the Volvo or any other car.
Trust me in Europe the system has so many failures, i personally had 2 full brakes on full Autobahn speed almost causing crashes; i need to test it in the US, or maybe I should do video on exact Autopilot EU vs US in Tesla. Would be interesting. I wonder if thats just lacking cloud data or if its regulation or both
@@autogefuehl that would be very interesting. In the US latest updates are integrating city and highway. the autobahn maybe a special use case, due to autobahn speeds.
