Italian here. Coffee in paper cups isn't just for tourists. Many years ago, when I was a child, every day people working in shops or offices would call the nearest coffee place to ask for their usual espresso. Then, within 5-10 minutes, one of the junior servers would put the regular espresso cups (not paper) onto a tray and bring it to the shop/office. Nowadays that service isn't widely available as it was back then, and the same office workers/shop assistants go to the coffee place and bring the paper cups to their working place. As for sitting down with one's cup of coffee, ask if there's only table service or if there are some tables at which you may sit for free. Where I live, more than one place has two different sets of tables: one is table service only, the other is entirely free, meaning that you can take your coffee cup with you and sit down without paying additional charges. It's true that cappuccino isn't considered an afternoon drink, but there are some Italian people who do order it (at coffee places) no matter how late it is. In Bologna there's just one public fountain in the tiny area in which tourists usually hang out, so do buy your bottled water if you aren't near it. There are or there used to be fountains in other areas of the city centre, but no tourists there. There is Uber in some Italian cities (you find a list on their website), but only Uber black, the luxury cars which come with a driver in suit and tie

Why go to Starbucks if traveling to Italy.
I try to avoid anything American while traveling, want to experience local food, lodging or whatever.
    Coke was the one exception.

@@AnnaGoldmanTravelwhere have you been in Sardinia? Every big town has city buses, each small town and village are connected to another or to the main town by blue buses (ARST) or by train. Probably you were inside a hotel village near Porto Cervo and it's going to be difficult to find buses in those fake villages.

Ciao Anna bella! 😉Let me clarify, also here again down your funny interesting video. I see that for "YTuber/influencers" its nice to exagerate or stereotype everything, okay!
But Cappuccino, or cocktail/aperitivo is not customary for Italians to drink with lunch or dinner such as pasta, pizza or meat/fish: as you rightly said: then, if in the afternoon you want a cappuccino, chocolate, tea and a dessert, a cake obviously everyone does it! That is: NO cappuccino with pasta, or Spritz with Fiorentina steak!
So, nowdays if tourists want to insist with this silly stuff, sure they can and will find many places ready to serve it: with lot of fun and laughing! 😂👍

@AnnaGoldmanTravel to be honest maybe they don’t like it but they do. To be precise most people get out of their home at 7 or even 6 because of the traffic and the distance. The center of a town is nor the town. Most of the bar outside the centre open at 6 am because they have their first clients getting their coffee before go to work.
