- We got to tour our dream house, the Newcomb-Stillwell Mansion in Quincy, IL. Would you live here? We enjoyed an afternoon tour and art lesson with our homeschool friends.

Hi guys! Oh wow. This mansion is huge!! Built in the 1800's, this house probably has a lot of history. I love that there are some original things still in the house. What?! The weather changed drastically for you guys!! We're in Michigan. I wish we had 70 in December.
Hey friends! This house is so cool and, yes, lots of history!! I knew you all were in the Mid-west, but I thought you were down closer. My mom grew up in Michigan, so we've been there a few times. Nice places to visit in the summer! I didn't stay 70, though, I wish! It was a record breaking heat. I'm counting down the days to spring!!

They did an amazing job of restoring the house! It was actually a college dorm and nunnery before it was restored for tours. The restoration pictures are incredible. So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for coming to our tour!

Hi friend!! We live here in Quincy and a lot of our channel are things to do here. It's an old rivertown with lots of history, we're just a few minutes from Hannibal, MO, so we do some of the Mark Twain things, too! Glad you are enjoying it!

Hey there!! Now this is cool as ever, love how old homes look. Never took a tour of one but have watched other YT videos, so fun to see the decor and the set up of old homes. Love how the structure of the home looks so strong! These days homes aren’t built with this type of strong foundation. The windows and lamps look so vintage! 😍

this is quite the mansion ^^ feel like there's so many stories left to be told about what this place was once like when the original owners lived in this place. every corner just makes you want to ask so many questions. feels like it's from a different time in history. enjoyed this tour ~

20000 sq feet! It was crazy! I have to say it doesn't feel quite as big when you are in it, though. It is strangely comfortable feeling. Good to see you all! Hope your holidays were awesome!

This must have been incredible in person. I saw the steps, did they happen to have an elevator? If so, the museum is going in my notes. It looks like I may go right through Quincy on a mission trip this summer. Interesting places to stop help break the trip up. The kids must have had a great time with the art lesson.
Hi Gayle! Yes! They have an elevator that goes all the way up to the third floor. They even let one of the little fellows in our group use it because the tall staircase scared him. Is this near Chicago at all? I haven't been to Illinois in over 20 years when my cousin got married. that is a huge icebox. big enough to store a body? lol. those cabinets really held up over time. Wow, those canvases are something. i can see why you like this room so much.
Hi Mimi! We are about 5 hours (with no traffic) from downtown Chicago. So, yes and no. I don't think they actually stored any bodies in there, but it was so huge! We have no idea why they needed it to be so big! They also had two more smaller ones in the house! The canvases are so amazing and I don't think anyone else in town has something like it. They are a sight to see. Hope you have a wonderful week! I loved your new book today, the illustrations were beautiful!
