So I grew up in Nauvoo. My father was the manager for the NRI in the 70's and 80's. I graduated from Nauvoo-Colusa High school. When I moved to Nauvoo, there were only 6 buildings restored, the visitor's center was just being built and the temple was nothing but a pile of rocks, here and there. I lived in the Sarah Granger Kimball home before it was restored. I was there the day they craned the Monuments to women statues into their places. Nauvoo is a sacred place and should be treated that way. I do not like the carnival feel that has been created there now. It is hard to feel the true spirit of the place with all the commotion going on.. It can be felt in the quiet moments of the night. You can feel the spirit of Nauvoo and the people who once lived there. Thank you for helping me remember some really good times from my life.
