    This dude seems like a genuinely decent human.. Incredible military career, and he's gone on to advocate for plant medicines to be used to treat veterans' TBI, PTSD, etc, instead of the usual nasty pharmaceutical cocktails. Another great episode.. Thanks yet again, guys.

    I'm glad he pointed out the dangers in David Goggins' message. His whole thing is "just push, push, push... and when your bones start fracturing and you're in agony, tape them up and keep going!"
    That works for the extraordinarily genetically gifted. For most of us, not knowing when to stop results in major injury, chronic pain and even disability.

    My biggest regret in life is not joining the Army at 18. I joined the Army reserves at 27 and did very well both physically maxing out my scores in basic and AIT and leading in my AIT time for 8 out of 12 weeks.
    I did as I was told and did it at a high level, the military got more out of me than I knew I even had. They helped me not only find my limits but push way past what I thought was the limits.
    When I was younger I would have gotten out of the place I live and really get to do great things, serve my country, meet people from all over the nation and see the world.

I truly wish that service was mandatory coming out of High School at some level. Taking host nation indigenous people and training them in surveillance and SIGINT related kit and sending them deep into the under worlds where they can illuminate the patterns of behavior and movement of the bad guys. 3 Combat HALO Jumps 😮!
    I wonder if he still has the first 2 flags, still?
    In my day their was a waiting list for HALO/HAHO and it started at Bragg and eneded in Yuma. Watched 2 SF guys get turned away seconds, literally, after Cadre shut the doors. It didn't matter to JFKSWC what MOS you had or what Unit. Now I understand it is a part of the pipeline and completely in Az.
    Another thing is/was LRSLQC Long Range Surveillance Leadership Qualification Course or some such shit (forgive my memory). With designator Q6. And my class 0*-9* started with 15 and we ran until it was 14 then they officially started the class. Which was maybe kinda like the 90s version of The Army's MACV RECONDO my uncle used to tell me about. So that was my mindset going through it, and we learned some similar things about Radios, maps, LandNav, GPS, Cameras, guns, and Aircraft.
    Sorry for the rant, great video, good man and Operator. Love the show 'gentlemen', good on you.

    How does RRC differ from JSOCS other tier 1 units like the ISA or Cags G squadron ?

    • @asce9182
      @asce9182 Год назад

      They're all very similar organizations with different influences that inspired their creation. There are certain capabilities that overlap. As well as differences, the ISA, for example, obviously has a heavy focus on SIGINT.

    • @joesgotya9930
      @joesgotya9930 Год назад +4

      ISA and RRC are conducting intelligence and reconnaissance operations for the entirety of JSOC.. Its a broader strategic level focus. CAGs G Squadron and DevGrus Black Squadron are more about supporting their own Units.. Like if CAG is planning a hostage rescue somewhere in the world, they might want to use their own in house reconnaissance squadron to prep the battle space because they understand better then anyone what kind of information they need to collect for the rescue element.
      ISA operative Erick Miyeres tells a story on the Team House podcast that provides a great example on what I’m talking about.. While Delta, SEALs, SAS and rangers were going after the AQ in Iraq and the conventional military was fighting other Sunni and Shia groups, Erick got tapped to find and a locate a bad actor with links to Iranian Quds Force. The individual had remarkable trade craft and state sponsored training that made him a ghost, and Erick was able locate him, bug his house and get out without the dude ever knowing he was there. It’s one of those rare accounts of espionage happening right in the middle of a war zone. Units like the ISA are going after wolves 🐺 dressed In sheep 🐑 clothing.
