I remember as a teen renting halo so many times in a row that the store actually eventually gave it to me. I rented the same copy for two weeks at a time for 8 months in a row. When my birthday rolled around the owner gave me the copy and it was the best thing ever.
On the topic of Gender swapping characters, I just think its lazy to change an existing characters gender. It pretty much shows that they can't come up with any new interesting female characters so they just change a male character to female and tack on his history and personality. There shouldn't be a female James Bond, but you can have a female character inspired by James Bond because writers, directors and actors find inspiration in other peoples work.
Mind blown by how much sense this makes. While I still wouldn't be offended by a female Bond, you're absolutely right: it'd be more creative and respectful to develop a new character with her own Bond-inspired story than to just swap actors and retcon. Thank you for the perspective.

Aside from my general dislike of gender swapping a source character for the sake of diversity, one problem I see with a "Female Bond" is how rooted seduction is in Bond's repertoire of espionage. While I think it would be baller for a film around a temptress spy, public image of a playboy is much more positive than of a woman who hops from man to man. It becomes a lose/lose scenario where if they avoid the topic of sex and seduction there will be complaints about not staying true to the character's roots, while if they do give her the playgirl persona, it's easy to say that the character is sexist and degrading to the capabilities of women. If they do decide to make a female Bond, I am interested to see how they tackle this. I would still prefer they introduce a new and different character in the universe than just change James Bond's gender.

as a kid a had a sony hand portable tv it was antenna based it took like 6 double a batteries and it was black and white but i could watch cartoon network at school on a portable tv. it was cool as heck then they shut off the transponders so now i get static
man i just went to the public library checked movies and music out and burned copies at home never knew about any of those other places until way later in life.
dlp werent heavy, maybe older projection tech. Dlp were full of air, and plastic with only the light engine at the bottom. My DLP were like 100lbs and less. My current LCD weight 220lbs but it's not a consumer model
