  • In this video, we review Shimoda's newest and best camera bag for landscape and travel photography, the Explore v2! The newest line of camera bags in the Shimoda family melds many features that we've come to love of the original Explore with a few new features for added functionality and comfortability. In particular, I review the E25, or the 25 liter option of the Explore v2, and discuss how much gear you can fit into the bag, as well as the differences between the 3 different shoulder strap options: the Technical Strap, Women's Simple Strap, and the Women's Technical Strap.
    The new Shimoda Explore v2 is extremely modular in both fit and function, making this the closest option on the market to a one-bag-fits-all for landscape and travel photographers. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for being one of the few reviews showing a DSLR in the Shimoda 25L with the small mirror less ICU.

    Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You are the first reviewer of the Explorer bag that actually put a full frame lens (the Sigma 150-600) in a core unit and showed it in a video. Shimoda apparently thinks everyone shoots with a Sony. I am getting the E35 because I have a D4 and a possibly gripped D850. I am getting the large DSLR core unit. Not sure if I should get the medium DSLR + small unit. Very hard to visualize. So far I think people agree that the Shimoda is a comfortable bag. Thanks for the review of the features.

      Absolutely! I think in your case, a large DSLR unit would be a great fit for the camera bodies that you have. I have a original Medium DSLR ICU and it's a little tight, and am unable to put my Sigma 150-600 on my camera body to store it. I have to store them separately.

    Thank you for your excellent review of Shimoda’s nice backpack! I ordered the Explore V2 30L size so that I can get the Large Mirrorless Core Unit for a Nikkor Z 180-600 lens, which is 12.5” long (with stored lens hood). Hopefully it will also permit other lenses like the Nikkor Z 14-30 f/4.

    Hi. BTW the outer zippered flap on the camera cube opening has an inner pocket where the flap on the camera cube can be inserted. This saves having to open the camera cube door as well as the outer flap pocket. In your vid yo seem to be opening both when accessing your camera.

    Nice review, but I would have liked a piece about value for money, looking at the cost compared to that of competitors.

    Curious yiur thoughts. Many reviews on older Shimoda cited how the back panel never touches the ground. It seems Shimoda moved the belt attachment to the back panel and now the belt lays on the ground?

    Great video! Very helpful. I’ve been looking at Shimoda x30 and F Stop Loka UL. I’ve been using a Mindshift Backlight 18L or 26L, I have a love/hate with them. I don’t like how heavy/thick the waist belt is. I have a Nikon Z6ii, 24-70 f4, 200-500, Sigma Sport 70-200 and plane on getting a 14-30 f4(to replace my 16-35 f4) and a prime. How do you like the PD Capture Clap?

    Do they make a 25 with black leather zipper pulls? The brown looks too USA.

    Great review! Just ordered one a couple of days ago. I’m wondering if you can squeeze in the medium mirrorless cube in there.

    • @HollyWalterPhotography
      @HollyWalterPhotography  2 года назад +2

      I just learned this week that you can! It’s a tight fit, but you can squeeze one in. It’s not designed as such, so just keep that in mind.

      Check out the Shimoda RUclips channel. The bag's designer has made numerous videos on the bag, what it carries ( he has Fuji gear) and airline size compatibility.
