    To @enigmasunshine4554, I am so sorry I accidentally deleted your question on the bag as I was trying to edit my comment. I was sent this bag by Shimoda to test and do a review for them. I own four of their bags and was a tester for the female shoulder straps they have. I recently purchased the Explore V2 35L as an upgrade for my wildlife photography and I love it! Shimoda knows that I always give an honest review....I don't sugar coat anything! LOL Hope that helps. It also states in the video in the beginning about this as well.

    Nice run down of the bag. I have it (my third Shimoda bag) and love it. Can fit GFX 100s 3 lenses XT4 with two lenses Mavic 2 pro and paraphernalia filters batteries and other items. I am a small guy and not young. Bag helps me carry my gear with no issues. BTW learned a couple of tricks from you. Thanks you

    • @icogicog8287

      @@antonroux6737 yes. The 35L. I have rigid cases for the Mavic and the controller that helps me put them safely in the top and front compartment

    • @antonroux6737
      @antonroux6737 2 года назад

      @@icogicog8287 cool thanks for letting me know. Did you try to see if the GFX would fit inside the mirrorless core units of the 25/30L or is the 35L the only option that safely works for the camera?

    • @icogicog8287
      @icogicog8287 2 года назад +1

      @@antonroux6737 the kit i have is
      Shimoda Explore V2 35 Starter Kit (w/ Large DSLR Core Unit). The 100s fits in there on its side. That allows for a more rational use of the space. I suspect ( but don’t know for a fact) that in would only fit bottom down which would use more real estate. That would than not give you the space for all I carry. For instance the 45-100 fits nicely front element down using a lot less space. The only lens I put lengthwise is the 100-200. Everything else can be place front element down with the cameras on their side giving a better use of the pack/core unit foot print

    • @antonroux6737
      @antonroux6737 2 года назад

      @@icogicog8287 thanks again. I was wondering whether it would actually fit in that less "rational" bottom down position or not, but I do agree with your decision on space efficiency. I was thinking about whether I could get the 25L and later the 35L and use them for different purposes

You just convinced me to go with the Shimoda :) I live in a city so I think the Explore will be better for daily use. Nice review! Can I ask what the folded length of your tripod is? It seems to fit in your 30 liter well. I'm looking at the 40 liter but carry a Leofoto that's 23.5" closed. I'd go with a 30 liter if my tripod and the large core unit would fit in it, though. Thanks

    HI Tammy. Thanks for the great review! I plan to purchase an Explore in the near future and i'm hoping you can give me some guidance regarding core units since this will ultimately determine whether I need the 30L or 35L bag. I am using a Nikon DSLR (D850) with mostly F2.8 lenses so my gear is bulky and heavy. I also sometimes carry a second crop body and filters. I understand that the 30l bag will only work with a mirrorless core unit. In your opinion, is the mirrorless core unit adequate for a DSLR kit or am I better off sizing up to the 35L bag with a DSLR core? Thanks in advance!

    • @tammymellertphoto
      @tammymellertphoto  2 года назад +1

      Hello there!! With your system and the DSLR, I would go with the Explore V2 35L and either the medium DSLR core unit or the large DSLR core unit. The medium mirrorless core units are too small for a DSLR . I have the large DSLR core unit and my Nikon D500, Sigma 150-600mm lens and other lenses/accessories fit perfectly. I have also used my Olympus OMD EM1-X and the 300mm F4 lens in the 35L bag with the large DSLR core unit since its the largest lens I own right now. I hope that helps you. Take care!!

    Can you take that pouch out to make the top compartment bigger, say for a big coat?

    • @tammymellertphoto
      @tammymellertphoto  2 года назад

      The compartment with the zippered sides does come out. Its just zippered in there. Depending on your core unit size it may make it a little larger on the explore v2 30L. I have the medium mirrorless core unit in this one.

    • @johnnykempo
