Thank you, Mark for this terrific review. I have been looking at camera backpacks, my first since I have been using a shoulder bag but my shoulders and back have begun to tell me to get a backpack! Your video helped me decide to get this bag. And thank you for your terrific YTVideos... Cheers!
Not sure if you planned it, but it was good you had the jacket inside the top pocket. It certainly helped provide a perspective of how much room is in there. Thank you.
New subscriber from Ontario, Canada! have been following you for a week now because of excellent content. This bag is expensive and non-returnable in Canada. But I am heavily anchored on 30L version of it. I am watching as many videos on it to know this bag before committing to it. Thanks for a very nice presentation.
I’ve tried quite a few camera backpacks and it’s always the same issue. The bags can be big enough to carry a lot of gear but not in a way that makes the weight bearable. Looks like Shimoda has solved that issue the best of any manufacturer. The biggest pain isn’t the capacity but the lack of adequate weight distribution to the hips.
yeah - there's no way to carry a lot of (heavy) gear in a bag that can protect it, without it being heavy. A bit like the tripod thing - if you want stability then it has to be big and heavy. Shimoda, at least, make it more comfortable to carry the weight
I backed this project and ordered the 35L. I came here to convince myself I did the right choice and I’m sure I’ll have a good time watching this video 😎
Thanks Mark! been wanting to pick up a Shimoda bag for some time but the designs and sizes never fully convinced me to pull the trigger. I think the Explorer v2 35L Black fits the bill. I just ordered one on Kickstarter without your affiliate link. Great review and showcase of the bag. Looking forward to taking it for a spin somewhere.
I got my bag via Kickstarter a week or so ago! So great because I was not sure I would get it in time for my UK trip coming up next week. I was initially disappointed by the weight of the bag as it feels heavier than my new Atlas bag. That said, I switched out the Shimoda male harness to the female version for a great fit, and have enjoyed watching your video again as I loaded the efficient Explore V2 with my essential gear for the Scottish Highlands and Islands and the English Countryside. Everything I need, including two lenses, fits comfortably in the bag and because I can put my laptop and some reading material in the other generous spaces, I believe I am good to go with this one carry-on. The Shimoda bag is "beautifully engineered" per friends! Big Thanks as always, Mark. Pam Blair
I will now have yet another backpack to add to my collection. Ordered the green since all my other backpacks are black. Mark, thank you for talking me into buying a Shimoda.
Thanks for the review of the updated Explore V2 series. I use the Explore 40 and Action X50 and have encountered a problem with the clasps on both. One half of a clasp has two outside open ended prongs you have to squeeze to open the clasp. On both bags prongs have snapped off when they have caught on small branches or twigs. Replacement clasps are easily obtained from a low cost Booster Strap Set, BUT some of the halves of the broken clasps are on strap loops that are sewn into the sides of the bags and cannot be replaced? If the pronged sections were on the open ended half of the straps they could be easily replaced without any sewing. The broken clasps are still useable but not with gloves on. Otherwise I'm very pleased with both backpacks.
I recently purchased the action x 50 and wow I am so in love with this bag! And this bag looks great too! I love your videos and your content! Greetings from Germany :)
Thanks Mark, another great review. Appreciate it!. As I mentioned in another comment, this color really suits you, I don't know why but I just see you wandering National Parks and taking photos with it on your back :) Good vibes. - Ian
Thanks Mark. Love your videos. Thanks for another great bag Ian! Too many to choose from now. Been debating between x and e.... tough call but i did it! Just used your link, Mark and ordered the 35 in black. I love landscape, hiking, traveling but i also do weddings, real estate, portraits... and use my camera bag for EVERYDAY carry to/from work. I literally have my camera with me all the time, and figured the black is a little more "classic" where the green is awesome for outdoors, but want something less adventure at a wedding, if that makes sense. Really excited to get it. Ian, any thoughts on delivery dates yet? Good luck on the campaign and fulfilling all the orders i know you are going to get. Crushed it day 1 on the campaign. 200% fulfilled. Congrats!
@@dinoj001 Hi Jason, thank you for the comments and backing. With regard to color, 100% on point I think. A few fellas that hav a sample have used it at weddings already. IMO it will blend right in. As for delivery dates, we are looking at September. Not sure if you saw/read but we pre-manufactured everything with the goal that we can control or reduce the risk of unforeseen drama with manufacturing and recent shipping post covid shipping issues. So that means we did not launch the campaign until we actually manufactured and shipped to the different distribution hubs. That happened mid-late June so based on current shipping times gear should arrive mid August -process and be back out the door for September - fingers crossed it's earlier. Thanks again. Ian
@@ShimodaDesigns Wow Ian, that is really exciting. That’s exceptional fore thought and a lot of people will be happy to not have to wait months for a Kickstarter item. I ordered a flashlight once and had to wait six months. Really looking forward to the new bag
Hi Ian Mark's video was excellent...but it increased my annoyance and I take this opportunity to share it with you too, hoping to find the right decision. I bought an Action X50 a few days ago, I haven't debuted it yet. I chose the X50 because the X30 doesn't support the large core unit V2. I am an amateur landscap and nature photographer. my photography equipment is all stowed in the core unit. At the top of the bag I'll be able to keep a raincoat, a kispo, some food and little else. I think I think there's going to be a lot of pain left over. Now this version of Explorer appears and it seems to me to be very suitable because it already accepts the large core unit. On the other hand, I've been comparing the measurements and the differences between the E35 and the X50 are minimal! Buying online is difficult because you don't have the exact perspective of sizes. What is your opinion on this question of mine? If you put the large core, will there still be room for other things, like clothes, sandwiches, etc? Thanks.
Looks like a good backpack, I need to get something like that for longer hikes as my current backpack is designed to hold a lot of camera gear, but little else.
They really are great bags, I own the original 40L. I really do wish however Shimoda would make a bag with all camera storage like the mindshift. During the summer when I'm not hiking but just doing events I have no use for that top storage and it just makes the bag larger, having that extra space to fit camera gear but allow the bag to be smaller would I'd buy tomorrow. As for your question I own way more than 3 camera bags, lol! I think I have about 20 in all but they span over 35 years of purchases.
Which size would you recommend for a mirrorless body with L-bracket, a small 16-35, a 24-70 2.8, a 100-400 lens as well as some filters? Can't decide between the E25 and E30 - maybe you can help me out.
I have multiple bags and they add to making photography enjoyable plus adds to function based on what you are photographing. Backpacks for hauling gear for wild life and landscape Fstop Anja 40, Mindshift 26L. Portraits Brenthaven pro shooter, fstop messenger bag. Quick or light carry F stop Navin. Nice to have options. Love Shimota’s new bag too and like the pockets on the shoulder straps.
Good timing of your video, for me at least! I'm looking for a good and comfortable photo backpack with good quick access. Do you have any experience with the MindShift Rotation series?
Just pledged towards the green E30 and plan to have my original small core unit kept inside 90% of the time to use as my EDC bag. I've already got the x50 so it'll be nice to switch over the medium mirrorless v2 into the E30 when I need more gear for the day.
I have been very happy with my Action X30 bag, which at the time had more features than the original Explore bag. The new design and features of the Explore are appealing, but I think I would miss the roll-top expansion I have now. Bag performed perfectly in Iceland last week.
Thanks for the video Mark! You just convinced me to buy the E35 backpack when you said you haven't had trouble putting this under your seat on airplanes. That was my biggest worry with going for this for all my US travels, as I try to not check bags as much as I can.
Good review Mark! It's a nice a bag but it would be nice if they added all those new features on the old X Series roll top. Still very pricey but better then the Mckinnon bag
Ooh! Do you mind saying why you don’t like the McKinnon bag? I’m looking at several different ones, but I can’t decide. So I’m super interested in your opinion. On some reviews are super bias, so they’re hard to trust. Thank you!
@@metchac I regret buying the nomadic Peter McKinnon bag. It truly uncomfortable for hiking. The strap of the bag is digging in my trap/shoulder and the hip belt is useless to shift the weight from the shoulder. I would go for a Shimoda action x or this one.
Mark, great video, as always. I have an X 50 and an X30. I find I use the x30 more but it is tight. I’m still using the 5D and canon L lenses. The new E35L looks like it might fill the gap between the x30 and x50. Unlike Ian, I am not mountain biking, snow boarding or ice climbing. Shooting mostly Landscapes and travel, w lots of time in planes. Since you have the x30 and the new E35 your thoughts, are the differences worth spending the money?
Awesome backpack. I've had the Action X50 for a while for hiking and landscape. Will probably buy this for occasions where I don't need as big of a bag. Didn't know this existed and was looking towards the Action X30.
Great overview, i bought the 35l Explore, been after a bigger backpack since i bought a7 and 200-600, the flipside sport 20l aw was great but needed a bit more room, im not convinced its another 15litres of capacity? Seems well constructed with great fabrics, fully loaded seems comfortable at 10kg (a7 200-600 bat grip, 2 spare bats, jacket, trousers, mono, macro lens, sit mat, poncho), time will tell as i do allot of long walks and it usually rains at some point. Packing it out for a full days wildlife shot my initial thoughts were the side pockets need to expand more but lets face it i wouldn't have five packs if they were prefect. I do feel that the rain cover needs taped seams which will keep all the main body zips waterproof (the top main three zips are waterproof not the lower and side ones) but the chest harness phone pocket needs the same zips. i initially got the large mirrorless core unit which proved to be to small for the 200-600 with a grip so i swapped it for the large dslr for the extra height. Bought mine from the UK website, from a UK address , returns go to the Netherlands.
I bought the Action X30 last year for trips this year that have been postponed to next year. I like the bag that I bought, but based on what I see in your review I probably would have chosen the new Explore v2 had it been available. It has all the features of the Action X and has a cleaner look without the roll top.
I'm in the same situation, but in my case I bought the Action X30 just a few months ago! Indeed, it looks like the new model has one MAJOR design improvement over the Action X -- easier to open the camera storage section without needing to wrestle with the shoulder straps...
Hey Mark, thank you for the review. Really struggling on deciding which to get: the E30 V2 or the X30. Which one do you find more useful for long trips? For me, space for gear and other stuff is more important. So I was leaning toward to the roll top of the X30 as I have a PRVKE 31L too. But when it's fully loaded I don't find it comfortable for not being that "ergonomic". The Shimoda models look much better thought of weight distribution and comfort. So, not sure if the X30 will be overkill since I don't do anything extreme as skiing or anything radical (there's not even snow in Barcelona :). I will use the new bag to travel around Southeast Asia soon (quite strict carry-on rules), so the mesh material breathability and x30 size look to fit better this purpose. However, I will be hiking a lot too (again, nothing radical). But, the roll top of the x30 doesn't leave my mind. Argh, it hasn't been so tough to pick a bag, both look very great, even though the v2 has a better looking to my eyes. Tks!
Hi Mark, Do you have a Shimoda large mirrorless or DSLR core unit? When I tried using the large mirrorless core on the E30, the top compartment barely has room to fit a lens hood (specifically the Sony 16-35mm lens hood). Wondering if the tolerances are also tight on the E35. I found the Action X50 has plenty of room on top when slotting in a large DSLR core unit. Thanks
This bag is really tempting me, I have a lowepro bp450 at the moment and it's like lugging a child around on my bag and he's making sure to hit all the gear he can off me when walking. Wondering what size I would go for? I have a nikon d7500, d3300 as a backup if I am doing a timelapse on thr main body, an 11-20, 18-105, 100-400, and the mavic air 2 fly more kit. Amy advice?
You had me debating between this and the Mindshift Backlight 26L. The bag is listed at $215, but shipping is $175 and I just cant justify that unfortunately. This bag looks awesome though.
I went back and looked at these bags and for some reason, the shipping is cheaper on the more expensive versions. No clue why, but I ordered one. I have been looked at so many bags and this legit checked every box. I hope I like it. I thank you Mark, but my wallet does not 😂
@@christophercorr2329 @GavinHuen Where are you shipping too? Some places are a bit extreme - but that is what the courier is charging for direct shipping to those countries. For more common location EU, UK and US prices are much lower.
I bought a 17" laptop to have the extra size for editing. But, I forgot about carrying it in a camera backpack. Would it fit in this backpack? Well, you answered that question.
Looks a great bag Mark but also looks quite heavy, I have just been told its 3.6kg - I suppose the quality of the bag & durability is going to make it heavier. When camera gear is added I would think that would be some weight to take hiking in the hills all day.?
Hi Alan, weight is less relevant when you have a good harness. If you consider you are actually carrying your body weight and the your gear... actual backpack weight becomes less significant. Generally if you have a loaded Shimoda bag, it feels heavy when you lift it. But once it's on your back, that feeling is gone. With our weight distribution, it becomes part of your bodyweight. - Ian
@@ShimodaDesigns Thanks Ian, I have been looking at reviews etc and just wanted to check the weight - I had actually messaged Shimoda on FB and had the reply 3.6ks but on further investigation on the website the bag I enquired about (the 30L explore V2) is actually 3.6lbs and not kilos! With the onset of age and creaking limbs I am always looking for ways to lighten the load. :)
How much smaller would you say is the 35L is compared to the v1 explorer 40L? I currently use the 40L but love these new features but don't want to lose main compartment space
Hi Mark, I have just boght a 25L Shimoda Adventure, will get it in my hotel in Hawaii on Thursday! Now, I have a Gitzo GT2545 tripod, with a series 2 head, the whole thing has 67cm high. Not sure if it fits on this bag? What tripod are you using with it?
Hi Mark, I need to buy a bag that accommodates Sigma 150-600 + a couple of medium telephoto lenses and my R6. I also need to use it as cabin luggage in Europe. Which bag(s) do you suggest?
Cannot decide between this new bag and action X series as action x series get the expandable roll top. But this one seem more comfortable and much more suitable for travel.
@@MarkDenneyPhoto thanks. hope you can answer 1 more question. Do you think explorer v1 and v2 have the same dimension? For me explorer v1 is quite bulky, at least look bulky than action x30. If the V2 is the same, then i may pack action x. Thanks.
Hi mark. Nice video, which added to my annoyance. I bought an Action X50 a few days ago, I haven't debuted it yet. I chose the X50 because the X30 doesn't support the large core unit V2. Hi Mark, I would like to purchase the Shimoda v2 Backpack; As you took the time and effort to review it, I would like to purchase it through you; Do you have a code for discount on B&H?
So excited to get this bag! Was about to get the actionX after watching all your vids but glad I waited a bit for this to come out! Question: noticed the Kickstarter doesn’t have option for mirrorless medium core unit in 35L pack but rather with medium dslr core unit. Debating on getting the bag by itself and order the core unit separately or get the kit that includes the dslr medium core unit. Will the medium mirrorless core unit you use hold a Sony a7iii with L bracket attached? I’m not sure what direction to go! Thanks for your advice and love all your content!!
Going to grab a green Exp2 at some point for my nature and wildlife hikes. I don't see the competitors having any advantages over this bag other than perhaps price, but I prefer to buy once and get something great rather than keep buying ok's.
Great review! Thanks :) Quick question - is the bag comfortable without the sternum strap? The torso pads looks quite bulky and I'm a thin guy and want to use the side access so prefer not to use it
Can you let the bag hand from your waist while accessing your gear from the back as the camera in hanging? Basically, can you use it like an F-Stop bag? or a LowePro Flipside bag? Thank you.
Hey Mark, I originally backed this project but forgot to click your link. I cancelled the pledge and re-pledged via the link in the video description. Hope it helps, even a little. Have a great week.
Iʻm trying to decide between the Shimoda Explore 30 V2 backpack and the PGYTech Onemo 30L backpack. What are your thoughts? I need a bag to carry my Canon R6, 24-70 and 70-200mm lenses and assorted accessories while traveling (city walks in Europe) and especially meet the airlines requirements for carry on. Your comments would be really appreciated.
I'm deciding between the Mindshift 18L or this bag. It doesn't look like the camera storage area will fit all of my equipment because of the top pouch. Can that area also be used to store camera equipment? Great review.
I ordered the bag prior to this review, it's really solid and good bag, very comfortable but I'm annoyed by the camera access, with the lower strap it's a hassle to get to, the other thing is too many straps that floating all the way, it shall be inserted into holes or something, otherwise it's a solid bag but very expensive one
Does the new v2 have a large ‘full height of the bag’ front pocket still like in the v1? Can’t see if there is one behind the new 2 small front zipped pockets or not.
Thank you for your extended review. I am in search for a new bag and was targeting already some time for the Action X30. But it isn't available yet in the Netherlands. I just heared yesterday from the distributor that it will be available in about 3 weeks. Now I am doubting between this new bag and the Action X. If I hear you talking I think you prefer the new bag, don't you? But I see it is quite some time before it is available... What should you do? I really like to have a lighter bag. I am having a Lowe Pro which weights about 3.5 KG, when switching to a Shimoda it will save me about 1 KG which should be very appreciable on longer hikes.
I road bike and when I have used it, I have not seen much suffering than the obvious slower uphill. On flats, once it's on for a minute, I don't notice it. I have big climb planned with it, just waiting for the weather window (was meant to be today)... will make a video on that. In general I usually put in at least 1 - 50km (hilly) ride with our pack during the test phase. Good way to discover chaffing locations, same with running.
Hey, just an update, I did do a good ride with it the other day and there are some road bike set up tips in the video: ruclips.net/video/D1Dm3ZqVOnY/видео.html
It seems impossible to order the Explore2. There’s a limited info pre-order page that it says “will disappear on September 10th”! Why is the merchandising around the bag so weird? Am I missing some easier way to simply purchase the exact bag you have shown?
I have a shimoda x50 with the largest cube they offer. Now with this, and the largest cube used is 14.6" internal dimensions. A sony mirrorless attached to their 200-600mm is 15". So close, yet so far.
I have a similar problem once you add an L bracket and want to store the camera long side vertical. Bag manufacturers don't seem to consider that many landscape/trekking photographers use brackets.
Hey Mark, I was curious. I just watched your video on the Atlas Adventure camera bag, from 2 yrs ago. How would you compare it to the Shimoda Explore V2? I carry a full size DSLR (Nikon D4s, not a small camera), with multiple lenses. I currently have an F-stop Tilopa that I have been carrying for many years. I love the bag for its ability to hold all that I carry, but find that it is not very comfortable for long walks/hikes. I was looking at the new 2021 Atlas bag but am also interested in the Explore V2 (especially the straps for women). What is your opinion on both bags, since you have used both bags? Thanks in advance for your time!
Does F-stop ICU ( Large Pro or Shallow Medium) will fit inside this Pack ? They are 29.2 cm/11.5 in wide >>> Shimoda ICU is 29cm/11.4 in wide >>> This Pack shows Internal Width 28.5 cm/11.2 in. Do you have this extra space to fit very slightly wider ICU ?
Can anyone answer this question? The f-stop icu has connectors for a strap. I like the idea of taking the icu out and switching the camera strap to the icu for carry on.
@@richardb7712 Do You mean F-Stop ICU ? I did buy Shimoda Explore 30l V2 and I am using with my F-Stop Shallow Medium ICU. Large ICU won't fit, but Medium works perfectly fine

Hi Mark. I loved the review of the bag. I was thinking about the ActionX 30 until I saw the Explorer V2. I hike locally and nothing extreme, which bag would you recommend? Thank you
So, after seeing your video 4 times, I ordered the 35L Medium. I'm very excited about it. My current Lowepro Flipside Trek is actually "almost" sufficient. The problem is that all of my NiSi filters take up so much space. And then also film and sound equipment. Well, you know that for sure 😃
Hi Mark, Thanks for this review about the Shimoda backpack, I'm really impressive about it. I have a Thule Aspect TAC-106 backpack actually but I'm looking more space and comfortable so, I'd like to know how many liters is this specific backpack that you have? Thanks for your videos and tutorials. Dino
@@MarkDenneyPhoto very good 👍🏼 this link that you include on the description is secure? I’d like to buy it but they said the the delivery will be around September 😱
I was about to order X50...but then saw this. Being able to store bag under US airline seat is critical. The dimensions of X50 vs Explore 35 are nearly the same on Shimoda website. Is the X50 really that much of a bigger bag? Can X50 fit under US airline seats? I have a similarly sized bag to these and it fits under seat generally.
For my 2-series tripod, I strap it to the side of my camera backpack. If I bring my 4-series on a flight, which I infrequently do, it goes in my large suitcase that I check and the bullhead goes in my camera backpack which I carry-on. Since the 4-series takes up so much room, I don't do this very often.
Thanks Rebecca! I always keep the tripod strapped to the side of the bag and I remove the ball head and place it inside just to reduce the overall length of the tripod.

So that means we did not launch the campaign until we actually manufactured and shipped to the different distribution hubs. That happened mid-late June so based on current shipping times gear should arrive mid August -process and be back out the door for September - fingers crossed it's earlier. Thanks again. Ian
Much appreciated Ian - thank you! I’ve enjoyed the color as well, I’ve been told that it really brings out the color in my eyes😆
@@ShimodaDesigns Wow Ian, that is really exciting. That’s exceptional fore thought and a lot of people will be happy to not have to wait months for a Kickstarter item. I ordered a flashlight once and had to wait six months. Really looking forward to the new bag
Hi Ian
Mark's video was excellent...but it increased my annoyance and I take this opportunity to share it with you too, hoping to find the right decision.
Brilliant Camera Bag Review, thanks for sharing, Have a great weekend
Thanks Tony - you as well!
Nice bag, thx Mark for the presentation !!
Happy to do it Alain!
I just bought a 35 V2 with the large module. Sorry I didn't know about your video first
Good timing of your video, for me at least!
Yeah it's tough to go wrong with either of those packs.
Thanks for the video Mark! You just convinced me to buy the E35 backpack when you said you haven't had trouble putting this under your seat on airplanes. That was my biggest worry with going for this for all my US travels, as I try to not check bags as much as I can.
Can you please do a follow up comparing this too the Mindshift backlight? There are no videos on RUclips that directly compare them!
Nice bag, just a pity you have to buy the core units separately. Should be included at the price Shimoda are charging
It does if you back it on Kickstarter through July....
Planning a trip to the Southwest U.S. this summer, and the Explore 2 looks perfect. A shame it isn't shipping til September.
Thank you!
Thanks Pablo!
@@metchac I regret buying the nomadic Peter McKinnon bag. It truly uncomfortable for hiking. The strap of the bag is digging in my trap/shoulder and the hip belt is useless to shift the weight from the shoulder. I would go for a Shimoda action x or this one.
@@nicolaslavergne7757 thank you so much! 🙏🏻 I’m liking the Shimoda. Thanks again!
Thanks Michael! In my opinion it's worth it. I'm like you - I don't do much in the way of extreme action so the Explore v2 is perfect for me.
Thx
Awesome backpack. I've had the Action X50 for a while for hiking and landscape. Will probably buy this for occasions where I don't need as big of a bag. Didn't know this existed and was looking towards the Action X30.
It's a great solution!
That secret compartment on the side flap is for putting the core unit’s flap inside! But come to think of it.. you can hide money in there lol..
Nice video Mark. Can it fit a Peak Design capture clip on the strap? That's pretty much essential for any bag that I would consider looking at
Thank ya and yep it sure can.
Thanks for sharing... great package for traveling with all the gear you use... not sure if I can buy in Australia so will investigate... cheers 😀
Tks!
Hi Mark,
Do you have a Shimoda large mirrorless or DSLR core unit?
Amy advice?
Sounds like an E35 with Large DSLR.
You had me debating between this and the Mindshift Backlight 26L. The bag is listed at $215, but shipping is $175 and I just cant justify that unfortunately. This bag looks awesome though.
I also held off as the shipping was too expensive
Which would you pick: Shimoda Action X V2 or Atlas Athlete?
@@thevalleywalker whoops, that would have been me. :) sorry for the confusion. I default to Kg... CBD oil will help those creaky limbs.

How much smaller would you say is the 35L is compared to the v1 explorer 40L? I currently use the 40L but love these new features but don't want to lose main compartment space
I accidently presssed the button on a couple of other bags but only completed the order on a explorer 30 L V2 with a large core in green.
I know it's tough to decide on - both are fantastic, but I prefer the new Explore v2 if that helps.
@@MarkDenneyPhoto thanks. hope you can answer 1 more question.
Do you think explorer v1 and v2 have the same dimension?
For me explorer v1 is quite bulky, at least look bulky than action x30.
If the V2 is the same, then i may pack action x.
Thanks.

Hi Mark, I would like to purchase the Shimoda v2 Backpack; As you took the time and effort to review it, I would like to purchase it through you; Do you have a code for discount on B&H?
Really cool tutorial Mark 👍
Thanks May!
Thanks :)
Quick question - is the bag comfortable without the sternum strap? The torso pads looks quite bulky and I'm a thin guy and want to use the side access so prefer not to use it
Can you let the bag hand from your waist while accessing your gear from the back as the camera in hanging?
Basically, can you use it like an F-Stop bag? or a LowePro Flipside bag?
Thank you.
Mark, if it hasn't been already asked, how much weight can you carry comfortably in this bag? At what point would it be too heavy?
I have a bigger bag do they make a smaller version
Hey Mark, I originally backed this project but forgot to click your link. I cancelled the pledge and re-pledged via the link in the video description. Hope it helps, even a little. Have a great week.
Thanks so much friend!! Means a lot!
Your comments would be really appreciated.
i'm waiting for the moment when you will make your own bag as PM did =)
Hahha! Maybe one day
That’s a good looking bag
It’s a beaut!!
Looks like a great bag! Too bad I already pulled the trigger and bought a new bag a couple of weeks ago.
What did ya get?
Is it possible to attach this new and improved Shoulder Straps to the Action X Bag ?
Yes, all straps are compatible with all bags.
I'm deciding between the Mindshift 18L or this bag. It doesn't look like the camera storage area will fit all of my equipment because of the top pouch. Can that area also be used to store camera equipment? Great review.
It sure can - you get a larger camera core than I have that'll provide the additional storage space you need.
I've got two Shimoda bags - so why not three? :)
Hahha! Exactly!
A great bag!
If you ever give one of those away I would like to have one ;-)
I own just one bag right now
Thanks Mark. Good stuff!
Glad to do it Jerry!
Does the new v2 have a large ‘full height of the bag’ front pocket still like in the v1? Can’t see if there is one behind the new 2 small front zipped pockets or not.
@Mark Denney Which one you prefer this one or Nomatic everyday backpack?
I prefer this one👍
4 for me if your count the Explore V2 I backed on Kickstarter
Did you try jogging/running on short distances with it? If so how comfy was it?
You can’t go wrong with either, it personally I prefer the new Explore v2

Hi!
One question, can you tied a sleeping bag or something similar using straps on the bottom of the bag ?

Anyone have you tried this with cycling? How comfortable is it for carrying cameras while you cycle?
Especially using a Road Bike? Any experiences

Thanks in advance for your time!
great video! Mark, I just own one bag only.

FSstop icu is much better in my opinion
Can anyone answer this question? The f-stop icu has connectors for a strap. I like the idea of taking the icu out and switching the camera strap to the icu for carry on.

Hi! which size is the one of your review? thanks!
I have the 35L
Great video! Do you keep your tripod attached to the side when airplane traveling? If not, how do you store your tripod? Thanks!
During the important times (in front of gate agents or check in), I usually hand carry. It keeps it out of sight and as hand carry item.
I always put my tripod in my checked bag when flying. Is that something I shouldn't be doing? I haven't had a problem with any damage yet.
@@pattons3rd I don't see any issues. I think I've only done it when my check-in bag are overweight or I am out of room inside them.
