Today I did a 25 mile ride in snow mix w pretty dry bike paths here in Utah. After a several week hiatus due to holidays and crap weather, it felt so good. Gotta make the best of whatever Mother Nature gives us and not riding my EUC isn’t an option. I like these videos so keep ‘em coming.
Very nice as always! Just moved in to a snow state from a desert state. Grew up in a snow state but didn’t even ride my bike in winter. 59 years and considering maybe riding in the snow for 100 yards or so just so I can say I did it. But…that’s what I said to myself when I tried astroturf and slid left and right for 20 yards and wiped out. Nice friction burns as astroturf does have lots of gravel between the blades.
I was the same way Adam. I would ride under any circumstances. I still want to, but I'm pretty close to a train station. Why risk potentially slipping in adverse conditions, and messing up my wheel,.when I can just wait it out and eventually ride in better weather. I want to ride for many years to come, so I'm willing to sacrifice some ride time now if it means being able to ride for many years to come
yeah that's kind of what I was wondering: that looks like about the limit of snow depth that it can handle. you've got a little room below the pedals still when the suspension bottoms out, I think it would be game over if it were deep enough the pedals were dragging, but even if that weren't the case it looks like you're struggling a little bit, so it wouldn't take too much more snow to become impossible to push through.
Regular snow riding gets your legs/skills so much better you'll fly like a pro in summer if you were not before. If you seek a tire specifically for snow but do not want to mess with the spikes then IRC SN26 is probably the best one.

Ice spots are the worst! Next to drivers gaining confidence while the sidewalks/bike lanes are still snowed over. It feels great vibing on the way home in their tire tracks they created though.
I have a KS16X with a really bald tire so I poked some 1mm stainless wire through the side treads just at the edge of the bald center. Did that about 80 times and 2 hours of work and I’m happy with my DIY studs. A little vibration (foot massage) and no slippy on ice.
I slipped on ice while on a v11 last year, since then i've been skeptical riding euc in Canadian winters. But i might give it a try again on my sherman s.
Beautifull, I absolutely love winter riding. Having studs+spikes in tire makes the worst ice feel like gravel. Got motocross studs + spikes in mine, after them you can slide the EUC with control.. most of the times :) The least riding in POW comes pretty doable, spikes save the slides.
On my 4th winter with EUCs and i ride year round as its my main commuter. Id prefect to bust my ass on ice then deal with my car. I love riding on snow and ice.
Im using tray for pots to put euc in. its about 400*600. This winter in Vilnius not rode euc about 3 times, 3 working days, and because that bike paths was not cleaned. And be ready to change bearings for such riding, lol
For the Winter I tend to Spray some WD-40 Lithium White for the Axel to protect it from Rust … once in a while, only thing is it may sometimes leave an Ugly White stain on the Tire 😅 but better that than Rust I always say 😆
Be CAREFUL! I unexpectedly hit some ice last week on my way back to my car, slipped once on my Patton and again trying to walk over to get it. Broke my tailbone and fractured both my elbows....luckily I had my helmet on, my head hit the pavement so hard my lens popped out of my goggles...it was raining and shouldn't have been frozen, sure wasn't when I left 3-4 hours earlier lol
@@mr_wrongway Thank you. ya I've done snow several times but ice is no joke... No my ass is scared and doesn't want to go back out until its been above 40F for like a week lol
I do. Like 27 to 30psi where I normally run 35, but I check it before every ride because it runs down quicker in the cold. Flat profile tires are really nice too, as well as slowing rebound if you're running a suspension wheel.
A lot of snow in estonia, my master (ver2 i belive) has light flicker at -20C when doing longer trips :D What tire do u recommend on winter, i tried heidenau m+s, but was way worse than original cst, changed back...Winter riding is fun, but only without timeschedule and it's "offroad" even on the roads. Listen carefully mr wrongways riding tips, most important of them is letting the wheel doing its thing and try not to lean the wheel in corners, for me the hardest thing is u turns on snow, especially, when it's ice under snow. This tipe videos, where i see, im not only fool with euc at below freesing, makes me feel almost normal :D
Dzieki Tobie kupiłem dobrą hulajnoge i jeździłem około trzech lat. Teraz chciałbym przesiąść się na elektryczne mono ale zmieniłeś na angielski i nie rozumiem wszystkiego
Oh I’d love to but it’s a lot of effort to put them on. If winter and ice comes back (because this week it will melt away) then I might give it a shot :)
@@mr_wrongway I've never seen someone try doing actual dirt bike studs on their EUC tire. But I tried a dirt bike on the lake and it's easy to ride wheelies. Perhaps it is dangerous as the tire can cut your leg or drag your nuts into the tire well. It sounds scary lol. I suppose it could happen with an off-road tire too. 😆 I think that's a good EUC safety tip. Keep your junk away from the tire.
@@mr_wrongway 100% agree. My personal favorite wheel that has everything 90% of the community needs is the Kingsong S19. For now I am rocking V10 but I really think about upgrading for a suspension and more headroom

Best all-wheel drive vehicle ever
Nicely done!
I can tell it feels exhilarating in this weather, and yet for me so relaxing to watch

Nice job, as always. Sometimes I have the most fun on short, local rides when practicing skills. A ride doesn't need to be "epic" to be fun.

Snow riding is a good time with the right tire
Can you do a video on what a wheel like the 14D/S can realistically handle and how you use it for commuting and such?
The 16S review will come eventually :) I already have some videos on the 14D on my channel! Feel free to browse :)
