Coming into my 4th winter; I tell newer drivers to keep a “just in case of emergency” situation on the truck. It consist of water, blankets, warm socks, gloves, beanie, dry/can foods, an alternative heat source. A few things I keep on the truck are; snow salt, rubbing alcohol, snow scrapper, shovel, anti-gel, winter gloves m. As far as other options; grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Being a sitting duck and observing is the way to go right now. Next year is going to dictate a lot as far as how much more the market will be affected. Definitely get your hazmat/tanker, it will open lots of doors for you. Best of wishes! Stay safe into these winter months.
Freight is messed up if prime is keeping you rolling and it’s steady steady with them people will tell you things and make it seem good but it’s not it’s messed up through out the market ! I’ll repeat again if they’re keeping you busy and steady stay with them until first of the year and then decide what you’re next play is going to be you’re with the a company that is no 1 in refrigerated freight

The gas is not always greener especially in todays trucking times. Next time your up north maybe look for some work gloves for yourself. 1 other good winter time trick is a spray bottle and carry bleach in your side box. Will help unfreeze brakes in the deepest conditions this winter, the bleach is also good for mirrors and windshield. Please stay safe out there and Thank you for doing what you do.
You are exactly right, the grass is not greener. Right now everyone is at the mercy of the brokers. The load Boards are trash The brokers are the only one really eating at least prime have Steady customer freight.
Mannnn I’m from the south and we shut down at the slightest inch of snow so me driving for the first time in North Dakota and it snowed freaked me out but wasn’t bad after I talked to my homie to know what to do but I Love your videos ❤

I had Covid 3 weeks ago and I’ve had before the only thing that helped me really get rid of it was Robitussin Severe, CVS has its own brand and it works as well. Just something to think about. 29 years I don’t really prepare for winter driving. I just avoid snow ice and freezing rain. And don’t let your fuel tank get below half a tank. Food is a must for all weather not winter alone.
Share the info you received please! Just got my permit and getting my class a in a few weeks! Also please share some insight for new cdl drivers, what you wish you knew, what advice you would give new cdl drivers!
Am I opinion what you need to carry around in the truck in case of winter emergency depends on where you’re at if you’re over the road definitely carry as much stuff as you can because you never know where and when the truck will break down or you might get stuck somewhere in a snowstorm, so probably two days of food and water Like canned goods and water maybe some type of instant coffee or something cold coffee is probably better because maybe you don’t have a way to heat up water in a bad situation. If you’re more regional though odds are if something goes wrong, you will just be may be a few hours stuck without some type of help, but still I guess more is better but it gets cold quick and you definitely need a warm coat and boots and a hat because when the truck breaks down and they told away or could be something minor and you’re able to drive the truck to the shop, but you still may be homeless for a day or two waiting for the truck so you need something warm as you wander the streets hopefully they put you in a motel while you’re waiting

Always good to keep your phone at least have charged to although you might not even be able to use. It depends on where you’re at if you’re in the middle of nowhere, you may have to wait until the police find you and that could take as long is 24 hours.

You need to get a portable SSD drive to save all your work a 2 Terabytes for about $160. About driving, you'll be surprised how much local work you can find.

Do what it is that makes you happy. Don't ever forget that...... If you find something that's better than where you're at then leave. If you don't then stayb till you get tired of it....
