Hi, Gayle and Ed! Hope you both (and Jaime, and the critters) had a happy Thanksgiving today. I'm grateful for the small corners of RUclips (like Clutter Fairy) where people are kind and civil to each other, and are more interested in helping than judging.
I like the gratitude for our possessions and buying power angle. It's warranted and it beats a helpless attitude. We can see ourselves as stewards in a new phase of sharing our "bounty" as though we were perfectly functional and generous all along.
I love Don Aslett. I learned how to clean walls the professional way through reading his books. It's a good skill to have as I have moved into so many filthy apartments in my lifetime.
@@6hZCBpMy No, I'm sorry I don't. I really like Don's books and had nearly everyone (he wrote quite a few). But that was back in the 90's/early 2000's, and we've moved many times since then, and have had to downsize them.
I’m thankful for all the tips I’ve learned from your podcast. A family member just bought their first house and asked if I had any advice on the packing and moving process. I shared your wisdom with them. Gayle and Ed you are creating many many ripples in the pond. ❤
BTW, in the 80s I picked up "Not for Pack Rats Only" by Aslett's 2nd hand. Magically, just by beginning to read it, I noticed I was decluttering. Unfortunately, I left it at a friend's apt and when I called her about it, she said she didn't know whose it was so she decluttered it. ;( Loved that book and the funny illustrations.
You have talked me into letting my baby grand piano go; i plan to replace it with a much smaller electric (a Roland) piano, which has the added benefit that i will be able to play it while wearing headphones, so i can play it without my husband having to hear it:))))) We need to remove some other super-sized furniture, so our son won’t be burdened with them after we’re gone. Thank you for helping this to become possible!
I know some will disagree with me, and I also agree that if it's for example clothes that don't fit, then that is a good reason for returning items. But it's hard for me to see people who constantly buy things and then return items frequently. I guess it's just not ever been my MO, so it's harder for me to understand.

@@intignia That makes sense! Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear the author writes some helpful stuff! :)
Very Grateful for all the tools I am using from the The Clutter Fairy team! Love seeing family start using them too!
