That’s for posting this up. Just had a overheat incident on my E60. Got the fan replaced. I’m curious what would be the max temp to trigger the overtemp warning/fault? I’m paranoid now so I will be driving with this coolant temp up. Thanks again from the Bay Area CA🤙🏽

Probably comes on a couple degrees over fan switching on temp

I have a S85 and I’m pretty sure the thermostat needs to be done. I tried your secret menu trick to monitor the temp while I was driving and it was going from 71c up to 79c. I also have a check engine light that keeps coming on saying increased emissions but when I scan it the code says P0128 Coolant thermostat (coolant temp below thermostat regulating temperature) I was thinking to replace the sensor first cause that’s super easy to get at and then if it persists do the thermostat as well. Thank you for the video it was very easy and informative.

I have a 2011 X3/F25 30d with the 5.7" TFT display in the instrument panel. This car has six digits at the end of the VIN code. Do I have to make a sum of these six digits in this case?
Unfortunately I couldn't find any video with this 5.7" TFT display built in the instrument panel. I learned yesterday that there is such a display partly "behind" the "analog" rev gauge.
I have had the car for more than eight months... Maybe it's time to learn the most(?!) essential things about the car... In this menu you can also read the fault codes!
I have to look at this "a little bit closer" in the next future.

Hey George , 1 question , my hidden menu when engine fully warmed up shows 54-56 degrees and stays that way regardless if i use heating in cab or not. Now my question is does that hidden menu display coolant radiator OUTLET temp or does it show actual coolant temp because usually OBD reader shows two temperatures , if outlet is 56 degrees then coolant would be around 93 degrees , im confused ,just want to know if my thermostat is stuck open or its fine .if that hidden menu shows radiator OUTLET temp then my coolant temp should be around 93 C ????? I also have 520d e60 just want to compare it to your reading on hidden menu when engine fully warmed . Thanks
