That promoter had him killed, there's no doubt. Not sure why, exactly, but trying to keep him around longer but not paying him, I feel like he was stalling while the killer got the jump on Mac Dre. Obviously, idk, but that's my theory. Rip Mac Dre
Facts
Bro the promoter didn't have him killed. They were friends he wasn't the type of person to have done that. The dude who actually did it spread that lie to throw ppl off. Mac was killed by KC dudes he sold some bad thizz to.
RIP to a legend man. Music would be entirely different if dre was still here. Miss that dude man.
Mac Dre was the Godfather of Hyphy, his legacy should be way bigger for influencing the distinct Cali style that’s seen today
Dre the Godfather of Thizz Keak tha Godfather of Hyphy n don't eva forget it. Tha movement started with Aight Cool n 99. Then here come Keak tha sneak then 03 blue jean n Nikes with 40. Then Federation with Hyphy then Dre with Tycoon. That's how that happened

The way you said Vallejo though 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️ Regardless, awesome video. Thank you!
Glad someone else noticed lmao, it's Vallejo not Viejo tf. But I did like the video

5:07 "Mac Dre was still learning how to navigate from the gang influenced life he was accustomed to and his new found fame as an artist. That would be his undoing... "
This is something that every up and coming rap artist is going to have to make a decision about, and understand if they choose wrong chances are they will end up like so many other talented young rappers that lost their lives to senseless gun violence.
First time listening to Mac Dre in 2006 in Seattle WA
You was happy I bet
HOLY FUCK YOU GOT SOME SERIOUS CATCHING UP
TO DO . ENJOY IT ! AND THIZZ IN PEACE MAC DRE
Better late than never!
What's crazy is Kansas City was Mac Dre's biggest fan Base. I mean he's sold more records in Kansas City than he did in California which is why he was always down here doing shows. R.I.P to the legend KC always loved you and always will
You know what's crazy is I'm born and raised in California and I didn't even know who Mac Dre was until I moved here to Kansas city Missouri

Great Video! I love your channel! Could you do Soulja Slim & or Chinx Drugz?
Although I will always give props to Dre for the hyphy and Thizzle movement in rap, this was also the point where party drugs then eventually coke and lean were excepted to be using. Back in the day people were embarrassed to be hooked on drugs, and we should not glorify it ever! They tried offing Keak too. He lucky to be alive
True
my mans n em PARALYZED FOR LIFE......
Ecstacy and heroin were huge way before dre. I'm a 80's baby and thizz was huge in the white raver community here in Central Cali in the 80's an 90's. Dre didn't do nothing but talk about what he was doin
Blaming dre fir kids taking drugs is like blaming ozzy Osborne for kids suicide cus they listen to him an idolized him.
Yo parents failed, the school failed. Not dre. All he did was express himself.
You just got to balance it. Just like with alcohol. Drink the crap and put any crap in your body all the time you will have problems.
think for yourself
A legend bigger than just music to the bay. Me and my friends would idolize him as kids
this story is crazy. i always knew the name mac dre but i never really looked into him
Seems to me that dude was highly disrespectful to his business partners and that cannot be good for your health.
Mac Dre one of the biggest legendary people to come out da Bay Area so is jacka of mob figaz I never for get the day they announced it on kmel shit hurt
So much talent gone way too soon!

MAC DRE still listening in 2023

Legends never die
On some westside shit
The day Mac Dre died, rap became hard to swallow, he made it so effortlessly.
He was a true artist. He could easily become a billionaire.
Mac Dre and Too Short weren’t really friends. Nor enemys.
Omg everytime I play Mac Dre, I play Fat Tone right after. I never even knew they had history. My kids know both artist in 2024 lol. Gotta keep them cultured.
This the real Bay Area goat. Mr. Thizz himself
Look at E-40 first rapper to never sign a deal. Never went platinum but is a multi millionaire. He owns everything that has his name on it. He can sell 300 000 record and make 2-3 million dollars. Cause it was all his money. No one else to pay off. Til this day E -40 is still rich. Mac Dre would of been the same but even BIGGER
Remember when 40 said he could of had Biggie hit.. 40 is Bo’s folks and Tone was Bo’s folks 🤔 🤔 🤔 trip on that
40 always had a deal. What are you talkn about. Hes always been signed to major label.
@@Kk_1100 Nice try. You know nothing about E 40 if you can make a statement like that and believe it. He’s signed to his own record label. And he’s still big in the Bay Area

Fact
I have always believed j diggs had something to do with out of greed and jealousy. Now dre daughter out running the streets looking bad not even taken care of.
That's shit sad man nobody looking out for her all his homies still lightweight ballin can't even toss a chicken wing at her
Yeah niggas is always saying that
I hate to break it to you but it makes no sense. Mac dre was gonna make the thizz movement global and make diggs and them cats more famous, they were on the same label and mac refused to snitch and thats not something people forget, especially someone like diggs. Mac dre's mom, wonda, is ceo of thizz entertainment to this day with diggs as co ceo. Mac dres daughter is just a sad example, she was given money and gave it to her boyfriends and pimps to the point where wonda had to cut her off. You cant save someone from themselves. Diggs still performs on Mac Dre day an event setup by dre's mom, who gets profits from thizz entertainment all music under that label.
I miss the town and the yay area, at least what they used to be.
Me too
ME too
I’ll never forget when I got the call. I met MAC DRE once very humble and dope rapper. Still my favorite rapper 💯

Man wish Dre was still alive, deeply missed 🙏
I had first met mac dre back in nineteen ninety seven and we clicked just like that he was a good friend of mine man he never caused any trouble to people rest in peace I love you I am a big fan of his music he had actually signed me to his record label thing entertainment and I did a mixtape for him he gave me twelve thousand dollars for it thank you man for the money

I’m from Kansas City and I lived a few blocks away from where Mac Dre was killed and I know several people who was cool with both Mac Dre and Fat Ton. I’m telling you now this story that is being told is not right.
Wit the promoter ? I heard dre got into an argument with someone over some pills that day.
All it takes is common sense that tells you that! That bum ass promoter didn't want to Annie up the money he owed! Dre stood on business no matter what he was going to get paid but look who left him! They had it planned! Everybody from Kansas City loved Mac Dre except for this promoter this is the only person I heard say bad shit about Dre and I guarantee he's lying! Dre was the bread winner in thizz nation!
