In this tutorial, I will show you a very effective workflow for reducing the noise in your images using Topaz DeNoise 6. Topaz Labs have released the latest version of their noise reduction software recently. And while they did not update the core noise reduction functionality over the previous version, it is still one of the best if not the best noise reduction software out there.
However, you need to know what you’re doing to get the most out of the application. And in this video, I’m going to show you how to do just that.
This is what I call a perfect tutorial ! Simple, clear and well illustrated. Good Job, you gain a follower :)
The best explanation I've seen on using DeNoise 6. Just used this method on a shot I took last week of fishermen at night using an ISO of 32000. It's worked a treat. Very happy.
Thank you so much
Rob
Sorry!
Wonderful instructional video! I have had Topaz Denoise for many years but never truly utilized the manual adjustments to their full capacity. Thank you.
Outstanding instructional video! You had the visual workflow chart steps to accompany the actual process. Your modulation was easy to follow without verbally rushing through the demonstration. Easily, the best instructional video I have seen. Thank you and I have subscribed.
Awesome Topaz DeNoise 6 tutorial video. You have presented the tutorial very well and was easy to understand as well as implement.
Thank you. Job well done.
Probably THE BEST tutorial that I have watched. Excellent!
A clear and concise explanation, I thought knew Topaz well but still learnt from your vid.Thankyou Klaus.
You are a great teacher, with the smarts to instruct properly and thoroughly. Thank You!
That second step repeating DeNoise and masking.... brilliant!!
With all the apps for Photoshop, noise reduction is still in its infancy. Until "smart" noise reduction evolves to the point where you can easily dial out (0-100%) as much noise as you desire without losing ANY detail or ANY sharpness, Topaz Denoise 6 is an adequate bandaid and this is a good demonstration. Software geeks: keep working at it!
After reading your blog post at farbspiel-photo dot com, I started using DeNoise and very glad to hear about other Topaz plugins.
Thanks a ton!
Now I will watch this excellent tutorial to master DeNoise in order to advance noise reduction.
Keep up the good work 🙌🏼
Cheers 😁

Toll gemacht! Ich habe deinen Kanal abonniert :)
excellent video - thanksTom G
Many thanks you
Very nice tutorial. Do you recomend to open Lightroom in the first way always before apliying Denoise in PS?
Klaus, do you recommend TDN for users of low iso (200-100) and moderate shutter
speeds ( 1/4- 1/500, or so), where noise is not so much of an issue? I have not been
unhappy with noise reduction in LR, but then I also haven't seen a tutorial on noise like yours!!
Now Topaz has a Denoise AI filter as well as AI Clear and Reduce Noise filters that are only available in Studio and Studio 2. Have these newer versions reduce the labor involved in Denoise 6?
Klaus, excellent video - thanks. You mention at the beginning of the video that all noise reduction/sharpening etc should be set to zero. Completely understand this and the reasons why. Does it also apply to everything else (such as setting the Blacks and Whites points in the Basic tab; setting the shadows/highlights etc.)? If I don't adjust anything at all and send the image back from PS to LR do I not lose RAW flexibility with the TIFF file? Apologies if this is really basic stuff. Many thanks. K
Thanks! If you want to maximize the effectiveness of your noise reduction work, you should not apply any adjustments whatsoever before send the image to PS. DeNoise works best when presented with the image straight out of your camera. If you need to, you can try to apply necessary adjustment before sending the image to PS. But chances are that your results will not be as good. But you can always compare the two cases to see if it makes a difference.
Perfectly clear Klaus. Once again, many thanks for a great tutorial. I'm now subscribed so will look forward to some more learning.
What's that awesome pen and penpad? 😱
Gibt es das auch in Deutsch. ???????
Schade, daß es nicht in Deutsch ist. Es gibt so viele englische Tutorials bezüglich Topaz-Software, aber leider kaum deutsche.

Having you down right is very distractive.
Hi Klaus. What laptop do you use for your editing? I'm using my old Dell latitude E4310 but the screen never displays my colors very bad. And it's slow.
