Apparently she took very few vocal lessons & as far as we know she's never had a vocal coach. Her mother said she didn't want singing lessons to change her uniqueness. However, she has been well advised on how to take care of her voice. She sang this song many times after this performance, but never again with all the screams, growls & antics of this performance. Those techniques, if used repetitively at that young age, would have been very harmful for her vocal development. Her vocal chords will continue to develop through her 20's which should scare many Superstar singers of today. She is known by her fans as the 'Girl With 1,000 Voices," because she can change her voice to match the song & style she is singing. Hello again, my friend, and thank you so much for another excellent reaction to Angelina. You are very quickly becoming one of my favorite reactors. I have been following Angelina since she was 7, and I don't think you're spot on with the comments about her being purely instinctive in this one. She definitely HAS that capacity, to be instinctive whenever she wants, but I feel that this was a bit more planned. And EXTREMELY well executed. Her jazz background has definitely helped her raise those instincts to a very high level, as jazz in an on itself contains a lot of improvisations. But so far she hasn't really performed a whole lot of that particular style of jazz, where the improvisations is paramount and what's intended. That being said, there is no doubt in my mind that she has been listening very much to it. Her musical understanding will most definitely allow her to digest and appreciate what she hears, and LEARN from it. With jazz background I mean that jazz was the genre she was first introduced to, through her grandmother's records, listening a lot to Billie Holiday, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and a whole slew of other greats in jazz. For me personally though, except for the undeniable timbre and quality of her voice, what stands out to me the most is her impeccable timing. As far as the timing goes, I think that part is the closets she gets to improvising or purely going off instincts. I'm not saying that I am right, only that this is how I perceive her and her craft. Also listening to modern mentors like Adele, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Norah Jones and the great Elvis Presley. Angelina is a combination of all these voices as she grows into her own unique style. She definitely has her own voice as you see through her free-flowing jazz interpretations of all her covers and originals that you will get to see in the coming years my friend. Angelina has over 250 covers and originals for you to enjoy in her huge catalog that is continuing to grow. As we speak. Angelina will become a global star there is no question and doubt in the coming years. Most of us believe that she is a child prodigy and a musical genius with her ability to navigate through these difficult traditional iconic songs of the 50s and '60s and still bringing her own vocal vocabulary into the songs. Commento la bambina "pensierosa" perché Angelina ha un'incredibile etica del lavoro e cerca di eseguire ogni canzone in un modo che ritiene possa far emergere tutte le emozioni contenute nei testi e nella melodia. (k) Forse la cosa più notevole è che, nonostante la sua tenera età, canta con una convinzione così totale che la sua autenticità non viene mai messa in dubbio. È facile credere che abbia vissuto gli eventi descritti nei testi. Non è solo la sua voce ad essere ipnotizzante, sono anche le sue espressioni facciali e il modo in cui usa le mani e il corpo. You'll be surprised to learn that Angelina does not do anything "instinctive". She knows exactly what she's doing and how to do it. And that's what makes her so special. You saw her change some notes and give the sheet to the conductor of the band, to which he smiled. The musicians call her "The Boss". You'll find some videos where she's directing the musicians at the age of 7 and 8. Angelina was fond of jazz from a very early age and she listened to the jazz greats from a very early age (her grandmother introduced to the jazz greats when she was about 3 or 4, so she has a very sharp ear and a great ability to emulate the greatest jazz singers: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, etc... Listen to her performances on Norway's got talent where she sang 2 Billie Holiday songs (one of them acapella) then Nancy Sinatra/ Cher "Bang Bang" and finally "Summertime" by Gershwin. L'ho guardata e ascoltata con ammirazione da quando ha pubblicato il suo primo video su RUclips, e quello che mi è stato evidente fin dall'inizio è che canta con totale convinzione, nonostante sia troppo giovane per aver vissuto gli eventi. suggerito nel testo della canzone che ha scelto di cantare. Ma non è solo questo, per quanto strano possa sembrare è il fatto ancora più notevole che riesca a trasmettere le emozioni appropriate all'interno di quei testi al suo ascoltatore.
Questo è il tributo di Angelina a Screamin' Jay Hawkins, che scrisse ed eseguì la canzone nel 1956 (50 anni prima della nascita di Angelina). Ha basato il suo arrangiamento sulla sua performance originale, anche se ha scartato tutta la teatralità e ha permesso alla sua voce e al linguaggio del corpo di raccontare la storia. La canzone è stata interpretata da molti cantanti nel corso degli anni, ma per quanto ne so, Angelina è l'unica che ha cantato nello stesso stile dell'originale.
Ci sono molte cose che ho trovato particolarmente degne di nota in questo video. Alcuni li ho riconosciuti subito e quelli che mi mancavano sono stati segnalati alla mia attenzione dai fan più attenti di Angelina (i suoi Angeli) e li ringrazio per avermi fatto capire cosa mi ero persa. Un altro "Angelo" di Angelina ha sottolineato qualcos'altro che mi era sfuggito, ed è aggiunto al punto (l) di seguito,
(a) Angelina finisce di scrivere le modifiche dell'ultimo minuto che desiderava e le consegna al direttore musicale, che sorride.
(b) Un breve sguardo a Mery Zamani, la nonna materna di Angelina, un'artista e poetessa iraniana molto conosciuta e rispettata che era anche una bambina prodigio. È stata lei la persona che ha riconosciuto il talento di Angelina in tenera età e l'ha esposta a tutti i cantanti jazz dei vecchi tempi.
(c) La candela con sopra l'immagine di Screamin' Jay Hawkins.
(d) Il sorriso sul volto del bassista.
(e) Come si è alzata in punta di piedi l'ultima volta che ha cantato "...perché sei mia"
(f) Il fatto che occasionalmente faccia riferimento ai suoi appunti scritti sul leggio. Forse per ricordare a se stessa i cambiamenti dell'ultimo minuto che desiderava.
(g) La sua passione incrollabile durante tutta la performance. Lo dimostrano le sue espressioni facciali e il modo in cui usa le mani e il corpo per enfatizzare la direzione della canzone.
(h) Il modo in cui prende fiato appena prima di iniziare l'ultima frase (non mi interessa...) e quel respiro dura per tutta la nota sostenuta. Un bambino di quell’età non dovrebbe avere la capacità di tenere in mano una banconota per quel periodo di tempo.
(i) Alla fine, quando canta I Doooont Caaaaare, impiega DUE vibrati separati e distinti per la parola care, uno ampio per iniziare la parola e uno più stretto per chiudere la parola
(j) La trasformazione istantanea dalla modalità "performance" a quella di una bambina pensierosa, che forse si chiede se avrebbe potuto fare di meglio. Commento la bambina "pensierosa" perché Angelina ha un'incredibile etica del lavoro e cerca di eseguire ogni canzone in un modo che ritiene possa far emergere tutte le emozioni contenute nei testi e nella melodia.
(k) Forse la cosa più notevole è che, nonostante la sua tenera età, canta con una convinzione così totale che la sua autenticità non viene mai messa in dubbio. È facile credere che abbia vissuto gli eventi descritti nei testi. Non è solo la sua voce ad essere ipnotizzante, sono anche le sue espressioni facciali e il modo in cui usa le mani e il corpo. La sua presenza scenica è elettrizzante.
(l) L'esecuzione è assolutamente potente e cruda, ma per me sono stupito che sia bilanciata dalla profonda bellezza della frase finale; le ultime dodici parole della canzone. E... sono essenzialmente cantati a cappella!
Angelina è stata definita la "Regina del Jazz", "La principessa scalza", "La ragazza dalle mille voci". Sono tutte vere, ma preferisco il soprannome che le ho dato dopo aver ascoltato circa sei delle sue esibizioni. Per me lei è "Il camaleonte della canzone", perché come un camaleonte è in grado di cambiare colore per adattarlo all'ambiente circostante, così Angelina è in grado di cambiare il "colore" della sua voce per adattarsi accuratamente alle esigenze di rivelazione della canzone. le emozioni all'interno dei testi e della melodia. Ancora più notevole è la sua innata capacità di comunicare quelle stesse emozioni ai suoi ascoltatori.
AFAIK at 9 yo she have had 4-5 years professional vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program...
but that she was able to realise all she learned is the real prodigious 😀

You'll be surprised to learn that Angelina does not do anything "instinctive". She knows exactly what she's doing and how to do it. And that's what makes her so special. You saw her change some notes and give the sheet to the conductor of the band, to which he smiled. The musicians call her "The Boss". You'll find some videos where she's directing the musicians at the age of 7 and 8. Angelina was fond of jazz from a very early age and she listened to the jazz greats from a very early age (her grandmother introduced to the jazz greats when she was about 3 or 4, so she has a very sharp ear and a great ability to emulate the greatest jazz singers: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, etc... Listen to her performances on Norway's got talent where she sang 2 Billie Holiday songs (one of them acapella) then Nancy Sinatra/ Cher "Bang Bang" and finally "Summertime" by Gershwin. Needless to say that she won the competition at age 8 with awe and amazement of the jury.

è un genio autodidatta, roba rarissima, per questo la trovi anomala confrontandola con le coetanee. La miglior definizione su di lei l'ha data un tuo collega italiano, Bravo: "lei è nata farfalla, che nel tempo ha aggiunto stupendi colori alle sue ali".
La prima cosa da notare qui, è che una bambina di 9 anni ha scelto una canzone scritta 60 anni prima. La seconda è, che è suo l'arrangiamento (all'inizio la vedi consegnare al direttore della band le sue ultime istruzioni). La terza. Probabilmente per non danneggiare le corde vocali la versione "a bestia" l'ha fatta raramente, le altre volte l'ha addolcita.
