He said its great youre here at this hour. dont stay out past 10. It gets empty. Were being watched and something may happen. Be careful, thank you and thanks for chatting.
@@matthewjohnmurphy He roughly said “the noble it’s good to come at this hour after 10 take precautions because its very empty and you never know who is watching and something may happen, be careful, nice to meet you and thank you for your attention.” The comment above sounded like you are in fact being watched and you aren’t it’s just a precaution.
Another glorious video! Felt like we were there with you for the ride. Not hitchhiked too much on my travels, but I was picked up by some wonderful, kind people in Georgia and Armenia - and I felt the same then as you described: safe. Well, I mean they still drove at breakneck pace but that was the same with almost everyone 😂 can't wait for part 3... you're meant for this whole RUclips thing!!! ❤
I’m from tijuana, today I came back from Oaxaca, I enjoyed this place a lot, I bought a lot of art from the different gallerys and an alebrije from Jacobo s art store , I love the different place to eat and to take coffee, your video is wonderful, thank you and if you want to come to tj, here you have a friend
You have a talent there Matt ... I felt like I was being individually approached. The Mexican 'Thing' came through to me with every scene ... a lively vibrant place showing people with a joy of living. I think the message said 'they' were glad that you were interested enough to leave the trodden path but watch out, there ARE bad things that you could encounter ... like the crazy lady who gets up at 10 !!😂😂
What this video lacks is food reviews and more travel tips 🤣 Just kidding. Amazing work. When you started describing your early morning rise to watch the sunset, my stomach contracted. As a mexican, I would not go trekking in the mountains while it's dark. And the person you encountered shares my concerns. It's just not super safe. The message reads "It's good to come at this hour, but after 10 [pm I guess] take precautions. Since it's desolate, someone may be watching you and you may have an issue. Glad to meet you and appreciate your attention." Love your work and enjoy Mexico.
This made me laugh. Thank you. You know, I had a story to tell about a dog encounter but not the footage to piece it together. As you can imagine I was too busy protecting myself with my tripod from a street dog with puppies that I woke up 😱. Luckily we both agreed that today was not the day, and parted ways. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Thanks again for the comment, and take care.
I’m always so skeptical whenever I watch a video from my country because a lot of them just do them for the views and controversy but we are way more than that. Every country has its pros and cons but you captured the reality and honest opinion of your experience and with that I am truly honor. I hope you enjoyed Mexico and we can’t wait to have you back. Next time try: Real de Catorce, Campeche, Taxco, Xilitla. All very different all very beautiful. Cheers mate!
Thank you Eric. It means a lot to me that this is recognised. I understand that it's possible to be drawn into controversy, click bait and sensationalism on this platform, as it means more views, clicks and money. But I refuse to sell my integrity, or to purposefully waste the time of my viewers. It will be interesting to see if it is possible to make a living that way on here in the future, I hope so. But time will tell. Look after yourself. Matt 🙏🏼
NB. Perhaps a channel can grow through people sharing the work of someone who has a refreshing perspective, kindness and some awareness of his own ignorance. But hate unfortunately spreads faster than love.
RUclips analytics pays off again👏🏻 superbly done video👍 great content, expertly shot and edited. I only have one question: why has RUclips forgotten to put five zeros on your subscriber number? Well done👍👏🏻✌️🤙
The person that typed the message on your phone was trying to warn you to be careful about beeing in that place after 10 o' clock (i guess he/she meant at night) because it gets kind of lonely and someone with not very good intentions might be hanging around. Precautionary advice. Great videos. Will share them. Saludos afectuosos.
Another great chapter. Your combination of video and people skills, compassion and extroversion are perfect for capturing the heart of a place. Really enjoyed watching. Hope this is the start of something special for you.
Beautiful images! Thank you. We visited Oaxaca in December (2018) when it was much greener in the surrounding valleys and hills. We did visit Hierve el Agua - the view of the surrounding valley was incredible (but I did not get into the water - it was December after all). The other thing I loved was the almost constant celebrations in the city. We were there for the Virgin of Solidad feast day (Dec. 18). There were huge parades, church bells ringing all night and endless loud fireworks. We also saw weddings, baptisms and a few nativity posadas (Virgin Mary riding a donkey in a parade with all the manger animals). We go back to the state of Oaxaca every year for the month of December - but stay on the coast (where there is still excellent Oaxaqueno food and culture). I would go back to the city - but it is a bit challenging to get back and forth (we flew to Oaxaca and then took Toucan Air to Puerto Escondido - now we just fly direct from CDMX to PE. I hear the bus trip through the mountains is rough). But someday I hope to return to what I think is the most culturally rich city in North America. You have definitely inspired me to think about another visit. Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you 🙏🏼 I am from England. I was in Mexico in February, for nearly 4 weeks. So I am back in the UK now. Going through footage and trying to find the time to put the stories together and upload them. I am glad you enjoy the channel, I hope it stays that way :) Take care of yourself. Matt

English guy: how do I say the name of the city?
Local: wa ha ka
EG: wuh hack uh?
L: wa ha ka
Eg: got it, wuh hack uh. yous got any tackos?
🤣 Put "Matt" instead of English guy. I am sure there are many English with better pronunciation than I.
