Makes sense - when my kids were younger, I had to adjust my play style a few times to fit. Speaking from hard-won personal experience of not always doing things the best way, putting your personal life ahead of EVE is the right choice.
I’ve watched almost every one of your videos. I support your views and enjoy your content. As a father myself finding the time for gaming is hard sometimes. My son is 2 now but it’s still just as hard sometimes. What I found is when you find your routine and you have an idea ok between time x and x my son will probably be awake. Setup a couple retrievers and a porp and eat a high sec belt. Stock it up or sell it whatever. The point is it’s slow paced and safe enough you can do the required fatherly duties and still retain some form of enjoyment from your game. You don’t always have to do the biggest and best in 5 mins. It opens the door to fluctuations in play style and you’ll find you become less numb to things as you are “away” for x time where you normally wouldn’t be. Sorry for the book but you have the right idea and we all look forward to what you throw at us 👍🏻👍🏻 enjoy the 2am struggles. They are precious and won’t last forever.
I appreciate the words my friend. Currently, Im sitting in a high sec system with an Orca and a hulk, just chilling out. Means I can get the family stuff done with still make some isk in the background. I definitely am enjoying it, as with my 7 year old, I know how quickly it all passes.
Similar scenario , sold my house in the city to move in to take care of grandparents and their farm along with my roofing company blah blah blah long story short, too busy and it gave me similar issues : -no time -no energy -not able to commit to any roams , even short ones -not even able to commit to gate camps -Can't join comms without being asked 900x who I'm on the computer telephone with lol -Have to leave at a moment notice So I basically came up with way of playing that compliments my current life ......... Instead of being always docked , I am now just always cloaked BUT in places of opportunity. I sit cloaked with both a sabre and DPS on a close to trade hub Wormhole and ambush whatever I want that enters......... and I have never been more successful in Eve as a "solo" pilot ( 2 chars obviously) Each and every night , for the 1-2 hours I play , I get more outrageously ridiculous kills then I ever have and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise being forced to afk / play this way The tactic allowed me to become the top killer in Thera for the last 3 years competing with HUGE groups of really good players all blue to each other and I play all alone , just 2 characters and somehow still #1 by alot while only attacking VIP targets , no seal clubbing So sometimes Eve and life throws ya curve ball but it puts you on the correct path in Life and in game - If you're ever interested on EXACTLY how I do what I do to adopt something similar , click the E as I have many replays uploaded - No commentary , just views from my DPS characters perspective . You could even fleet up with me but both of us are far too busy n afk ;) o7 Hope ya find your new thing
If that's your thing, I mostly go into Wormholes close to Jita, so you've probably came across my Buzzard or Prospect without realising that its me hahah
A little help pls. I am an alpha player and new to eve. I would very much like to enter pochven through some place called senda. I still dont know how to enter any low sec area without a gate since I am not able to "set destination," to senda system-on the map. My apologies if this sounds like very basic stuff, but could you please guide me on how to get to senda system? I am actually looking for wormholes to pochven, which are supposed to occasionally spawn in this senda region.
Wormholes to pochven spawn in systems that have been invaded by Trigs, not just one place. If you’re looking to get to Pochven, you can just buy a border filament on the market and warp into Pochven
I have a 3 yr old now and it is still tough. My only time is at night - and sometimes im just too damn tired. Hopefully real life is going well for you.
As a father of 3 I feel this.. It gets easier but props for putting your kid first! Maybe I can help you out if you’re looking for a like minded null sec corp where family comes first.
its alright to play eve as a casual for a few years , make a new character or think of an area of the game that you enjoy that's not time intensive id probably do something boring like air carrier skill point farming or like abyssal , its totally fine to put your family first and think of a more casual low time investment way you can enjoy the game or heck just take a break from eve for a couple years
I’ve gotten into a more slower pace in high sec. I’ve got two characters doing things that are mostly done while I’m not playing, so it’s easier going now.
I see you ratting with a neutral in system why? Also ratting in staging systems can be much more dangerous so going just a few jumps further is usually safer
That neut you see in local, was part of a corp who left our alliance and was in the process of joining another friendly alliance in the same space. It took a few days, so everyone in local knew who they were and they were fine to move about. We treated them as blue.
I do respect different ways of playstyle especially real life more important but yet you choose to play with big expensive ships in game in high risk scenarios. So giving up on null just because you dont have time to continue doing this.. its just natural selection to me because it is a PVP game with alot of unvoluntary PVP, people either forget what it is or are just blindly stupid. Nullsec can be good enough for everyone, the game has its ways to keep players modest and not just pile up on afk minecraft activities.
Not giving up on null because I don't have time to rat or mine, giving up on null cause I had no time put into my main character, due to having to leave at a moments notice. Yes, I used a rattlesnake, but I also used a Dominix, and a Buzzard and a retriever. Ships that don't cost much. Still doesn't mean I want to lose them. To say the game is solely PVP is blindly stupid as well. The game focuses on PVP, but if it wasn't for industry people you wouldn't have ships to fly. So, you're more than welcome to your opinion about how I gave up on null sec, I just don't agree with it
@@Expedishun let me clarify, Its fine to do industry stuff but while you are unable to simply protect yourself and pay attention to the minimum to not fall into negative income then you have made a right choice to quit it.

Definitely is the right choice, and who knows, once my son is a bit older I could be moving somewhere else instead of staying in high sec

Each and every night , for the 1-2 hours I play , I get more outrageously ridiculous kills then I ever have and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise being forced to afk / play this way
The tactic allowed me to become the top killer in Thera for the last 3 years competing with HUGE groups of really good players all blue to each other and I play all alone , just 2 characters and somehow still #1 by alot while only attacking VIP targets , no seal clubbing
