9:56 Here's a trick for watching the wormhole with an alt - If you put your camera on the wormhole from the alt, then zoom all the way into the wormhole, you can hear people splashing in and out of the wormhole. It sounds like an ominous drumbeat. If you hear the drumbeat, switch to the scout and see who shows up. (Make sure your world level audio settings on your scout are turned way up to make sure you hear it over the combat.) Everybody who spends any amount of time in wormholes should know both the sound of a wormhole splash and the cloak failure alarm.
Also, if you splash a wormhole yourself, you can also hear the drumbeat splash sound (if you need to learn what it sounds like). The trick is just that you can hear others do it as well. 😁
I've got five accounts all trained into cloaky somethings just for eyes. Obviously they all do lots of other things but I cam typically watch any hole I'm too lazy to close or too far down the chain to roll.
I personally love WH ratting, as it is super lucrative and probably just about the safest place in the game if you put in the effort to make it safe. To do so you need a understanding of how WH systems and WHs work, which will allow you to close all connections to your system. Unless you have someone who is logged off in the hole or already in the hole idly cloaked (both of which are extraordinarily rare to the point where Ive never had it happen) no one can enter the system without getting a random WH in which you will immediately be alerted to and more often then not you will have several hours if not days before you get a random inward connection and in that time you can safely farm getting an easy 1b+/hr per farming character you are running.
My problem is, that when Im not in a Cloaky ship, i get very nervous when in a wormhole, I just always feel like Im surrounded, and just ready to be jumped. I know its not the case, definitely need to get out of that mindset.
@Expedishun I feel that. I do love my cloaky ships in the wormholes. I just skilled into hacs to rat in c3s with. I've been using my loki but that's risking a bit too much isk I think so I'm gonna give hacs a try.
hehhe classic drake!! Great vid man ha, and yea maybe next time eh? Also if your concerned about how long stuff takes to and worried about getting dropped on you could maybe fit some ecm drones, and maybe a burst jammer, its a mid slot which is rough for the drake but could save your life in a pinch. Doing new stuff is always nice though and very good viewing on my end. Cheers.
Yea, I think going forward if I do it again, I will definitely be using a ship I’m more comfortable in. I just felt really vulnerable in the drake. Tengu on the other hand tho!
a whole new breed of people ...ill take that ! solo ratting is like trapping your testicles in the door over and over ...you know it hurts but you slam the door again to check how much ! situationaly awareness is absolutely everything... and use Tripwire to map your route..
Hey There buddy. I regularly rat in c13 wolf rayet wormholes in a kikimora. You can safely make over 120m isk an hour..! Let me know if you’d like me to show you a way into one. I can also show you the fit if you’d like..?!
I appreciate that, but my playtime has decreased quite a bit due to the family expanding in the next few days. I will take you up on that offer when I get more time to play tho!
Are you offering to share your c13? I just trained up a kiki pilot and a scanning pilot to drop into a c13. Found a wr c5 and was able to clear the rats off a vital core with the kiki. Had a couple deacons to help take the nuet aggro but it worked flawlessly.cant wait to get into a c13.
@@brianchristopher8843 sure I can share an opening with you If you’d like to get into a c13..?! Yeah a Kiki can handle the rats at a VCR no problems but don’t bother trying an ICR with one. They can’t do it alone unfortunately..!
That is a perimeter checkpoint (C2) site - wh ratting is an interesting this for me. I joind straight into wh on a 5m skill point toon right out of highsec. 2-3 years later the paranoia doesnt really go away. But thats for good reason. We do get jumped alot when playing solo. Its part of the play style. But alot of use crave pvp and welcome the content. as much as haveing shiney toys in harms way is stressful the goal of wh players is th be as "safe" as possible while makeing more than enough isk to outweigh the losses. With that site being a c2 depending on the cost of the ship (100-150 mil on the drake) you would be looking at 10-15 sites to pay that back.ita a good start but yes c2 sites are sub optimal. The rats spawn far away and the drake sacrifices dos to get the pasive tank. C3 are 50-45 mil per site and a praxis woyld be 240-350 so a little better or the isk value, or you can even do them in tengus. Long story short, solo ratting is inherently more dangerous like you said, it atill gets done and wh can lead to some fun content and lots of iskies. Also how much of a nest egg are you looking to setup?

Will definitely try that!
Im more than familiar with the cloak failure alarm, usually any time I hear it, I end up dying hahah

I admire your honesty, that solo fear can be fun but it if it isn't for you there is plenty of other stuff to do. Keep up the good vids.
I appreciate it bud!

😂 yeah, being in there gets you wondering about too many things and end up creeping yourself out 😂
Wormholes are neat though...and fun.
Oh definitely a lot of fun, always has me on edge too

If I’m being honest, I’m not overly sure, just when I feel comfortable with what I’ve got built up.
hey i live in a wh we do c5 and c3 ratting if you ever need fits for wh ratting me know
Do you first find locations using a scanning ship, and then change ship?
No these sites are already scanned down as it’s a standard combat site
Welcome to j-space 😎
oh and vagabond for the win!
Great commentary
Thanks bud!
fit please
