I played Code Veronica in high school, recovering from a surgery on the Dreamcast. I remembered it having such an impact on me, and loving it (and cementing my love of Claire which lasts to this day). I downloaded it on my PS5 after playing through the remakes and remasters. I was almost ashamed at how much I had forgotten about the game. And while voice acting has definitely come a long way, I feel CV withstood the test of time. This piece is almost heartbreakingly beautiful. I am so grateful I could play through it again, almost as if it were the first time! I would love a remake of this game.
Same. I still find myself occasionally coming back to listen to this song after all this time. Back in the day I would just chill after using the piano roll in order to hear the piano on loop , of course keeping a save slot dedicated to right before I used it so I could go back whenever I wanted. Such happy memories. :)

For those who didn't know, "Berceuse" is French for lullaby. It's related to the French verb "bercer" which means "to cradle" (a "berceau" is a cradle).

For years I have been wondering what this lullaby is saying. Now that I know what is it saying, another question that hits me is : Why say these random and incomplete story. Don't get me wrong, I think the music is great, and so does the voice of Alexia when she is singing it. But the lyrics of it doesn't make a lot of sense, especially for a lullaby. There was a nice king, and got himself killed. And that is all? So, nothing before, in the middle, and afterwards? I don't know for most of you, but it does sound a kind of strange to me. Anyway, may be the composer was high pressed to write lyrics that goes well with the music and that was the best thing that he or she could come up.

It is simply about an evil Queen who kills the kind King because she wants to take over .the queen probably refers to Alexia.
@@ColdStorms I doubt that. If the queen is alexia, than who would the king be? It would certainly not her brother, as I don't know about the naive part, but he certainly cannot be described as friendly and he is anything but loved.

And one more thing: She sure didn't kill her brother. It was Claire and Steve who killed him, and it certainly is not planned by her for the purpose of getting his power. Remember, alexia has been way more influence than her brother even before she went to her 15 years sleep. And after she awake from her sleep, she has even less motives to do so.
