The Beast sunshell does break. The 5 black springs in the direct drum, tossed in the trash can. They restrict the clutches from floating burning them up.Aftermarket says to do that finding this out and GM says to put them back in.Don't ever get a Monster transmission, junk. No upgrades done, mismatched clutches doing bad work.I know a transmission repair shop in my area that hates these, they fix their screw ups
I've got a 1994 4L60E that's never been taken apart ever to fix and it's just now running the torque converter out, 3rd gear shakes the whole truck if you slightly apply throttle but if you romp on, it smooths out.
I’ve got a 2001 I’m at 190k with no rebuilds before me it’s hunting gears so now I’m going to rebuild it
Sounds like the uh…. Transmission is bad.
Might have to hit up a junk yard for another one
Jamie, could make some REAL MONEY if he would teach a weekend Seminar on how to rebuild transmission.
Hello
I am repairing my tahoe transmission(4l60e), changed lots of parts to new, it goes smoothly to N,P,R,1,2, everything works amazing, except D is not working, you can go to D while driving only, can you help with that? Did you have such problem? Thanks
BTW, I built my 4L80E for a total of $2,425.00, INCLUDING the $900.00 converter. This would be a $5,000.00 build on a 650 hp 4L60eeeee build, and you better pray your car is hella light.
Same here and I used AN fittings, braided SS lines and a true cool 40k cooler..miles ahead of the 60eeeeee(the sound they make when they hit that mystery neutral lol)..use that 60e as a wheel chok or boat anchor..
@@spyderlyf3 Man, I like you already!!! I also use the same big ass Tru Cool 40k cooler.
What's the best easy to understand rebuild manual..that doesn't cost a bunch..4l60e
You did put a 13 van pump in that thing you guys are under building that transmission
I caught that too. He only used a 10 vane.
When they say low buck they mean that's what the script says
Curious question will that transmission fit a 1993 chevy g10 van?
Why are you not presoaking the clutches?
Thats trans case would have fit in the parts washer i know i been in the industry
Kevin Tetz is a paint master, he's on eastwood's channel also.
I think he did autobody collision in a life prior.
Is that really what's all in a transmission Is those clutches and other things that fit together like a puzzle
I didn't read all the comments but why not go with a 13 vane pimp? What year is the Silverado?
If my 5.3 v8 vortec motor had 450 HP would i have to have the 4l60e transmission rebuild to handle the amount of HP and more fl-lb
Great video. In My 4L60e,in my 2000 Chevy s10,I was driving and noticed it slipping a little. All of the sudden it quit pulling.Like it went to neutral.Next day it worked until it got warm, then nothing. What you think.
It’s smoked.
4:40 When they rebuild a normal transmission. They don't buy parts from TCI. They buy parts from a much cheaper company.
6:26 There is no need to install a 5 pinion front planet. They never fail. There is no need for a 5 pinion rear planet if you keep a clean filter. It is only used in overdrive and reverse. If you don't change the filter. A 5 pinion will wear out just a soon.
Well deserved rewards
How do you test it to me it done with out putting it back on the truck
How can I get these people to rebuild my transmission ???
I am located in New York
outstanding!!!
@16:20
Now that you've had the truck for a while how's the transmission holding up. Did they do a good job. I'm thinking about doing an LS swap on my 87 blazer and I'm gonna run 4L60. There's shops only about 300 miles from me so I want to know if it's good.
Just don’t do it, run a 4L80 or TH400
He made a Christmas tree out of transmission parts .lol
Those clutches go in dry or lubed?
I didn't notice.
Scrap the 383 and go with an Iron Duke to make people stop and stare.
That Toyota needs a frame upgrade next.
I can take any transmission apart but won’t have a clue into putting it back 😂
