I learned about him a few weeks back. Looked at his tour dates. A lot of sold out shows and those tickets ain't cheap. Was considering the Snowshoe WV show, but you can't even get a room on the mountain that weekend.
rclaws I’m 58 and I’ve relearned 2 chords tonight because of this YOUNG man...hadn’t attempted to play since I was 12 when I gave it up because I didn’t have time...now I wanna learn because I’m running out of time...lol I had a friend who gave me a guitar today...and said “Dave if you can sing then I wanna hear you play too” I’m gonna do it...Billy is inspiring, even to us old guys ain’t he my friend?
@@HopeCityChurch_PineKnotKy. like you I to have dropped it just to find I have to much short time and and you can only fish so much,ha,im on lake Cumberland in SE KY, hope we see you on stage you never know how those fingers will fly, Thxs, gb
Can we all take time to appreciate the whole band here? Billy is straight up fantastic, but this was a team effort and the musicianship here is excellent!
Billy is already one of the greats! He doesn't get the recognition he deserves yet. After he passes people will say he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
I just came across a video of a young kid on a couch playing a song called, "Dust In a Baggie," and for the past 4 days all I've been listening to is Billy Strings. This kid has all the talent in the world and has restored my faith in new talent being there, but having to search for it or me just getting lucky.
Danny H. I know just exactly how you feel about Billy Strings and his bandmates. I ran across him on RUclips bout 3-4 years ago and all but fell out of my chair. Having been raised in the 60s and now 61, I was brought up in a South Georgia family that was very musically talented on my moms side. Got dragged to every Gospel sing and Bluegrass show that came to our hometown of Nashville,Ga. Gospel and Bluegrass style Gospel is still my favorite of all my music styles. Billy is the most talented 6 string acoustic guitar player I've seen live or listened to in my life. Could watch and listen to him and his band All Damn Day Long!!
This is most high energy bluegrass group around. You won't sit down if you've seen Billy Strings group live. His exciting performance are without equal.
@@Griffin6933 Kinda the same here, 3 weeks ago, never heard em before and it was great, And, they allow you to record them on your phone, if you want ! :)
That reminds me, I listen to way too much music through my iPad and I’m not doing it justice because obviously the speakers are tiny and bass gets reduced

Yeah that was very cool, and then the follow up was, when asked to introduce song three, he says, "well, this is the last song we're playing here today. It's the title track. *huge smile* " I am in love with this guy
Listening while writing. When you get introduced to Billy’s genius it’s exhilarating and oh so much fun. His respect for and interaction with his own musicians and anyone else on stage with him, makes you just love him more! Not generally a big bluegrasser, but damn... Forgive me guys, but hearing a grown man's voice coming out of a guy who looks like a kid is impressive, and the songwriting is really strong. Instruments shine; that Martin sounds great, and so do the harmonies. I'd go see this band any time...

The future of our beloved Bluegrass music is in the best possible hands with Billy, Molly Tuttle, Greensky Bluegrass, Stringdusters, et al. Such ENORMOUS talents; will power another generation!
I absolutely LOVE “while I’m waiting here”.. Such a beautifully arranged tune! The low bass note descending movement over the static D/Dsus chord is really pretty and lends a certain melancholy sonically to a typically very happy & bright D-major key cadence. Billy is fantastic at taking bluegrass progressively forward without deviating too far from the traditional music & legendary artists like Doc Watson that heavily inspired him!
Not enough superlatives to shower down on this group and their leader. Destined for greatness in times to come. Great new songs keep coming from him.....Newgrass Bluegrass in good hands here!!
Wow. I found Billy and just can`t stop listening. It's just like when I found the dead. Couldn't help it. Again and again. It's just killing me. And I'm so grateful for these kinds of deaths.

[Verse 1]
I ain't slept in seven days, haven't ate in three
Methamphetamine has got a damn good hold of me
My tweaker friends have got me to the point of no return
I just took the lighter to the bulb and watched it burn
[Chorus]
This life of sin has got me in
Well it's got me back in prison once again
I used my only phone call to contact my daddy
I got twenty long years for some dust in a baggie
[Verse 2]
Well if I would have listened to what Mom and Papa said
I wouldn't be locked up in prison, troubled in the head
I took that little pop and sucked until my mind was spun
I got twenty years to sit and think of what I've done
[Chorus]
This life of sin has got me in
Well it's got me back in prison once again
I used my only phone call to contact my daddy
I got twenty long years for some dust in a baggie
[Verse 3]
Sometimes I sit and wonder where my little life went wrong
These old jailhouse blues have got me singing this old song
My life is a disaster, Lord and I feel so ashamed
In here where they call by a number, not a name
Yeah that was very cool, and then the follow up was, when asked to introduce song three, he says, "well, this is the last song we're playing here today. It's the title track. *huge smile* "
