If you think this movie is boring you need to see a doctor. EVERYTHING is great about it! Actors, plot, soundtrack, EVERYTHING!
I can only see one possible flaw: (and I wouldn't have seen this if it weren't for a commentary by Coppola) More suspense needed in hospital scene.
But I simply refuse to hate on my favorite movie of all time.

@@thesaviour5024 Same and fell inlove instantly, The Godfather made me broaden my horizon about films, this film is special to me because it set a path for me discovering legendary filmmakers like Martin Scorsese, Sidney Lumet, Alfred Hitchcock , Stanley Kubrick etc.

I never said laugh out loud but they are a joke all I want to do is laugh at them when I see them walking around like there tough shit. At least the gangs around here are a complete joke my neighbors could take care of them much less the cops. And yes that is how all the families and gangs began back when they first came here but from then on out the people brought into the family or born into it knew exactly what they were getting themselves into. And like you said turned into a criminal empire the other gangs like the cartels were never about helping each other in the beginning though they have always been about killing. And all criminals are scum and deserve to be executed all I was saying though is that some were a lot more respectable then others and actually looked like a top notch criminal empire hence the suits and such as apposed to guys wearing pants down to their ass and holding guns sideways because its "Gangsters style" who look retarded in my opinion.

It pains me that people can ever say this movie is too long, or boring. This is one of the greatest, if not the greatest movies ever made. I suggest the idiots who fell asleep to grow an attention span (as someone else said), which is capable to comprehend how much of a masterpiece this is, not that of a 10 year old.

Al pacino first movie is Panic in Needle Park..every actor needs to start from low.. The reason why alpacino cast as Micheal in the god father movies because of his previous movies past performance.. Experience is the key to land a big role in Hollywood..

Just saw the movie for the first time and I loved it but I had some questions (Spoilers ahead):
1. Why does Vito Corleone allow everyone to ask him for favors and comply to whatever they ask?
2. Why is Vito Corleone taken to what looks like an abandoned and run-down hospital? Wouldn't they have the money for a top-notch place?
3. In Sicily, why is Michael's face still blue months after he had been beaten up in NYC? He surely would have healed by then
4. At the beginning of the movie, how is Brasi found out right away by Bruno and Sollozo and then killed? How did they know he was undercover?
5. Are we to believe nothing happened to the man that planted the bomb in Michael's car that killed Apollonia? Wouldn't Michael have wanted revenge on him?
6. When buying fruit, why does Vito Corleone run to the car and sacrifice himself to be shot numerous times? It looked like he was trying to save the driver or the car itself even though, later in the movie, we're told the killers were trying to kill Vito? Wouldn't the killers have just directly gone to Vito and the fruit stand and killed him?
1. "No Sicilian can refuse any request on his daughter's wedding day"- Tom Hagen
2. I don't know what a top notch hospital looked like in 1946
3. The officer broke his jaw. That would leave a significant bruise
4. Brasi was known to be permanently loyal to Vito, he would never cross to a rival family
5. There's a deleted scene where Michael guns down Fabrizio
6. The car would have offered protection and an escape, Vito just wasn't quick enough to get in it

Never seen this movie but it looks great. I can see why people rave about it. The only problem I have is that I find it very difficult to understand what they're saying. If I ever watch it, I would need subtitles.
