As I see it, TGF4 chronicles the reign of Vincent Corleone, the bloodiest Don of them all. His ruthless style of power is feared throughout the entire mob world, and he is the real untouchable of the mafia.
The story takes place after Michael Corleone's death. But Vinny is not one to forget how The Family was respected, and why, and who put them on the map. All is not lost when it comes to having a loving and generous Don as well.
The son of Santino Corleone, fire runs through the veins of Vincent The Don Corleone, as it did with his father. Vinny inherits Sonny's mad dog temper, and conceals it behind the grace he has learned from his mentor, Michael Corleone, and gives The Godfather saga a completely new spin.
During the time of the 90's, 2000's, and onward, we saw the rise to power of other modern bosses like of Don Gotti, while at the same time seeing the fall of old 'La Cosa Nostra' with the 'War Against Crime' movement. All but one family, the untouchable, bloodiest one of them all, with ties deep in the government, paid politicians and judges, The Corleones, reign supreme. Their attainment of power in America, and hold over organized crime extends globally in this period, from Cuba to China.
We revisit what we never saw or heard of again- Havana Cuba, and Michael Corleone's control over any mob business between America and the island. Along with their investment in Imobiliari and holdings in Europe, they control half the world's exporting and importing industry.
This is the new plot (if we would have it our way)-
After the assasination of Hyman Roth, not only did The Corleone family take control of what Roth had promised to Michael in Cuba, but also of every other family's interest with Roth. All who opposed this move were considered enemies, and presumed to have aided or take sides with Roth in his attempts to destroy the Corleone family.
The commission of the mob all agreed, as a gesture of peace and to keep the power in the hands of Italians, and out of loyalty and respect to the first boss, Don Vito. Michael Corleone is given "reparations" for the attempts on him and his family, in the form of all the mob business, in the country of Cuba, that Hyman Roth had promised the other families.
Enter Vinny- a new generation. A new breed. He was not someone to shy away from the dirty business, and while maintaining the class, the order, and the notoriety of the Corleone Family, he was not going to miss the opportunity that Cuba stands between the United States, and all the world's supply chain of Cocaine- South America.
But the operations and routes to Mexico, in Central America, are headed by another organized crime boss (for now Dustin Hoffman in the spoof trailer lol) and his operation is being heavily impacted by the new routes detoured through Cuba- and he is not just going to hand it all over back to the Italian mob.
Hoffman is also Jewish, and was directly related to Hyman Roth, and has a score to settle with the Corleones; especially when all that would have been his in Cuba was promised (by Roth) to the Italians. Secretly, like the two-face he was, Hyman Roth arranged to have Hoffman still pulling all the strings in Cuba- with the Italians dangling from them. But all that was obliterated with the assassination of Roth.
Hoffman wisely brushed it off (Cuba operations) as "small potatoes" compared to his developing of the main Cartel routes of distribution thru Central America.
Due to this turf battle, all the mafia families rallied behind the biggest of them all, and the new age of Cosa Nostra is born- with Vinny, the deadliest, bloodiest, and most unforgiving of them all, leading the way.
New stakes are now at risk. It's a new kind of warfare during the 2000s, and the only way to remain in power now, is by eliminating the entire competition, and absorbing their interests. Anyone that does not stand behind Vinny pays a gruesome, heavy price that eliminates, not only those that oppose him, but their entire lineage and connections.
The Godfather 4 - The Rise of Vinny the Vicious......or something like that, you get it!
I'm just a big fan! I hope all that like the movie are at least "teased" by this teaser trailer, and who knows.....maybe they can pull it off and make something completely new and unpredictable.

The only way to have another Godfather entry would be a limited series on Netflix or HBO where it focuses on Vincent or his children. Ironically enough, Michael Corleone could still be alive but a very frail shadow of his former self. The most recent Godfather film, The Death of Michael Corleone, actually altered the original ending slightly. Rather than the audience seeing Michael die, we now witness that he is cursed. Forced to live out the rest of his life without any sense of joy or meaning.

This is a cancelled project, and thus non-canon. Following the mixed reaction of the third film, Francis Ford Coppola stated that the idea of a fourth had been discussed but Mario Puzo died on July 2, 1999, before they had a chance to write the film.
At least in the clip, Vincent still has Sonny's temper.

EXCELENTE QUE NO PIERDA EL CACHÉ
So I keep hearing the music in this vid doesn't go with this saga. Here's why we chose it. The first thing you expect is the trumpet song intro. It's cliche at this point imo. The new generations will not appreciate it, especially that so many decades have passed since the last movie. That said, for a new GF movie to really work, there has to be the evolution of the time period, while staying true to the "feel" of the originals. Playing the trumpet, or "Speak Softly Love" in a trailer would be immediately recognized but with a nostalgic mood, but its too easy, and a lot of fanmade trailers abuse it. It gets boring. It was my first thought, and as we were editing the trailer with it, it became immediately apparent that we are just using it as a gimmick at this point. A new GF has to hold its own, in order to *not* fall into the pit GF3 fell in.
What's going to make The GF4 interesting, fresh, and new is showing it as a continuation in today's world. This leaves little room for a song to represent it to be an outdated, old and festering song like the old theme.
If anything, it should be a hidden gem within the new movie, something that maybe plays at the ending in an epic pre-credits scene. That will leave the old and new audiences centered in the saga's nature. The old theme is definitely important, and a GF cannot be made without it. It's just too easy and overused to put it in a trailer.
We need to feel like things have changed and evolved- like we are able to believe that the Corleone Crime Org is still alive in the present 2022 world, and with that comes change in the setting and music, imo. Dare to be different. Imagine seeing a trailer to GF4 and that old sleepy trumpet playing thru out it. We would feel like nothings really changed, and like there's nothing new and interesting about it. Our bias minds would immediately be in hyper critic mode, and too distracted from being opinionated thru comparison to Part 3, and whether this will flop like it.
Therfore, ommiting the old theme purposely, removes that distraction so that we can really absorb the trailer, and not be overthinking.
The pace of the real world has changed, and so must the movie settings and music.
In the end of it all, you just can't please everyone, so atleast be progressive and don't fall back into the "safe" territory of reusing old content. That's the reason a hype music was thrown in the trailer- to show its a movie that we all love and are familiar with visuals, but to feel like it's a new and updated.
PS. This is a fan made movie trailer and not real. Lol. 2 out of 5 people actually thinks this is a real trailer, amd are treating it as such. I guess, THANKS because that's a compliment that we somewhat nailed it?

Have any thoughts on the Paramount+ show "The Offer". I thought it was interesting to see the details of how the movie was such an obstacle to get made, on so many levels.

Would love for somebody to take all three Godfather movies and tie them all up together in a chronological sequence from Vito's childhood days to Andy García's character, Vincenzo, rise to power in pt 3 as opposed to seeing young Vito in pt 2.
Coppola already did exactly that, but this "Godfather Saga" only exists on VHS tapes.

A true Godfather sequel is probably due anytime now.
Francis just needs to make sure that it'll be taken to a new unexpected level or else it'll become stale overnight.
But the earliest to the latest generation will definitely crowd to see it, if it is a worthy quality sequel.
For me, it actually beats out all sci-fi / disaster special effects movies.
It's very human and is happening in real time as we speak.
It's very simplistic.The Jewish and Italian domination of Organized Crime is long over for many reasons. Need to leave this narrative for anybody to take this seriously and be of interest.
Perhaps, but I'm not sure the core appeal was about Organized Crime anyway. OC was just the backdrop for a guy who outmaneuvered his enemies against the odds and in the face of losing what he loved most - family. So sure, there is no significant Cosa Nostra anymore but I don't think it matters that much.

The fact studios like Marvel and streaming service studios are putting in characters that are diverse just to meet a quota is ruining original ideas.
I'm not against any minority groups and studios being inclusive with NEW ideas, but I am against taking old Characters, that are already baked, and making a "diverse" version of it.

You have to know when to END things. There wasn't a second Casablanca, a sequel to West Side Story, a follow-up to From Here to Eternity, Shane, Goodfellas, Hud, Red River, Ben-Hur, etc. because the stories were OVER. Even Coppola said there wouldn't be a GODFATHER: PART III (back in '75) because there was no story left. He only did the 3rd one in the '90s 'cause he needed money badly. Let it go. After the 2nd one, it ends for me. The 3rd one was a good movie, but it couldn't stand up to the previous 2 and shouldn't have been done.
