    I love that Lisa Raye was so vulnerable ON CAMERA and the fact that she is self-aware enough to realize that we need to start with ourselves. It might sound cliche but we need to be the change we want to see. Time for us to reflect and "do the work" that is required to see change.

      Absolutely!!! I remember when they first started people couldn’t stand her. The comments would often say how out of touch she was and how she couldn’t read the room. It’s beautiful to see. My husband’s grandmother told me at 80 years old that we never stop growing. Lisa is showing us that is true.

    Children don't just need a father who can financial support them, they more importantly need a father who will spend quality time with them. How does Nick Cannon give all eight children living in five different households, equal quality time? Nurturing them, loving them, supporting them, teaching them values of a family unit?...the list is endless!!. He needs to chill, what's really going on in his head? That's what I'd like to know.
    May Cheslie Kryst rest in perfect peace 🙏🏾🙏🏾

    • @Reneesaidit
      @Reneesaidit 2 года назад +11

      I was thinking it's equally sad how he isn't able to provide the mothers of his children the proper level of mental support. The mother of Zen, the baby that passed said she has her family's support during this grief process. Mentioned nothing about him. That's tough.

      100% agree! Well said! Not concerned about the financials because he will do that but there is no way he can be as present as he should be. Talk show in NY, lives in LA, Wild N Out in Atlanta and not sure if he still has a podcast or not but that takes up time too.

    • @nondo2.045
      @nondo2.045 2 года назад +2

      You are absolutely right and that's been my opinion from the get-go. You can't tell me that he spends quality time with all those children spread across different households while holding all his different jobs. I live in the same household with my kids and have just one job and I don't spend as much time as I would like with them.
      I feel like there's a different standard for Nick compared to other black men. It's just sad.

    • @dianejohnson2644
      @dianejohnson2644 2 года назад +3

      Exactly instead of having all these kids with different women why nor just settle down with one and have multiple children under one roof. Something is definitely wrong with him. Maybe he's a sex addict. Then he gets on his talk show and try to make sense out of his nonsense. He's making himself look quite foolish. He needs to calm down. Their is no way humanly possible for him to be there for all these kids as he should be. It's not like he has grown children and babies his oldest with Mariah are only 10.

    When I heard of Cheslie Kryst apparent suicide I was devastated and heartbroken. I am happy that the Mayor of New York issued an investigation into her death just to make sure and rule out any foul play. She was having a hard time with the hatred, racism, and people telling her to kill herself on social media since she won the 2019 Miss USA pageant. She also stated that she had a hard time with turning 30 and feeling like she had not accomplished what she wanted to in life when it came to equality issues and civil rights. She was a civil litigation attorney in North and South Carolina before Extra. Extra reported that she was seeing a therapist for depression/mental illness. She left a note stating everything she has goes to her mother. Like Lisa Raye said we have to do better as a people and as a nation, there are to many people suffering in silence because they feel like they will be judged negatively if they talked about it with family and friends. This is the 3rd suicide among Black people/celebrities in 10 days; Regina King son Ian (26), Mayor Kevin Ward (44), and Cheslie Kryst (30). Peter Robbins (65) voice actor for Peanuts character "Charlie Brown" committed suicide 16 days ago. Cheslie Kryst made history and will always be remembered as 1 of the 5 Black women who Won all Top Major Beauty Pageant Titles in 2019 for the first time ever.🙏🏾

It was in the church I walked up to her and I couldn't do anything but just start crying and she grabbed my hand and said 'it's ok,' and that made me bawl even harder, LOL! I walked through the house where they lived or where Martin Luther King Jr grow up at and I have a signed autographed copy of a book along with the picture that I took with her! Dr. Bernice King's segment was ABSOLUTELY SUPERB!! And all of the women on this show, their intelligent and fierce commentary and perspectives and wisdom, and especially the empathy and compassion and vulnerability shown was magnificent and uplifting!!!!!! The intimate parts and vulnerability was really relatable, and I so enjoyed it. And I just love how Lisa and Syleena checked that troll Jermaine, and his immature response to such weak behavior regarding Janet. He was NEVER worthy!! What should give us hope is that we all carry that strength and grace of our ancestors within us and are blessed to be living out the very dreams they fought, protested, and died for; our freedom! No one can ever take that away from us again. We tend to forget that as a people, but we should never forget our far we HAVE come. Racism, sexism, colorism, all of those things will always exist, but we have the power to spread more love than hate, one person at a time.

    Syleena's imitation of J. Dupri's silly chuckle made me burst into laughter😂😂😂. I must admit I was also aghast at how cavalier he was during his response.

    Behind the beauty and smile, who would have THOUGHT suicidal thoughts can be running RAMPANT in your head. The WORST place for the devil to hide SADLY, is in our head. May God deliver her the peace she lone for.

    Another Great Show, Jermaine Dupree I believe never had the women coming after him so when all these women ran for him and he fell short.. the real question is why run after a man attached? Yes That Part.

    This segment has impacted so much, I am not able to express or type the emotions that I feel. The conversations we have to have. The reminders to love, Be kind to people, check on people, to pray and give it to God. Coretta King seemed to be a modeled mom. Thank you for Dr. Bernice King on the show. Thank God for Dr. Martin L. KIng Jr and Coretta King for being the spirit and the light that they were.

    Lisa Raye hit the nail on the head.. I never want to be the cause if someone being sad.. just had a convo regarding how a doctor ( African American female) I worked with was super nasty to me. And all I could think of is what Lisa Raye just said. Be kind, give people grace, bc u never know. I’m thankful I know and trust GOD and gather my strength from him. Love this show, very uplifting.

    Someone who appears Happy 24/7...isn't. An alleged 'friend' said she 'never had a bad day'. It's not normal. It's a major warning sign. And TRUE FRIENDS can suss that out and raise eyebrows. It's like she checked boxes off for accomplishments (there were countless), yet still felt the void. That is Depression. Material THINGS can't suffice. Spiritual feeding is essential.

    Great interview Queens really enjoyed listening & learning from Dr. Bernise King. Loved the Janet Jackson’s documentary. It touched on so much. Family, love, lost & racism etc… I think J.D. loved Janet, but I think once his boy’s get in his ear about his woman richer than him or her fame I think that plays a role or teasing him about being curtain thing then he’s going to look else where to feel like he’s the man.
