    Thanks for all the support folks! It was a challenge making this video without coming off as negative so it's nice that I'm not alone.
    Stick around for more videos! There's plenty to come. ❤

    thank you for being honest, so often cozy game reviewers don't want to be negative so they only talk about the good parts but you handled it perfectly and only gave it fair criticism instead of being negative

      Thank you. It's a really hard balance between only talking about the positives or only about the negatives. I've seen so many people online rave about Fae Farm but in all honesty I didn't vibe. I might make a follow up in a later video but for the time being I stand by my views. 🙏🏻

    I agree with this review a lot. My friend pre-ordered the game for me as I was super excited about it, and I played for 75 hours and at the end game I was just farming for achievements and décor objects. I adored the game, don't get me wrong, but it definitely felt like something was missing. I haven't played the DLC yet, but I might when I'm in need of a cozy game again (I'm addicted to Baldur's Gate right now lol). The game design and art style was so good it kept me playing, but the gameplay was definitely lacking compared to other cozy games. Anyway, thanks for the video! Enjoyed the review

      It's difficult to gauge what makes it a decent game when its so similar to others eh? Especially after putting in so many hours! The DLC in my opinion looks like it just adds a couple of features like a new areas with trinkets (which can help you in other ways) and critters to catch or befriend. (Also I love and I'm still addicted to Baldurs Gate 3 too)

    I put over 100 hours into Fae Farm, a chunk of it hybridizing flowers and decorating farms. Considering I have over 3000 in ACNH, that’s a drop in the bucket. lol. I agree with most of what you said in your review. I think it’s a truly beautiful game with an engaging score. It could be so much more than it is, so I really hope Phoenix puts a decent effort into the next DLC. I’m playing on Switch so I’ve already paid for it. My biggest gripes were that I spent two game years getting all the flowers and than could not make seeds for them for my other farms. Start that over at 3 more farms? No thanks. I hear they have fixed that now. But the most off putting thing was the complete lack of any kind of meaningful relationships or character depth. I got married and my husband did nothing but wander my farm drinking tea and poking the ground with a stick. The dialog didn’t change. He never even came into the house. The NPCs are pretty much empty window dressing.

    • @maireadthepirate
      @maireadthepirate  7 месяцев назад

      I heard a lot about the NPCs being pretty dull. I just ended up going on a date with a bearded dude. The annoying thing I found about romancing was the quest expiring after you slept. Also regarding the flowers and hybrids, you don't want to know how long it took me to breed the pink flower. 🥺

    we need more cosy reviewers who aren't scared to get negative - i feel like eewona says every game is her favourite game and WE NEED CRITICISM FOR ONCE. so thank you. I enjoyed the game but ultimately it felt soulless/empty

    • @maireadthepirate

      I'll be honest, I went with my gut reaction. No matter how positive I tried to be I just had a feeling in the pit of my stomach. In all fairness Eewona likes the game and I'm sure there are games that I love that she doesn't like. 😊

    The screen looks super cluttered. Reminds me of a mobile game

    • @maireadthepirate
      @maireadthepirate  8 месяцев назад

      Oh pal... I totally agree. There's be points where I could read anything on the screen because of collected items being alerted on screen. It also reminds me a bit of Miitopia in the art style but I agree, kinda mobile gamey.

    If you haven't already you should try out Sun Haven and Dinkum. I highly recommend both if you like Stardew you'll love Sun Haven and if you like Animal Crossing you will love Dinkum as both provide a amazing spin on the genre.

    • @maireadthepirate
      @maireadthepirate  8 месяцев назад

      I've played a bit of Dinkum and what I played of it I thought was cute but because it was so long ago I don't remember much. I just remember being able to customise furniture and the animals being a bit creepy. Says a lot about me. 😅 Sun Haven hasn't been on my radar so I'll look out for that. Thanks for the recommendation!

    This was a great review. I only played the demo of fae farm for the nintendo switch for a few weeks before i just got bored by it. The game and art style was okay, but the characters had little to no personality and the dialogue was just repetitive too. I would rather play rune factory 5 or harvest moon for the nintendo switch instead. I'm happy that i didn't buy this game and spend $60 dollars either.

    • @maireadthepirate
      @maireadthepirate  2 месяца назад

      There are so many more farming and cosy games you can play for less than that price tag! My Time at Portia is a little glitchy on Switch but I really liked it, Sandrock I've only played on PC but it's good too.

      I'll admit, Harvestrella is a game that's been on my wishlist for a while and after playing the demo a while back I still plan to get it...but only when it's on sale. I think these days there's generally an issue with Cozy/farming games where they can be pretty copy & paste. Such a shame...

    Why is there a DLC? For that price that should be in the main game.

    • @maireadthepirate
      @maireadthepirate  8 месяцев назад +2

      Your guess is as good as mine! It's free if you have it on Switch or the deluxe edition but otherwise you have to pay for it. I was sent a code which included the DLC and tbh apart from a new area with trinket which give you buffs and critters to befriend and catch for potions/ingredients etc, I barely utilised it. 😕

    Anyone who's played Dauntless should know to never expect anything good to come from Phoenix Labs.
    I stopped playing that game because for an Online / Monster Hunter / RPG, there sure is a lack of new content to keep you invested, and a load of poor decisions being made, such as initially NOT having a Radiant Esca when all the other elements had one, and even now they still just cycle out the same old outfits from like 3 years ago. I just hope this hyped up summer update is as good as I'm hearing, and I'm gonna be very upset if they back out of this weapon swap feature I've been hearing my friend go on and on about

    • @maireadthepirate
      @maireadthepirate  8 месяцев назад

      Wow that's kinda disappointing 😕 I've not played Dauntless but considering developers include those who used to work for quite big companies. Here's hoping that they improve with future games. It's tough out there in the games industry these days. 🥺

  • @personwholovesailorm
    @personwholovesailorm 5 месяцев назад +3

    Surprised at how glitchy this game was. I was constantly getting stuck inside items I had placed, getting trapped into corners by npcs or my own animals, had npcs get "stuck" in an area and never leave, had items I picked up not go in my inventory despite there being plenty of space, menus would stop appearing for construction, tools would pass through things without doing anything, always had the visual icons for my tool wheel glitch while I was cycling through them, had a particularly damning quest cycle where whenever I tried to turn in a quest it would instead assign me a different one from the one I was trying to turn in, and the game would stutter or freeze constantly.
    I was playing the switch version but from what I've heard from others the glitches aren't exclusive to that version. And these glitches were either constant or common enough that the gameplay was made very tedious. For all the complaints leveled at the newest Pokemon games, I feel these were even worse. There is no justification for a $60 price tag at all.

    • @maireadthepirate
      @maireadthepirate  2 месяца назад +1

      Ouch! Sounds like you were burnt badly by the game! Part of me wants to go back to the game and see if it's improved at all but I have a feeling it probably hasn't. 😥
      The recent Pokémon games were hilariously glitchy but also majorly disappointed that an expensive game like that was put on shelves.

    • @personwholovesailorm
      @personwholovesailorm Месяц назад +1

      @@maireadthepirate it has improved marginally since they added more DLC. The stuttering and freezing still happens, characters still get stuck in place, and I've all but given up being able to utilize the tool wheel properly. But I recently gave it another shot and I noticed the controls were more reliable and I got stuck by npcs maybe once? Overall the game has a long way to go still.

    • @maireadthepirate
      @maireadthepirate  Месяц назад +1

      @@personwholovesailorm still sucks that it's only now that some improvements have been made. They should've had the game in early access at least before doing a full release. My Time at Sandrock did that on PC and although the Switch port was kinda janky it eventually got better.

    I agree with the review (played it for 47 hours or so) It´s multiplayer is a bit janky personally speaking, i started a savefile, my friend joined me, took us a while to figure out how she had to get the staff i unlocked not so long into it, it´s probably best if you ever touch multiplayer, do it from the start with everyone so the pacing is equal so to speak

    • @maireadthepirate
      @maireadthepirate  8 месяцев назад

      Tbh I'm not surprised. Mind you there are some huge games that have a janky multiplayer. I hope it improves but you'd think it would be a bit accessible. I think if my friends ever play with me then I'll do what you suggested.
      Thanks for watching!
