Great tone... I've been playing it as a hammer on instead of a slide so I had to try and verify. Maybe he plays it both ways, but Joe definitely hammers on during the performance on Howard Stern. Thanks for the videos!
The hammer on is certainly one way to do it. Probably the most common! I listen to it and sometimes on the recording it sounds like a slide and others a hammer on. Probably just how his feel is on that hammer on. 😎. Thanks for watching man!
What's up Marty, talk about picking the best songs out there. Another favorite song and album. The bomber, cast your fate to the wind , I was just playing a minute ago, yeah. Love it Marty.
A little trivia about the original pressing of Joe's YER album.. If you had a turntable without auto-return, the 1st side would repeat " FLIP ME OVER" ...On side 2 it would say "PLAY ME AGAIN" Funny stuff.. Interesting take on the song Marty..Well done...
Can’t believe Joe Walsh went from ass kicking James Gang to The Eagles..I mean him jamming Walk Away and then go to playing that wussy Best of my Love crap. Shew Gawd.
Been working on this riff for 40yrs or so in my practice routine...I have the strumming down but that fret work is tough for me...thanks Marty,I have more information now...
Marty, that was great, thank you. Love that you did it on that Tele. Could never get that slide to C# sound right, so alas, I have to hammer on. Joe does another cool bendy thing after the drum solo. Think it starts on A then up to 15th fret on B . How about adding a little addendum to this great video?
Thanks man! 😎🤟🏻I think I was referring to when you make the chord shape after the d. It's like a d sus 4 or it can be a g as well when you add the B with it.
Well you got the chords right and most of the notes. However you missed some of the nuances of Joe Walsh's style. Granted, it's not as easy as it appears. You may want to go back and give a closer listen, especially the intro riff. Maybe if you A/B them both you will have a better understanding.
so many great JG songs
Agreed! One of my favorite players. 👍😁
Another great video, appreciate older songs your doing🤘🤘
Thanks Ron! Gotta pay tribute to the classics man! Good stuff. 😎🤟🏻

Fun tune, ton-o-fun to play on bass too!
I bet it is! 🤟🏻
Great lesson. I've always wanted to learn this song. Joe Walsh is one of my favorites. Nice back story on Funk #48, it's exactly how you described.
Thanks for watching and for the support man! Glad you liked the lesson. 😎

This is such a clear breakdown of the parts, great job man, can't wait to try this out later.
Have fun! Thanks man 🥂
Another great one Marty. I has the James Gang greatest hits tape back when. #48 is on there. Extra trivia, the "Jim" is the James of the gang.

Old fun song to play been playing it since 70s! Thanks Marty
Super fun! Songs like this really helped shape my style and playing over the years. Great little nuggets in this cool riff. 😎
Man the solo in Confessor is awesome. Joe Walsh has too many to list. Thanks
I need to check that out!
That Tele's got my thirsty for some H₂O

i have a 45 record of Funk 49 with Funk 48 on the other side.
I believe the chords are basically A, D, & E. You called the E a G in the video. Otherwise nice and thanks for sharing.
Thanks man! 😎🤟🏻I think I was referring to when you make the chord shape after the d. It's like a d sus 4 or it can be a g as well when you add the B with it.
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker I would call it an Em7.
@@michaelgregg436 yep same thing really since G and em are relatives. 😎🎵🎵🎵
Sounds like foot loose stole from this
Totally!! Wow
no not pro tools...tell me this was the onlly time
