The genius of Belichick and Parcells with the defense in these playoffs. A 4 man line against the Bears. A 3 man line against the 49ers, and a 2 man line against the Bills.
They adapted the defense to each team and allowed 35 points in the 3 games winning SB 2 of 4 in NY history.

@@mm-gl7sz I don't know anyone who says that. Giant fans love Belichick and know what a great coach that he is and how smart that he is. Jet fans probably have sour grapes because he saw how dysfunctional ownership was with the Jets and he bolted for New England. I seem to remember it was Belichick that drafted Brady and it was Belichick who saw the potential in Brady and replaced a first overall pick in Bledsoe when he was ready to return and kept playing Brady.
Belichick drafted Brady in the 6th round and he threw 3 passes as a rookie and then replaced an injured Bledsoe and with the coaching of Belichick and his staff they went from 5 wins to 11 wins and a SB.

Hey if anyone can find the game, my favorite Giants/LT goal line stand was in the 1993 Bears game (season opener) when LT was returning from the torn achilles that ended his '92 season. Taylor had two awesome tackles on the Bears' Craig Heyward (R.I.P.) including one where he came careening down the line with back-end pursuit like it was 1982. He also had 1.5 sacks, and sealed the game with a forced fumble. It was a great return from injury, of course it was LT's final year, and was probably the best game he played all season.

Joseph Gibbons without a doubt. Back then third and up to I’d say FOUR was considered a “running down”.
Now third and TWO or even ONE is a passing down!
I really dont like the way the game is played now with all the spread offenses and two point stance linemen. The fullback basically no longer exists. Iso’s, leads, sweeps, counter tre’s and dives have been replaced by the stupid bubble.
Hate it, but as someone who coaches I have to do my best to keep up and evolve if I want to keep my job. I guess thats just the way it goes 🤷‍♂️

Maybe it was just me but the Giants D this year seemed super focused after the Flipper Anderson game the year before. Played the great 49ers twice in SF held them to 20 point total, 2 TD 2 FG. Everyone Walls might be the best free agent pickup in Giants history. Belichick had to convince the D to let Thurman Thomas run all over them in the Super Bowl but other than that it seemed like he didn't have to do much coaching that year, the players knew the task at hand

One of belichick's main areas of genius was the practice of the red zone D over and over and over. Some of his weaker Patriot defenses gave up chunks of yards but then when the Red zone was reached, they turned into the 85 Bears

3:03 a fan that looks like Cheers George Wendt from his SNL’ “Da Bears” character giving the FU arm gesture.
I watched this game back then & was concerned if Ditka was going to put in Refrigerator Perry to lead block for Neal Anderson. Rather Ditka chose to do the unthinkable & lead block with Anderson & run it with fb Muster. Those are the calls that get a HC fired. Horrible play calling. Horrible HC. Ditka underestimated GMEN.
