Taking into account that Ted has an unused fighting style, it's most likely that he had an actual fight in his boss mission after getting past his defense. On the other hand, his fghting style has this feature where he can evade any projectile except explosives. Since Jimmy's invetory is cleared during the boss fight and the rigged footballs are technically explosives, it wouldn't make sense for him to have that ability. To be honest the game doesn't even explain how Jimmy loses his items unlike Final Showdown.

What's ironic is that Damon actually thinks he should of been the leader of the jocks instead of Ted and should be the quarterback. He is definitely fit for the role.
Im late but Damon is too tough to be the quarterback, his position as a linebacker fits him since he needs to be crazy strong.

@@xiveroff4223 yes because we only saw him on chapter 1 and 4 only why other leader show up in chapter 1,2,3,5 like derby in chapter 1,2,3,5 and johnny in chapter 1,3,5 so on with earnest and russel, you easily understand why ted only have regular jocks fighting style, it was the game the story itself, ted used to be stronger in beta(op character) but rockstar remove all his feature, nerfed him, as we can see rockstar didn't make us to one on one with him, we just embarasse him, just imagine if rockstar make us to one on one with him in boss battle, imagine how his move would look like imagine how strong he is if rockstar bring back his beta boss style, this is actually unfair fight for ted cause why? because derby have 3 different move included his 6 hit combo and johnny also have 3 different move also included his haymaker and head stomp move
@@xiveroff4223 and also you can see in the main story, ted is the only leader who doesnt give a shit about jimmy like the other leader does, for example like russel,derby,johnny,earnest and edgar. All this leader does one on one with jimmy and also hate him in the first place while ted is like a cool school kid scrolling to internet and like "oh this is jimmy everyone hate him, i dont care" and thats why they doenst give him any special move in the final version
its a shame that rockstar made him a complete useless character in the storyline, he's one of my fav characters.
I think all the build-up was supposed to be comical. The player would believe Ted is the strongest character since he's the Jock leader, but then he's knocked out with a single attack, proving that actually he's the weakest character in the game and hides behind the Jocks to look tough. Either way, it is still extremely disappointing that he doesn't do anything to fight Jimmy and is a complete filler in the story.
The bum santa is the worse filler imo.
well he does put up a bit of a fight during the climax mission "complete mayhem" where he has his normal health bar

Bully is my most favorite game. That said, it is also the most disappointing I’ve played. There was so much potential for this game, from minor to major charters, locations, etc, and they ruined it because they pretty much didn’t believe it would succeed.

So overall, Ted is actually a pretty good character and represents very well the stereotypical school football captain, but is unfortunately very underused. TBH I agree this is Rockstar’s fault, because the character himself has everything needed to be awesome. He IS awesome, all Bully characters are, but yeah, he could be so much more.
Ted looks like younger Michael De Santa. While Mandy looks like Amanda. What if they both r are the same characters in GTA V? Michael was also a quarterback and he sometimes calls amanda "Mandy". I know it isn't true. But I just thought it would be cool to think

IMO Ted isn't the worst, most of the non clique students are way more generic and boring. But Ted is definitely underwhelming considering he's the leader of the strongest clique in Bullworth. Like how Damon is physically stronger than him and has a way bigger role in the game. Damon himself often talks behind Ted's back and wanting to be the leader of the Jocks, which implies Ted was the leader only because he's the quarterback. Ted may not be the strongest leader but he should be the cunning type like Gary, or else he's just a boring, generic character.

I like that ted was knocked out in a single punch. I remember thinking “that was clever rockstar 😆” but tbf, I do remember forgetting about Ted until the boss fight. Definitely the least memorable of the main antagonists.

To anyone trying to excuse his boss fight by saying you’re supposed to tackle him, that’s not the point. The point is that his boss fight is underwhelming in comparison to the other fights in the game. Knowing that you have to tackle him doesn’t make the fight any less disappointing.
If Rockstar wanted us to tackle Ted, they should have made it more challenging to do so, or better yet have us fight Ted after catching him.

@@dauphineegill2197 doubt it, he’s bigger than Ted and is a boxing champion. I don’t think most of the jocks were meant to be the strongest individually. You rarely ever fight them in the game 1 on 1 and they’ll gang up on you pretty quickly. In groups they’re the hardest to beat along with townies. R* did this all intentionally, to show how overrated the jocks were and that there were still tougher characters than them

This is why Chapter 3 is my favorite. After that, the story stops making as much sense. I think Chpts 4 and 5 are major victims of executive meddling

And he is not wrong. Ted was the only one standing after his defensive line was knocked down (and Damon, who is the strongest Jock, was knocked down. Ted's strength lies in his endurance).

Ted could've been a way better antagonist than Damon ever could if executed correctly. Instead of Yuri that terrorized Earnest, put in Ted instead, have Ted win class president to make the nerds life even worse, instead of making him have 5 hp, give him 500 hp but with no helpers this time, give him more quotes, he barely says anything and include him in either the gym is burning cutscenes, or the gym is burning mission. If you want to make Ted an overall interesting character you don't even need to do that much, the problem was that they did too little and didn't flesh out his character at all.

Still, I have a theory regarding all this.
Might be a stretch, but I feel like the jocks were never intended to have a leader, or atleast, a STUDENT LEADER.
Think about it, Mr.Burton (the gym class teacher) has a lot more spotlight than any other teacher as an antagonist, even more than Galloway.
Also being the gym teacher, and the jocks coach aswell, technically makes HIM more of a leader than Ted; and if you recall correctly, he's the ONLY teacher who does not condemn bullying, meaning that he could fit the role of one himself.
This theory may also explain why he appears in the "Gym is Burning" cutscene saying "I've trusted you", even tough we never get to even interact with him on the matter.
As to why Ted "took" the role, I feel like it was either US who misinterpreted everything, or a last minute chance from Rockstar.
Basically, Ted would have only been a scapegoat for the real revenge on Burton, which was his definitive firing.
The leaders of the Cliques are so because of some reasons:
Russell: The biggest and strongest
Derby: The richest
Ted: The quarterback
Johnny: the toughest
Edgar: the meanest
Earnest: the smartest

do Johnny next, ive always found the Greasers more Interesting/Relatable, they're the only Clique that can be considered a Gang (*Spoiler* Johnny would join The Lost MC in bully 2) ok obviously not a spoiler but that'd be cool either way
Declan Stewart Bikers are very different from Greasers and a much different culture.
The problem was the lack of mechanics in Bully. When you actually fight ted in Complete Mayhem, he's just as tough as the other generic jocks in the game. It's just that Damon is INCREDIBLY tough. Which makes sense, considering his role in the football team.
You're supposed to be tackling Ted, which for the jocks who obsess over football, is incredibly embarrassing. That's why when you see the cutscene, Ted isn't knocked out, he's on his feet looking demotivated. They got embarrassed in front of the whole school after picking a fight.

He was going too team up with Jimmy and fight Seth together at one point. Too think all the cliques are tamed, he needs too get into the main school building and can't as the prefect is there and is caught or blocked and Ted comes too help after his lot are calmed down (in my book as a sports team they are quite disciplined) and is all "we can take him buddy" and they take him on defeating him but not before Ted is hurt and out.

I never really thought that in depth about bully/canis canem edit. This reminds me of the good old days of breaking down a characters involvement to the plot in Macbeth...

I agree with you. Ted is barely shown in the game at all. Hell, replace Ted with Constantinos, at least he puts up with a fight, 50% of the time. Even when Ted isn't even in his own mission, he plays a bigger role than he does in The Big Game, in Complete Mayhem, and even there, hes only there for one scene, and then gets his ass kicked in 2 minutes. Something that Rockstar should have done is have a (mission) scene where Ted loses his status as Jock leader, and have Damon overthrow him in some way, like a wrestling match.
Bully 2 should have haunted houses, haunted woods, haunted sewers haunted abandoned neighborhood and a haunted asylum. Bully should add extra terrestrial content and even serial killers kidnappings to resolve. They should add things like ghosts werewolf's sasquatch loch ness monster zombies and even vampires.
TED was already present in the mission "SLINGSHOT" where you can shoot him from the tree. His number is 0 on his clothes.
Ted is so irrelevant that you could easily change him to fred durst character mod and the game would be the same

I think I remember reading somewhere that the only reason Ted is considered the leader of the Jocks is because he's their teams quarterback.
For the candidate mission, you should have had the choice to help Ted or Earnest.
At least Derby was mentioned multiple times during chapter 2, effectively setting him up as a potential antagonist. With Ted it's just... Nothing.
Damon definitely should have been the leader of the Jocks, that dude was always tryin to beat you up!
Note on the 2 deleted characters bit: the black jock is Bo Jackson, the jock with the light blue shirt and white pants while the white one is Bob, who is actually a removed character who might've been replaced by Juri.

I agree with how Ted was kinda underused in the story, the same goes for Edgar and all the other Townies. I would have loved to see these guys more, since it gives more insight into their personalities. That said, I get what they were going for with Ted’s boss fight. It’s the whole idea of the king of the school, the most popular kid, be nothing when you get him alone. Still, him allegedly being the most popular kid in school with Mandy, kind of gets lost with him not appearing during most of the story.
Ted is not bad character, but Rockstar just demolished him. Gave Ted a 200hp (In "The Big Game" 5hp), and the worse strong than a Juri, Damon, and evan Luis Luna. So...

Who do you think is the most overrated character? The one who people absolutely adore, but didn't have much of a role in the game. I'd say it's probably Kirby. Lots of people love Kirby. I'm not saying I don't like Kirby, in fact he's my favourite character, but he has little to no role in the game. I don't remember any side missions, no cutscenes, and the only time he appears in missions is as a generic jock enemy. He's a kissable character and that's about it.

Old comment and ma comment bouta be hella long .but as much as I don't wanna say it think it's peanut I low key think the greasers as a whole are overrated fosho, and I hate to say peanut because him and Norton are the only greasers I decently like but I'ma be real n shit peanut was handled as bad as Ted and Omar , his only decent appearance was during the chapter 3 intro and the whole cutscenes made him out to be a lil bitch it got to the point where Pete was bullying his ass even tho he supposed to be second in command of the arguably most feared clique , and anything after that he don't do shit. The one thing I can give him he does have a small roll in the rumble but the beta had peanut role here done way better in the regular game any man who playin and first time or some shit would prolly get peanut and Vance confused cause a the way they did this mission and this isn't even the only time Vance the weakest greaser is doing all the talking while Norton and peanut the lieutenants are standing there not sayin nothin , this shit happens in preppies vandalized too. And back to peanut he's not necessarily the most loved character but compared to Kirby he is and also considering peanut is a second leader Damon and Bif make him look like more of a bitch than the chapter 3 intro. Well probably his role is made that way, because of many changes Rockstar did to the storyline, as always.
Maybe its because during every chapter Jimmy tries to build relations with every clique (C1 Bullies, C2 Preps, C3 Greasers, C4 Nerds, C5 Townies). Because Chapter 4 focus on Nerds, maybe chapter 3 was meant to be the one you get along with Jocks ? After all there is this "Paddle" deleted mission with Gary involving Damon taking place at winter. Who knows.
At last when you think about it, during chapter 4 Jimmy tries a different strategy to beat up Jocks. Rather than going straight to Ted and trying to beat him up, he makes friends with nerds to get some help during Big Game. This makes a lot of sense, since the main goal Jimmy had was to prove to everyone that he is the best, and jocks are presented as the leading clique at Bullworth. If Jimmy would follow the same steps - trying to befriend Jocks, then beat all of them up, then probably his victory wouldnt be that big, and his position as king of the school in c5 not that obvious as it is.
These are my thoughts, but I agree, the Jocks missions are absent, making Ted the very backgroundish character

alot of bullies soundtracks sound late 60s or early 70s especially the beta soundtracks which makes me think if it waa going to be around that period in the beta
During Earnest’s speech he said he would ban PE, but that never happens. Which would mean Ted won the election.

Hello Nathan, I’d like to tell you the reason why Ted got knocked out 1 hit In ‘The Big Game’, if you actually played football you would know what sack means. Sack means when you attack the quarterback before he gets ready to pass the ball to someone or gets the ball passed to him, if it was meant to be a real boss fight. It would say ‘defeat Ted’ and in the unused boss fight with him, he has 5000hp. Which would take like a whole hour to knock him out
If I were to remake Ted's involvement in the story here is what I would do:
1. Replace Burton, Bob and Bob with Ted, Luis and Dan.
2. Have him tell the other jocks after the first jock screw up to keep an eye out for whoever is messing with them for the big game
And 3. Instead of going down in one hit have him only be able to be taken down by explosive footballs that Pete would throw onto the field.
I believe that Ted is more of a figure than the real antagonist; like something that the Jocks look for inspiration or something, but, in the end, is a laughable wimp. I believe that's his character,

Even on my third playthrough of Bully, I failed to realize the white guy confronting Jimmy during the Ted boss fight was Ted himself.

In all fairness, Ted survives several explosions

Others may not agree but I actually loved the fact Ted was so weak in the end because it subverts expectations. To have the leader of the toughest clique in the school of whom even Gary was wary of in all his arrogance secretly be a wimp was a great twist IMO, especially cause the leader of in a way the weakest clique (the Bullies who I think you can argue are the weakest clique as the Nerds have their weapons) Russel was the strongest in the school. It reminds me of Master Kohga from Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild who just like Ted had strong subordinates but turned out to be rather weak himself.
The Ted Thompson problem is that he is the least interesting member of his own clique while the other clique leaders tend to be the most interesting or are more interesting than half their clique.
The thing I hate about the jock boss fight: Is that you Dont even fight Ted. You easily knock him out.
The thing about Ted being the boss is that it works perfectly because of how badly it seems to work out, but you'll have to think about it from a jock perspective to understand,
Americans love football, especially high school football in some parts of the country. Quarterbacks are often the most popular player on the team, and looked at as the coolest, therefore the leader, especially in high school. It makes perfect sense to have the quarterback as the jock leader from the jocks viewpoint.
With the boss fight, it also makes sense. Ted is constantly behind the other jocks, who are protecting him, just like in an actual game of football. The only real confusing thing about the fight is Ted running away from you when he said himself that he takes out linebackers every day. That would imply that he's a rushing quarterback who isn't afraid to take trouble head-on if protection breaks down. It would have made much more sense g8ven the dialogue to have him run towards you, but taking him down in one hit would still make sense, since you're meant to tackle (or sack) the quarterback. Alternatively, the linebacker line could have been scrapped, and Ted could have been harder to hot with unique dodging animations.
As for Damon, his fighting style suggest that he might be a defensive lineman or linebacker, responsible for tackling the quarterback or running back. He very well could have been a defensive captain, and seen as Ted's right hand man on that fact alone, regardless of being a better hand-to-hand fighter.
As for The Gym is Burning and The Candidate, it really is disappointing that Ted and Damon didn't reappear with Burton, and I agree that there should have been a Chapter 2 follow up to The Candidate. At least Ted is a better fighter in Complete Mayhem, though. It shows that he isn't a worse fighter than the Nerds, at least, but he still doesn't beat out Damon as the best Jock fighter. Damon is probably the 5th best fighter at Bullworth behind Jimmy, Russell, Bif, and Derby. Ted just feels like a typical jock when fighting him one on one.

In the boss fight you’re supposed to sack ted meaning tackle him to embarrass him in front of the entire school. Ted being known as the best football player in the school and being the quarterback by sacking him in front of EVERYBODY is showing that jimmy best him at what Ted is known best for. Putting more of a high school rep for ted into the game.

Rockstar clearly had missed opportunities when it comes to characters like Ted
For some reason, I think that Ted is a good guys than a bad one. Maybe that's the reason he's not there in any jock Missions. Even in the cutscene where Damon is bullying Pete, Ted in the background is only laughing than physically hurting Pete.

It's simple, Rockstar rushed the game after ch3. So Ted is a bit underdeveloped, rushed and bad programmed AI(to think their base AI pedstat file seems unbalanced, good thing I can modified it and increase the NPC strength to make the game more challenging). Rockstar basically nerfed Ted. Hell, even the Townies doesn't have a bigger role. They've been underused and Edgar wasn't properly introduced lol
why do people always say that about the boss fight the objective was to sack ted (meaning to tackle him)

what most people don't talk about is how it says *sack* ted not beat him up like tackle him its what enemy players do to a QB Sack him thats why it says sack so they lowered his health so you could tackle him
I don't find this character to be bad, just completely useless.
It's never seen or mentioned apart from the first mission and a few other cutscenes and the final of the big game.
A useless character, probably left there by rockstar cause they had other plans for it in the beta.

possibly because the bullies were never supposed to be their own clique until the final stages of the game
They kinda compensated for it but making Christy able to antagonize fights, much like the bullies.

Michelle L. Eunice isn't in their clique but I believe I've seen her insulting other girls before, basically bullying them as they did the same animation when they are scared and bullied.
