Earnest in all honestly is just as bad as the other clique leaders. He’s arrogant, vengeful, self righteous and conniving. It’s clear he wants to rule the school not out justice and to bring peace by stopping the bullying but to torture people and rule with an iron fist. With how he runs the nerd clique, the weapons in the observatory, the Mandy plot, his dialogue during boss fight and the final mission,etc it all shows he’s just as much of a bully as anyone else. The only thing that’s stopping him from taking it on a wider scale is his lack of social standing and lack of physical power but if he had those he’d be the worst clique leader hands down.
This video shows great character analysis skills: you can enjoy and like how a character was written without supporting/condoning their actions, and critically analyze the character without the moral implications of their actions within the story dictating how well written they are (or aren't). That being said, he's absolutely a creepy perverted nerd, but a well written one!
Clearly he lost the presidential vote but I still wanna see his reactions and how Jimmy would think to help earnest and only for it to back fire in him and then he gets attacked by the nerds. This would be so much better than the immediate attack by the nerds out of nowhere.
Consider this though at 7:42, in the beta, the nerds vendetta would've been around chapter 5 if I recall, so this may have original been a reveal for chapter 5, not 3.
